  • This was a very different trip for me. Took my Border Collie for a quick overnight. Turned out that I learned what will be my biggest challenge to solo tripping - dealing with boredom.
Seton & Yellow Quill trail information can be found on the Manitoba Parks website here: www.gov.mb.ca/s...
Garbage cans are usually located in the cabins, but I try to avoid using them in summer as they are not critter proof and day hikers often leave the doors wide open when they leave.

Thanks for the video! I agree the Seton trail is nicer. Those rolling hills are fun to ski. We are actually going for an overnight hike on Epinette this Friday and Saturday.

Your welcome Tom, hope your weather is good. My next trip is a hot tent fall outing.

My collie is 8 years old and is on leash maybe 5% of her life.
We’re talking about the most amazing breed when it comes to athletics and obedience?
So why do you keep her leashed on your trips?
I live in north west Montana and the only issue I have had is her standing up to a grizz a little too brave like
So no disrespect? Just curiosity on why
Ps: doesn’t look very boring out there too me.

Hi Jared, thanks for the comments. Sophie has great recall but our parks have a rule that dogs must be leashed. I choose to follow that rule as our parks are shared public spaces and not all other users will appreciate a loose dog. If I am on a trail that posts dogs should be leashed - we will respect that. As for boring - as i noted I was just not prepared for it and that site has little amenities, many day hikers, and I was at camp way too early. After we met up with my companions on the other trail we had a great time. Sophie even played with the other dog.

Oh boy, next time you are bored, you are welcomed to trade places with me. :) I could use some peace and quiet in the woods!

Normally, I would have welcomed the peace and quiet. The phrase "silence is deafening" comes to mind for that trip. In the end it all worked out and I accomplished what I set out to do. Thanks for watching and your comment.
