Hey just another tip, always let the public see your obby in WIP! It’s more fun to see obbys progress then a sign saying “DONT COME IN WIP!”.
But what if the mechanics are finished for the player

You can build while earning likes, likes can probably give you motivation
Like myself, i dont mind people going to my obbies when im building. I was building a big project (hint its a flood escape theme cuz yes lol)
I think another good piece of advice is to try your hardest to throw in a variety of different things into your obby, imo jumping around from place to place can get boring, and having an interactive game/obby can do all the more better to the quality
Yes but having a ton of diffrent obstacles can be a mess as they can be a bit much and might not fit the theme
@@lienesauserde7419 I wasn't suggesting throwing in random stuff, but moreso a more dynamic and unique obstacle course to fit the theme, i do understand if my point didnt come across properly- though
I’ve been trying to make an original obby and with all the modeling done manually, it takes a while. But it definitely checks out, since it has gotten me a solid 20 likes without me even finishing the second level yet! Best part is I am actually proud of the progress I’ve made! Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it soon.

I've got another tip but it might be a little bit too tricky, here:
since the trending board resets per week, and if you REALLY want likes, you should go to a public server right as the trending board resets, when they reset you just need to get a few players to like your obbies in a server. But don't expect this to be an easy thing to do, there are competitors who also do this same trick, i once did this trick and i went from 35 likes to 998 likes in just a week.
(also i kinda disagree about the jtoh genre, theres actually alot of ways you can make towers and it's not just generic, some can also be REALLY good and creative if you can JUST make it "good".)

I'm actually one of the very rare people that tries to experiment with mechanics like falling platforms to make many unique obstacles with them. The problem in this creativity is that it naturally makes my obbies too hard for like 95% of people that play this.
one thing i’d like to add is that likes shouldn’t really matter at first and your main focus should be on having fun. Likes shouldn't be your top priority.
It always pisses me off when i see obbies that just use premades get featured

bro fr ty u so much i was struggling with getting likes when i made good showcases but not many likes, but really its not about the detail, its about creativity thanks so much
2nd tip is actually helpfull for me cause i made a retro house and it actually looked good with my goofy building skills
#8 tip: consider your obby location is not far from checkpoints, it maybe can make player just join can come to your obby
Bonus tip: if you are lazy, just put a text "Liking people obby if they liked me" It somehow works for me
Tip: Go in private servers to practice your Obbys or make your obby there!
bad advice, one of my obbys took a month to make and I got 236 likes in that time span!! if you want people to like your obby you can’t be in a private server. the only benefit for being in a private server is the admin commands you get and that’s it. I don’t think you should spend any time in private servers if your goal is to get likes
honestly the most unique obby idea i have thought of in a while is a "sword obby" where you can only jump using the sword-lunge
I have a JToH recreation, I know this is tips for likes but to be honest, the obby making is not about how many likes you've gotten, it's how many memories, and friends you made along with it, as well as how well you enjoyed making the obby

My most popular one is definitely the one with the most thought put into it and creativity
The 5th tip isn't too important, just don't make your towers boring containing bad gameplay, creativity and design.
You can get a bunch of likes if the difficulty isn't too high (I recommend building towers below terrifying difficulty)

Better thing. you still can use premades... just.. change them.. If you don't know what to do. and you just think of a good obby. you can use premades. but you have to change them if you want likes.

I kinda suggest maybe not doing slap battles PVP games, but it’s still fine because there’s only around 50 featured SB builds as I remember. (I saw a featured guy who made an SB game that’s featured in a server)
This gives me alot of motivation to make showcases!

I highly reccomend so. Details add alot to the ambiance whilst making you more imersed.

ive actually not seen anyone make what i did. so my build is very underrated. i made a obby called people experiment. so what it is well pretty simple! you experiment on people using buttons and you can be the one that suffers! no worrys its atleast fun to survive someones chaos.

I don't want making showcases, showcases are just for to look at. Nothing interesting to me, I want my obbys to be enjoyable, I want to make people happy and smile. One of the ways to do that is with friends, so I made a 2 player obby, and also the obby is a remake of another game that'll remind them of their old days as kids, so I made it a remake if Fireboy and Watergirl

Ngl that’s good advice but i have a UNIQUE(Working Slap Battles in Obby Creator), INTERESTING(Tons of different fanmade gloves like Smart or Backrooms) and NOT DIFFICULT(Badges aren’t really easy to get, but there are hints everywhere on the map)obby and it has only 40-45 likes. That’s probably because a lot of people who visit my obby not only are noobs (fall on bridges which aren’t even supposed to be parkour) but they aren’t even TRYING to do something (they just use your sword infinite times without even trying to ask a question about this game) and after some time, they leave cuz they think it’s boring

I started Making Original Obby In Obby creator After the first one I made that included Premades It’s Like a obby that includes Several games just like roblox and I started using My own premades and it’s much much better now!
Also another tip try making machines near you likes for people to see the like machine and want to likeit
The only premade part that is good to use is the spinner because you can delete lava and get a unique conveyor
Well i know that a lot of ppl do slap battles maps and working gloves (the ability) so I kinda did the same but with no working gloves , a tiny slap battles map
I am an experienced builder, but I’m demotivated after 10 hours of building on 10 hours, also I make JToH builds just because I like it.
Tip change your move grid in settings to 0.1 (it’s what I use) then your upgrade a lot

2. Put thought into your obby
3. Focus on imagination rather than skill
4. Dont use premades
5. Try making showcases based around images
6. Avoid tower/JTOH obbies

Bro I had one obby that use to have 150 likes and I made like a replica of the epik model shop but I added a few touches like a 3rd floor and a food court and somehow it went to 150 to 1,285 likes I’m really happy about it
remember when we used long stretched checkpoints and reset parts to make teleport pads?
Long checkpoints are still used for death screens and other stuff tho

So I'm good at Imagination, but the part limit stresses me. Some people will be like "make a game In roblox studio."
But obby creator Is much simpler for me. So I'm sticking to obby creator and wont be a roblox studio nerd.

It was just the childs and noobs
I made a outdoor themed obby and its at 81 but then i see door obbies sitting at 200+ and it really annoying seeing how i use most of my creativity making an obby then seeing a doors obby without an original idea
It’s mainly the first doors obbies that got featured. The descendants of those do not get any traction.

it depends on the obby honestly. alot of noobs play the game so keep that in mind.
also some people delete their entire obby when it gets featured or they make it 10x worse.

So about the trend thing,you can still make overused obbies and get lots of likes. Since i made a doors fangame, it racked up 70+ likes.
Man I keep making my obby harder without realizing- also my obbys name is ( Treasure catching )
Here's an other other tip you can make animations and get likes per minute and to get more and more likes use premade and make some designs to it to get more likes
