This is a typical kind of sick romance in East Asia. The guy is secretly in love with the woman but is not comfortable/afraid/too proud to admit it. The plots are always the same. I don't think there are girls actually fall for this. Just a type of extreme fantasy.

This turned out to be a sweet story revived after evil plotting, misunderstandings and jealousy. Somewhat different than a lot of drams about the Fl getting pregnant, leaving returning after some years. This Ml had 5 years to choose the Fl as his wife but chose to use her as his personal toy and catered to another woman. It must be true that you don't miss something until it is gone which was true of the Ml who regretted his choices after the Fl was pursued by others and finally disappeared for 7 years. No excessive abuse by the Ml or torture. Good acting by the attractive Ml and Fl, good storylines and good ending. Worth watching.
The FL is crazy for going back to him. Once a jackbutt always a jackbutt. I wouldn't be willing to spend my life waiting for his cold-hearted treatment to come back. If you treat someone like he did her, there is no way you actually love the person. Want to own and control them, maybe. Love? Nope!

I actually like these throwed-off dramas. The different versions can make it fun to try to figure out what the assignment was. Recently, there seems to be a change to a less abusive character and longer repentance periods for the MLs.

This has a good ending. I've seen similar ones, but sometimes itmakes me disappointed or sad. This one is one of the good ones. 😃 Both leads were good. I know how hard it is when you need to look like you don't care or not affected by the scene. Love this. 🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜

That’s not an apology or evidence that he has thought long and hard about his prior behavior; that he suffered at her loss, that he has truly changed. 1:38:00 he literally asks why she hasn’t forgiven him yet-and he has not even bothered to apologize or ask for forgiveness! Why should she have forgiven him in the past 7 years? She had to fake her death to escape his imprisonment! The words “I’m sorry” never pass his lips.And when he asks her to come back with him it’s a) because he wants her (no thought to what she wants) and b) he uses the child to manipulate her.

I think this is the best version of this drama that I have seen, from quite early on you can see he cares for her, the idea of him dating other women to protect her from the psycho fiancee is also quite good. There's some bad editing (not too much) and a few places it gets confusing but overall a decent mini drama. Strong leads and several really good supporting actors.
The other one iwatch before is the best . Fl left ml at middle drama also she's never for birth with ml to. She's left and come back with company and let's ml suffering much too

The fact that he treated her like a sex toy that he owned at the start is hardly a “misunderstanding”. It showed just how little he cared about her or respected her.
It feels like the editing gets really choppy sometimes when these short dramas are condensed like this for easy watching. 95% of the time it's fine, but in the last 2 days I've watched two or three with really choppy editing.
Why do some men with authority and people with money (some familys) think they can still abuse women at work and at home. Such Disrespect and Bullying and Hitting is a crine. Anywhwere and Everywhere in this world!
Both FL and ML were suffering from PTSD because both their fathers committed suicide when they were young kids. ML really loves her but he couldn't express himself if a normal way but just dominated her. Also there is the backstory that the fathers had something to do with each other's death. Such a shame as they would have made a nice couple if things were not so complicated.
I’m honestly not sure he loved her. Just because he says he did does not mean it is so. Wanting to own and control her is not the same as love and his traumatic history as a child doesn’t magically excuse his behavior. He never really apologized. Never atoned. He just shows up and says “you still haven’t forgiven me after 7 years” as if that was an expectation. And then 1:40:00 it completely skips any part of him showing remorse; or apologizing, or working to atone and skips to them laughing together. It was a completely unearned ending. the kid tricks his mother into letting her ex into the house and then magically they are back tougher. It’s a weak and unearned ending from lazy writers. If you want to get them back together, you have to write a redemption arc for the abusive male lead.
This ended well. Surprisingly. 🎉Hats off to the screenwriter/s for brilliantly weaving this story.🎉 The acting is very convincing. ML's method in attacking his role looks effortless but very effective. It's a good watch❤ Kudos🎉
If I can forgive a man like this, I am not a woman. Protecting a woman you love should not be this way. It really distorts the emotion of love. Women should protect themselves from such type of love. My greatest regret in all the dramas is that children are used to reconcile the parents no matter how the man treats the woman. Do Chinese males have this kind of stupid mentality. I don't care whether the woman returns back to the man or not but that there should be gender equity and that the guilty should be punished whether it is the ml or the instigators. Did I miss part of the ending? She has to fake her own death to escape him. He shows up after 7 years and the only thing he says is “haven’t you forgiven me yet?” No apology. No declaration of love or remorse. No work to atone and prove he is different. He uses the kid to trick her into letting him enter her house and then it immediately skips to them laughing together. Unsatisfying. He had no real growth. He should have had to demonstrate that he had changed with his words and actions. He didn’t. He also didn’t suffer at all. Just her suffering as usual. He just wanted to show up and magically have her back without earning it.
Acting: really good. Script: FL sells herself to pay for her mother....is abused....stays with the abuser.....same old. Here, the ML is a big hotshot CEO and can not protect anyone from his psycho fiancee....yeah, really believable - eyeroll.

