This poker scene was what first got me watching CURB after watching this UA-cam vid of Gervais interviewing LD. I have watched all 7 series and have just watched episode 1 of series 8 - love it! best comedy show ever!!!!
America loves Ricky Gervais. Our favorite Imp! Larry David's humor style has shaped America's best sense of laughter. Wish he had always been in the foreground instead of his ideas leached off by networks. He and Ricky....?? Just roll it and magis will happen. Larry Charles and Larry David = magic heroes of comedy
Two of the greatest TV writers of all time...Seinfeild changed the structure of sitcom comedey and The Office and Extras changed the way of incorporating drama into comedey and makin it into a serial masterpeice.
Oh, I get it. Like from the show. You referenced what everybody is here for and watching. You typed what the people on the screen were saying. You're a part of it. Kudos. Kudos to you.
Curb your enthusiasm is the funniest American show I've seen, not your average generic bullshit but very cleverly written, timing the dryness is spot on !
This is great, I will never forget the first time I scene the restaurant scene, and then the 20 times I rewound it there after, might of been of the funniest things to watch ever, period!
@3replybiz the office is less repeatable than only fools because it's less generic and broad, but to all comedy enthusiast it will always be remembered as one of the greatest british comedies to have ever been programmed.
Thanks poster. It's an epic day when you find something worthwhile on youtube ;P As for the rest of you... sheesh! What's with all the 'tude? Incidentally, ripping on the American office is fashionable and all, but it grew into a really excellent show, funny for different reasons than the British one.
We can't get this show in the US so I have to watch it on youtube. but at least I found out about Extras. I love, love love, that show and Ricky Gervais.
I love Ricky and Larry... Ricky is so loveable, because he has this amazing duality. Having one very sharp sarcastic side, and one very soft and kind of insecure...
i admire both of them for what they have created, but i see the office, seinfeld/curb your enthusiasm, and arrested development as three groundbreaking and different types of comedy. each of their creators have a different brand of humor and are downright hilarious- by far the shows i have enjoyed the most, but i don't think you can straight-up compare them.
The 2 best comedians in the world today and importantly they both seem to be naturally funny and have that slight air of eccentricity that creates genius! Both have re-defined their respective genres and they push the boundaries far more than anyone else on TV. As Ricky points out there are a million stand-ups and in truth very few now seem original. Ricky and Larry both do stand up well, but there's only so far you can go with that medium and their strength is in sitcoms anyway.
They both understand in creating a character too, Ricky & Larry generally play themselves , a caricature of themselves. Ricky did the same with Karl too
Extras was a great series. It captured the struggles of real people trying to make it in the world, and it was funny as hell. Which is what he`s portrayed in recent films he has made. Still the shallow and superficial style humor like Larry Davids is trully present in what he`s done
The great Michael York awkwardly swearing made that episode of Curb for me.
Two of the greatest, geniuses and comedic minds ever to meet.
Larry and Ricky both my fav comedy actors and writers, great to see them interact
Gervais' stand up never fails to have my hysterical. If you haven't seen AFTER LIFE, you've got something to look forward to.
The meeting of two GODS, two Geniuses!! Ive seen this special so many times, never gets old!
Quite literally...two of the funniest, wittiest people that have ever existed.
This poker scene was what first got me watching CURB after watching this UA-cam vid of Gervais interviewing LD.
I have watched all 7 series and have just watched episode 1 of series 8 - love it! best comedy show ever!!!!
This makes me want to watch Curb.
I saw this interview and immediately bought curb your enthusiasm on dvd. LOVE IT!
Curb and Extras = TWO OF THE FUNNIEST SHOWS EVER. Ricky and Larry = COMEDY BOSSES
two of the greatest men ever to grace our screens
I'll bet Ricky was really thrilled that he was able to make Larry laugh. I know I would be!
My two fave comedians of all time!!
Together!!
What bliss!!
2 of my heroes right here.
I haven't watched much of Larry David, but that exert from the restaurant was one of the funniest things I have seen for a long time
God I love these two and I love seeing them make each other laugh.
