Great video as always brother cant wait to see what you can do with this cartridge once you start getting things dialed in and start stretching it out!!!
Interesting video I just worked up a load for my 6 ARC using 87gr Hornady Varmint BTHP w/ Shooters world Match rifle powder in my opinion anything CFE 223 can do SWMR does it better and faster my favorite powder for a variety of cartridges it's velocities for 105gr Hornady bthp M in my 20" BA barrel 2753fps .33 MOA @ 100yds. Keep up the great work btw I just subscribed I watched a video regarding Humidity your reloading room and how it can effect your load and data on virtually a daily basis with in tolerance due to how moisture from the humidity can effect your powder weight at the time of dropping powder. Well safe shooting guy
Pretty good groups for fire forming. Pisses me off that Hornady puts out a new cartridge and overhypes the crap out of it, only to let re-loaders down by not putting any damn brass out on the shelves.
Have you tested load for load these primers vs cci #41 primers??? I see some of these primers available but I don’t want to roll the dice unless they are pretty much the same as CCI#41
The question is... did the groups tighten up becaue of the load or because the barrel was fouled instead of clean. I'd venture a guess that it's the latter. You should shoot the same test again but with a barrel you know is dirty. Just my hyposthesis.
Hey Rob, Impressive groups, I have some questions for you about your Savage, I was looking at this same gun to set up for a budget PRS rifle, I have a Savage 110 tactical in 308 that shoots 1/2 Moa all day with my hand loads off a cheap bipod, I'm so impressed with how well it shoots, I would buy a Savage Elite Precision if they offered it in 6arc but they don't....anyway is that a standard AICS mag? or do you need a special mag? and, have you had any feeding or ejection issues using the 6arc in a savage action? is the Savage bolt face the same as the 308 or 6.5 Creed? also, is the barrel heavy enough to take 10 or 15 shots in a row? that is really my only concern for PRS shooting. By the way if you can find some Shooters World Precision Rifle Powder or Shooters World AR Plus powder try it out I've had my best groups with it, better than Varget and RL15 and its almost half the price
I've got some 65gr I'm gonna play around with as well. Snagged some more of the 108 eld, 103eldx, and berger 95 vld today on sale. A lot of playing with 6 arc planned. Currently looking at r15 loads with the 108.
Mr. Rob, I’m thinking of building a 110 Switchback like yours. I’m curious, when you switched to the MDT chassis, did the magazine feed properly, going from the little savage mag to the AICS?
I am currently using an mdt 6arc mag as well. The 6 Arc mag has fed without a hitch. The 308 AICS mag fed decent with some issues on the last round of the mag.
I'm getting ready to start messing with some of the extruded powders. Hornady doesn't list many. Hoping some other manufacturers will come out with some more options for published load data. Seems like n140 would be perfect burn rate, but no avail load data.
@@RobsReloading Hornady does list the N140 for the gas gun data. With the 108 grain ELD-M loaded to 1.300" as you did previously, QL says 27 grains reaches max pressure and might get you to 2634 fps. They list 26.9 grains as maximum for the gas gun.
@@dahut3614 I have some n540 locally. Wonder if I should go pick up a can. I don't see why hornady didn't show any love to the more temp stabile powders
@@RobsReloadingAccording to QL, there are *a lot* of powders that would work when I tried them with the 105 grain BTHP. I literally saved the QL results from twenty three possibilities, and that wasn't even all of them!
I did that thing with my ejector where you grind it at a 45° angle and it helped a lot with the feeding. I figured I could always get a new one if it didn't work out. ua-cam.com/video/rioxsTOsTxg/v-deo.html There is a link to his original forum post in the comments. I got a kick out of the savages hooters thing- but I just may be the only one.
Thanks for the testing Rob!
Great video as always brother cant wait to see what you can do with this cartridge once you start getting things dialed in and start stretching it out!!!
It looks very promising .
Nice shooting!!
Good stuff
Looks very good for a varmint load already. I’m betting the Berger 88 grainers would also be a winner.
Keep going, CFE likes pressure.

Really like this seed in 243. Savage looks great.
morning Rob 🌄 🌅 🌄

it is fairly easy to make out of grendel brass.
Group #3 was awesome! 30.1 Gr.
Great groups partner. Way to go. Coyote busting loadings for sure.
Looking forward to this series. Considerinv 6mm ARC for AR.

Impressive 👍
Why so slow out of 22inch? I thought with an 18 inch the 103s are getting 2750-2800?
I'm not a reloader so excuse my ignorance.
Noce vid.
Id be curious what the velocities could be achieved out of a 16inch barrel with lite loads like this, cant find much on it
What would your groups look like between those two best groups? Maybe there is a good solid node there? ? ?

At 30.4 what was your case fill? It looks like you have a good load right there.
What program are you using on your phone to get your velocity and SD ? ? ?
Anyway you want to try the 103 eldx with the cfe223?
I was wondering how it might do with lighter bullets. Not bad!

Where did u pick the switchback up at I can't find one except for sportsman warehouse which is now we're around me
It's an exclusive with sportsmans
@@RobsReloading thanks Rob I was looking all over.
It looks like they have an option to ship it to your local FFL.
QuickLOAD is not even in the ballpark with CFE 223. It says pressure and velocity are much lower and burn is 94%.

Is that savage a short action? what size mags are you using?
Short action, regular aics pattern 308 mag. It has worked okay so far. Going to get one of the mdt arc specific mags
@@RobsReloading
Another guy said the 224 Valkyrie mag works as well. Specific would be awesome thx for video.
Don’t know your powder selection. I play a lot with 223. I’d recommend trying leverevolution, aa2520 for heavies, and aa2230 for lighter projectiles.
