The gentleman quoted as saying "An Englishman's home is his castle" was Jason Russell. He was killed on his doorstep along with 11 other militia members and two Grenadiers. The house with several musket ball holes still stands and can be visited here in Arlington.

I’ve read a few books on this day. The minute men and militias were so ready! I didn’t realize before either about how much they drilled each week and were prepared for conflict! Before, I imagined it just being a skirmish that broke out, but now I learned how much the locals prepared and organized for such an event

@@michaelscherer6416and our current government HATES us citizen militia. The citizen militia prominently recognized in the U.S. Constitution. Government refuses to recognize they are under the people. Government HATES a people who are above them, control the government and every government employee and every property being owned by the people. Current government has multiple Bills they want to pass against The People and The People’s Militia. This is an incredible narration! Even as an American, my heart goes out to the British mindset of WTF just happened!?! (After the first shot) and the terror of knowing the militia are rushing through the woods ahead of you before getting ambushed on the road. My emotions rose with the patriot mindset of (it’s on now, no turning back). Real people with real lives.

Interesting to see the British perspective on this. Left out that the British were marching to disarm the militia of a cannon. That's why the militia knew where the British were headed. Also interesting to hear your take on the Boston Tea Party. They weren't protesting the increased price of smuggled tea, they were protesting the tax on tea. One other observation: I question your depiction of the British striking into the woods to address militia that was "hiding behind walls". The road and the walls are still there in some places. The walls the militia were hiding behind were no more than 20 feet (3 meters) from the British column. Not much chasing into the woods to be done. However, if you stop to engage, more will get shot as fighting against this kind of uprising is like trying to push the ocean back. The farther and longer you push, the wetter you get.

First goal is to get you guys to take off with your coverage of the American Revolutionary War which is insanely under covered on UA-cam. But from there you really could cover so much more the way you guys are doing this. 18th century warfare is so under covered on UA-cam and you guys do it amazingly well! From I'd like to see you guys do this for the US Civil War, Napoleonic Wars, the war of 1812, 7 years/French and Indian war, the *British Civil War*, British and East India Company wars with the Indian Kingdoms/Princedoms and more!
You guys are filling such a massive whole in the YT history industry! Great job guys, keep up the great work! You guys will take off soon if you keep up coverage like this!

Warmonger industry of firearms today, 2023, should be reversed. Do you see
anybody terrorizing your village, town, city ? No ? “ The Second Amendment, ( or
Bill of Rights ) ratified in 1791 “ A well regulated militia, being necessary to the Security of a free state……” need against fellow citizen ? Obvious hunters have rifles they hunt with. Seems handguns are products of mounting cowardness,
racial misunderstanding, and lack of 10 Commandments of July 4, year 300 BC taught to younger, middle aged, and older folks. “scientific material madness,” as
Jim McGuinn sang in a Byrds song, or, “Saturday night gun special,” sang by Ronnie Van Zant .

That's an ongoing argument, whether Lexington or Concord fired the first shots of the war. To me, it's Lexington that earned the credit. That's where the "mysterious" shot was fired that started an exchange of bullets. Many believe it was Sam Adam's who fired that shot; he always was a trouble-maker, and a member of The Sons of Liberty. Glad that we're all friends now and enjoy a "special relationship".

Hi I just subscribed and just saying but I can’t wait to see the battle of Monmouth and I can’t wait to see it because I grew up and still live in Monmouth county and when I was growing up I never knew anything about the battle but I also can’t wait to see the episodes with the 42nd regiment of foot and I can’t wait to see those episodes because you see I play the tenor drum in a bagpipe and drum band that is named after the 42nd regiment of foot aka the BLACK WATCH and if you don’t mind me asking but can you do a video on what life was like in a pow camp during the revolutionary war and I am asking because during the revolutionary war my 6th and 5th great grandpa’s John Andrew and George Weikert were guards at a place called camp security outside of York pa.

Thanks to this video, I did a quick read on William Pitt. I like him. Seemed sensible.
    I'm also American.
I wonder what his reaction of American Independence would've been had he lived long enough to see it.

My wife's ancestor was a Minute Man and was killed by the first volley of British shots at Concord Bridge. One of my ancestors, fought in the Southern Theater and was a Lt. Colonel in the North Carolina Militia at Kings Mountain and Cowpens.
A little known fact of the Amrican Revolution is Britain's need for cash after the virtual bancruptcy of the British Eash India Company,

No, it was the virtual bankruptcy of the seven years war, which they had fought for the colonies and the British governments hesitation to advance Westerly to take lands which belonged to France.

It’s amazing how both sides’ leaders blundered and misstepped their way into war, and I say that as lifelong Massachusetts resident.

Anyone else reminded a bit of the Teutoberg forest there at the end? A disciplined force of regulars on a road slowly getting picked off by a lesser armed but determined group fighting in their home woods?