而且裡面的人，好像只要有錢，就可以欺壓別人：男人對女性上下其手、女人到處賞人巴掌下馬威；感覺劇情很有問題呀

Both FL and ML were suffering from PTSD because both their fathers committed suicide when they were young kids. ML really loves her but he couldn't express himself if a normal way but just dominated her. Also there is the backstory that the fathers had something to do with each other's death. Such a shame as they would have made a nice couple if things were not so complicated.
I’m honestly not sure he loved her. Just because he says he did does not mean it is so. Wanting to own and control her is not the same as love and his traumatic history as a child doesn’t magically excuse his behavior.
He never really apologized. Never atoned. He just shows up and says “you still haven’t forgiven me after 7 years” as if that was an expectation. And then 1:40:00 it completely skips any part of him showing remorse; or apologizing, or working to atone and skips to them laughing together. It was a completely unearned ending. the kid tricks his mother into letting her ex into the house and then magically they are back tougher.
It’s a weak and unearned ending from lazy writers. If you want to get them back together, you have to write a redemption arc for the abusive male lead.

If I can forgive a man like this, I am not a woman. Protecting a woman you love should not be this way. It really distorts the emotion of love. Women should protect themselves from such type of love. My greatest regret in all the dramas is that children are used to reconcile the parents no matter how the man treats the woman. Do Chinese males have this kind of stupid mentality. Best ending so far. This show how the man chase the girl after resolving everything.
Did I miss part of the ending? She has to fake her own death to escape him. He shows up after 7 years and the only thing he says is “haven’t you forgiven me yet?” No apology. No declaration of love or remorse. No work to atone and prove he is different. He uses the kid to trick her into letting him enter her house and then it immediately skips to them laughing together. Unsatisfying. He had no real growth. He should have had to demonstrate that he had changed with his words and actions. He didn’t. He also didn’t suffer at all. Just her suffering as usual. He just wanted to show up and magically have her back without earning it.
The rich has no class and the poor has no dignity in these dramas😢

People saying this is the best version of this plot... Have we watched the same drama? Am I crazy to think a guy that cannot protect the woman he dates for 5 years is a scumbag? He sold her out!!!! HE FUC*** SOLD HER OUT! I would never, never, never be back to a man like that! Was she wrong? No, she did what she had to do. My father got cancer a few years ago and I can assure you it is not a fairy tale a prince is not coming for you and nothing absolutely nothing is free in this life. Thankfully I had a good job and my mom had a job as well but we did not know how long it would be so in the end we were almost with no money, but luck me my father got better but if I had to go through it I would for my family. I can relate to her situation as I remember that feeling, I think I will forget until the day I die there is no hope just desperation. FL was strong and amazing, sadly she truly loved him... I was so sad because in all versions that was the only one you could see she loved him, she would do almost anything for him and he did not deserve it.
They are not wrong... Other versions are worse. This at least makes the ML look jealous at some points as opposed to merely possessive.

After watching 1 hr I started to get more and more disturbed that the FL was helplessly bullied whilst the ML continued to contribute to the bullying …. Don’t know if I should continue watching
I stopped. I've seen this story in its entirety once... The ick factor has kept me from getting more than 1/2 hour into the other versions. I just skip to where he's trying to conciliate her.
It would have been a great ending if she had NOT gotten together with him and rejected his pathetic attempts at wanting a second chance.
