I've been jerked around by my tuner for 7 weeks. I was 20 hours away from.missing bimmerinvasion tomorrow and I posted on bimmerpost about my situation. Just a rant really. A got a pm about my problem within an hour of posting. The next 3 hours were spent logging and tuning. I now make 625whp and 600 torque. Car feels oem till you step on it. The tuner that let me down I'm not going to name. The tuner that saved me... Odin. Incredible tuner. Incredible human being. He made sure I got to the event safely and then kept sending the revision. I am truly humbled to have worked with the guy. I cannot believe a stranger worked into the night from the other end of the world so another stranger could go to a show. Still shocked. See you all tomorrow 😊
Absolutely name the tuner and prevent someone else the problems you had.
That's the beauty of the car community ... People go out of their way to support another person who loves cars just like they do 😊

David Shoup is a goto tuner on BMW's, he's honest with a ton of knowledge and experience. He's tuned thousands of beemers at this point, If anyone is looking for a tuner I cant recommend him enough.
I think the idea is a great one. We need to have a platform for anyone can access, in a one stop shop, for determine the best tuner for whatever platform we have. I personally have used Visconti, Marin, and Botti. Botti was the best for troubleshooting and getting my power goals to my expectations. I did upload on your link, as my personal experience with Mike Botti.

Tbh an app would work best for this particular idea (tuner registry) I’ve thought of this same idea many years ago however the story of my life took place which is the lack of support which seems like this wouldn’t be an achilles heel for yourself so I say yes push forward and get it done.

I was playing with an idea along these lines where you could upload a log (the log would have to be a CSV) and you can see all of the fields the log has on line graphs per field (Boost, fuel pressure oil pressure, AFR, etc). I think there’s something there too, I just haven’t been able to double-down and explore it more as of yet (I have another project I’m working on 😅). I wanted to upload builds, have a history of logs, upload parts for the car, etc, very similar to what you’re talking about. I’m hoping to get back to it soon though.
Adding a State sort function would be great as well.....
Is there a way yet to access the directory? This coming spring I'm going to be needing a tuner for my n54. Going ST.

It would be great to see a link to the end users datazap or logs. This way we could see an example of what to expect from said tuner. Not everyone knows how to read a log and may think their tuner is the greatest but the logs could show something completely different that the user may not be aware of.
The title says one thing than when I comes down to finding a good turner it’s crazy how many of these turners take question as you need to pay them lol , MF charge 600-2000$ for a tune and can’t answer a simple what seeking is best for your tuning style without them asking for money beside Steve at wedge answers question no money asked
Jon of JSRTuning is one to consider. My car pulls like crazy on just stock turbos, will definitely be returning to him when I upgrade. He works around the clock, I’ve gotten revisions from him late at night, during holidays, and even when he’s on vacation! Very personable guy as well, and is fascinated with any build you present to him for tune from simple to complex.

Im going ST in about a week or 2. As soon as I figure out if im going push lock vacuum or steel braid. Honestly im a little concerned because currently my car FBO is pretty squirly under boost with the open diff. I might upgrade my rear end with the legit garage ford rear end setup before I swap in the ST. Although I already have the Speedtech kit ready to go with a 6266. The car is SO fast right now I can only imagine with the ST. Currently ran a 12.5 at 116 mph! on street tires. If I had slicks and could actually launch the car it would be a mid 11 sec car! with just bolt ons and proper maintenance.
I also gotta find a tuner in the next week or 2.
absolutely agree. i found mine in Seattle and Russia. And I'm in Houston. once you find some one who is well versed in your type motor and car completely as a whole, stick with them. real tuners give support. And good advice. And good tuners just don't try to get more money from you to help with their tune. ive been lucky enough to find these guys and also not get caught up in the hypw of bashings in blogs and social media. Do your home work yah. It takes time but it is way worth it.

If you have an N54 PURE EVIL IS THE WAY TO GO. I’ve raced every N54 mod for mod and single turbo n54’s in my area and have yet to lose to one. I promise the man is the goat
