- We have arrived at our first port, Puerto Vallarta! We try out the local tacos, birria, and tortas. And, a special nighttime excursion, Rhythm of the Night! Picture a mix between Cirque du Soleil and a Latin Luau and you have a spectacular show with an unlimited dinner buffet!

Puerto Vallarta is the best Mexico travel deal. Classic Mexico and nice food. Our friends went to Cabo and spent more on the Cabo trip, compared to their London vacation. Have a nice time🌟🌟🕶

I have a timeshare near the marina and I love it there. The best excursion is the whale watching. You can go out on 14 foot inflatable boats with 2 big outboard motors. They speed to areas scouted by spotter aircraft. Spectacular view from 4 feet above the surface of the water. I do it every time I’m there. Also old town is wonderful with friendly locals and a great artisan farmers market on Saturday and art walk on Tuesday night I believe

The Rhythm of The Night show looked really neat. Dinner and a show for about the same price as a show alone in Vegas.

BTW, those crispy fried tortillas in sugar look like bunuelos in triangle form. We eat them at Christmas time but the whole big tortilla version. 🎄
They're delicious! We've been to a place here in LA where they drizzle some caramel on top of those chips, those are great too!

Great Video, I will be onboard Panorama tomorrow, This will be my 3rd time this year. Also been to Rythms of the Night throughout the years and the show has changed so much. Also I prefer the night show, back in September prior to the Time Change, the show was during the day light times and it’s just blah, the night show has those color lights that will enhance the overall experience. I am surprised you haven't had marlin before. Its like the poor man's poke. The show with the buffet looked pretty fun. I like how Bill homed in on the steak. Buffet priority number one is the steak or prime rib.
You are brave eating at those local places. Food looks delicious. The dinner place looks like Las Caletas, is it? I went during the day. They had a buffet and a lot of activities and trails to explore and enjoy the views. I went in February at we saw more whales going there than in any other place.
I think it is so cool that you guys went to my old neighborhood the Aramara to eat. LOVE those torts too I have had many their.

I'm a long time subscriber ...enjoy your videos! Im retired army & retired alaska airlines and used to fly to mexico a lot . ( non rev ) I always worried about getting sick eating food from the mexican venders. I only bought churros from the street. Wondering if you have any concern about that? Thanks !!
Our only concern is if we see a street food vendor with no customers. If it's crowded, pretty good indication that locals trust the place. Got to love the non-rev life!

Hi guys loving this series. Question, did you purchase the drink package? I’m not a big alcohol or soda drinker but is it worth it for other non-alcoholic drinks? Thanks
I think we did get the Cheers (alcohol) package on this cruise. If you're going to load up on specialty coffees, milkshakes, Gatorades, mineral water, bottled waters, etc. (you get the idea), then it 'may' be worth it. Keep in mind, if you get the Cheers package, everyone 21 and over in your cabin also has to get the package too. If you're going to get it, buy it early online prior to your cruise to get the best price as you'll pay more once you're onboard.
Food looks yummy. Question….when buying lunch did you spend dollars, pesos, or credit card in Mexico?
We used pesos.

We had leftover pesos from prior trips to Mexico.
I enjoyed this video very much. We've only done the ATV's in Puerto Vallarta, but this excursion looked like so much fun. The video bomb at the end was hilarious. That crewman was very sneaky. Lol. 😂 BTW, did you take your NOLA Shark 🦈 on trips with you, our does he stay home and look after things while you're gone? 🤗 Looking forward to the next vlog

Do they take credit cards at the Taco place? Other currency confuses me. Using the card makes it easier. Lol
I don't think they accept credit cards. Usually only bigger, chain restaurants, eateries in hotels and resorts accept cc's, those are the ones that we would feel safe using them. Good news is, most all will generally take US cash, but you won't get the best and most up to date exchange rate.
I found the taco segment most fascinating. What percentage of cruisers in Puerto Vallarta actually get out of their comfort zone and do the same thing, visiting the local eateries...maybe 5%?
Maybe less? We didn't see any cruisers in the spots we went.

We used pesos. Have quite a bit from previous trips to Mexico.
What is the app you used for currency and list the restaurants you ate ate
app is called Units Plus Lite. We use Yelp for restaurant recommendations and ratings.

I noticed not from just YOUR vlogs but others where there in Mexico, why do most the restaurants serve the food on wax paper? Do they not wash the plates in between customers?? Why not use paper or plastic???? Very curious
Of course they do.
Most street vendors put the plate in a plastic bag or some type of paper on the plate, then dispose the bag/paper after eating. Cost perhaps?
