I also carry extra oil, diff fluids, coolant, a tarp, breaker bar, bottle jack, extra belt cover bolts, in my cargo box a fire extinguisher and a belt is an absolute must.
Good video. You have a good assortment of tools there. All together you have 3 crescent wrenches including the one in the walmart kit. I would get rid of one crescent wrench and add a flatjawed visegrips to go along with your rounded jaw visegrip. Another thing I do is add a small roll of stainless .032 safety wire. Just wrap about 10 turns around your fingers is enough. Its super strong and can save you in a pinch. Congrats on the baby you seem like a good dad.
Thanks, My kit has evolved a lot since this video. I'm planning to make an update to this hopefully sooner rather than later. Safety wire is a great suggestion, tons of uses for the stuff and it doesn't take up much room. I have didtched the walmart kit too btw. It got me out of a bind several times and didn't take up much space but I broke the ratchet and upgraded to a slightly larger kit that is just sockets. Also added an 18mm wrench for the radius rods.
Nice vid. I try to carry some cash for when you come by a local shop or fuel station some medications like simple stuff, nothing worse then going on a trail ride with heartburn. I'd also add some sun block. Usually always taking fuel with me, very rarely had to use it but constantly filling up others machines so I don't have to tow them home. Be surprised at how many people show up for a trail ride on half a tank and just future they will get through. Your tool kit seems on point, I'd add a knife, I am sure you carry one but having a spare in the tool kit as well as a flashlight and some batteries. Sh!t always happnes in the dark. If you have the room I'd pack a couple small ponchos, the sky's can open up quick or a change of clothes. We tend to do 200 km rides on the quads up here and we run into everything. Keep up the good work !

We both have a set of lightweight rain suits, enough medication to open a pharmacy, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, phone chargers, head lamps, etc. I kind of omitted that by accident. I also don't leave the house without a knife and my pew pew but couldn't show that in the video. We average 100 miles a day when we go ride, Not sure of the miles/ moose track exchange rate lol (assuming Canada eh?)
They're freaking troopers, this one ran for about 2 hours straight while trying to seat the bead on a tire and still works fine. Its about 4 years old and I've aired up everything from pool floats to trailer tires. Definitely the MVP in my opinion.
Believe it or not we've had good luck with belts (knock on wood) we have logged over 5000 miles across 3 belts and none of them broke, they were just changed due to regular maintenance. A belt is one of the biggest things that will leave you stranded, you can limp out with a broken tie rod or trailing arm but a broken belt and your stuck like chuck.
I added more wrenches to my kit, specifically an 18mm because a box end wrench is the only way to remove the radius rods. Also added the 15mm for most of the front suspension. Thanks for the suggestions.
Have you made any changes to your kit since vid? If not I would suggest fire extinguisher like the elements 55, soft shackles and the Colby emergency tire valve replacement!
Thanks for the good suggestions and I did add a few things. I added extra valve stems and cores (Colby valves and sidewall slugs are great options too), I never cared for soft shackles I know the numbers back them up but I always prefer a good steel clevis which I have at least 2 to 4 it all times. I carried an extra axle, tie rod, and quart of oil for a while but they were cumbersome and I noticed they were constantly being left in the truck so I stopped. Definitely added a 5/16 roll pin punch and extra roll pins for front drive shaft and a can of PB blaster to help with stuck axles. There may be some other odds and ends that have trickeled in there over time I cant remember. Fire suppression is definitely a topic of discussion and Ill probably add one when we get our turbo.
Very informative. One should assess the environment they'll be riding in. One should add minimal survival equipment such as a tarp or small tent and camping gear. It's rare but not uncommon to have a breakdown and have to survive the night before hiking out to get help especially if you ride in remote desert or forested areas. If you ride in an OHV park, your needs will be considerably less. Make adjustments as needed. There's a limit as to how much you can carry in your machine.

Not sure if I mention it but I typically ride in East Tn trail systems like Windrock, Royal Blue, and Tackett. Usually you're only a couple hours hike from a dirt road you can get a truck and trailer on. Wouldn't be a bad idea to throw a space blanket or two in there just in case. I keep plenty of fire supplies, first aid, and food/water.
don't misunderestimate that fancy machete you have I have a fiskars saw that looks identical to that and it's what's called a back cut saw,,, I think it's Japanese design and if you need to cut down some little saplings or some firewood or some three little trees are in the way or limbs or whatever that thing is incredible cuts so fast but it cuts on the backstroke instead of the four stroke and for some reason that is so much easier is more ergonomic......you should whip it out and try it sometime you probably use it a lot more than you think you would
I've never used the saw, I'm a little impatience and like the instant gratification from swinging the machete lol This is by far the best machete I own, I've used this Fiskar machete to cut trees up to 8" in diameter and it handles it like a boss. It stays sharp and it's so heavy on the end that it chops through 1-2" limbs and saplings with a single whack. Next time I have it out I'll definitely give the saw a try. I've contemplated adding a dedicated saw, something like a folding silky saw, so if that saw works out decent it'll solve that problem too.
Ive thought about adding a small gas chainsaw to the kit something like the Stihl Ms 194 T so it doesnt take up a lot of space. My only concern with battery power is remembering to charge the batteries lol
@@BCDriven yes!! I plan to carry a Dewalt Battery powered in my SxS when we go on trail rides, but when we work on our snowmobile trails Ill also have my red max gas saw on board. I think there are two thing ALL SxS and Quads should carry, and most dont, and that is a chain saw and a fire ext.
@@BCDriven The mounting of the saws will happen when I get my SxS sometime this month I hope. I think one saw will be mounted to a bar on the back some place and maybe the battery one in the trunk. On trail rides the battery saw will be in the trunk. I hope this helps!!

I have same compressor from Farm and Fleet in WI. Bounced around for four years in my ATV,,, still works fine.

I suggest getting a 15mm sockets (6/12 point). Open and box end wrench in 15mm

I actually sold this Trails and Rock edition about a year ago and got a turbo. It had right close to 2000 miles on it when I sold it.

I would carry a high lift jack
Man I can definitely see the usefulness of a high lift but at the same time, they're a handful to pack around.
