How does being a first gen + PR affect your college application?
Hi, great question! when I read my admissions file (which I recap here: ua-cam.com/video/eZi8XDVmMHE/v-deo.html) there wasn't any specific mention of either thing in my officers' comments, except that "malaysia" was one of the first words one of my officers wrote down. Beyond that, it is very possible that being first gen and a permanent resident (I would receive my citizenship after I got in) factored into the conversations at the table, but from the actual admissions file itself I can't tell!
@Cassandra Hsiao does being pr/us national in any way have your application treated differently from an international applicant?