Two of the funniest guys ever !
This Was One Of The Best Things Ever For Me, They Are My Two Favourite Comedians Of All Time, TOGETHER!!! =D
Thanks For Posting This
x
both absolute geniuses!! the top 2 comedians in the world in my opinion!!
Ricky Gervais has the most infectious laugh.
poker scene with the awkward silence was funny as hell
I like how he made sure to double check that Larry would know who we was, and hadn't just confused him with someone else.
Curb Your Enthusiasm........Best show on TV by far.
Two of the greatest TV writers of all time...Seinfeild changed the structure of sitcom comedey and The Office and Extras changed the way of incorporating drama into comedey and makin it into a serial masterpeice.
Larry David was reflecting the Groucho poster behind him.
Its good to compare two comedians together in this format. Im impressed with Ricky Gs improv skills.
Thanks for uploading this. One of my favorite series of videos to watch on here.
This comment chain is just the gift that keeps on giving
lol I love em both. The masters of making me laugh my ass off while cringing in horror.
"Would you like chapstick?"
"What's that?"
"For chapped lips"
"No-"

“2 men as secure as we are, I don’t think it’s a problem” goddamn these are the two funniest people on the planet
Oh, I get it. Like from the show. You referenced what everybody is here for and watching. You typed what the people on the screen were saying. You're a part of it. Kudos. Kudos to you.
I watch this interview all the time.
I literally watched that restaurant scene 50 times when I first saw it. it's so perfect
Four minutes 43 seconds, I think that’s the first and only time I’ve ever seen LD without his glasses
Two guys who never rehearse and in doing so create comedy gems ...
two of my favourite people ever.
"I'll have one of the Vanilla bulls*** things!!"
I love both of them
I love Ricky!!
I love that guy cursing with the glasses who like blanks out "Fart um......Crap um...."
LOL!!!
they're so scared of meeting each other you know they're going to get on well.
I hate to say it but I loved the last second of the video.
Really, comedy gold genius.
My two favorite people. They're both brilliant.
Comedy store, Korean bloke, ethnic parenting = Bobby Lee lmao
My two fave comedians in the world. This is going
to be GREAT!!
Thank you so much!! I've been looking so long for this!! thank you!
Curb your enthusiasm is the funniest American show I've seen, not your average generic bullshit but very cleverly written, timing the dryness is spot on !
Comic geniuses. Seriously the funniest men in the world.
this shit is too funny. watching this and the seinfeld roundtable can really lift your day.
Indeed! You must be a proud mentor!
This is great, I will never forget the first time I scene the restaurant scene, and then the 20 times I rewound it there after, might of been of the funniest things to watch ever, period!
Curb is the funniest tv show ever.
Sweet - RG so excited about meeting LD.
All my favorite comedians! I'll be looking forward to seeing your stuff.
These two are made for each other
love larry david. and ricky gervais. great to see them together
Larry just always looks like he’s in Curb your Enthusiasm lol
@3replybiz the office is less repeatable than only fools because it's less generic and broad, but to all comedy enthusiast it will always be remembered as one of the greatest british comedies to have ever been programmed.
I love how Larry David has like 600 million dollars and still has his office in this shared office building.
these 2 guys should have thier own show together, am i the 1st to say that?
two of the best comedians alive
"so you assume your lips are being mollycoddled, and they need to go out there and be a man"
larry's laugh at that is my favourite part
Larry David and Ricky Gervais are comedy geniuses, and this was a great interview. Thumbs up up up
these two are awesome
Great song choice!!
Everything that Larry David does feels like an episode of CYE. Every interview he does. It's awkward, yet genius. :P
i love how michael york used the word "fart" as a swear word
Watching the poker scene in this interview was what led me on to Curb a couple of years back. Thanks Anteatr23!
Thanks poster. It's an epic day when you find something worthwhile on youtube ;P
As for the rest of you... sheesh! What's with all the 'tude?
Incidentally, ripping on the American office is fashionable and all, but it grew into a really excellent show, funny for different reasons than the British one.
Legends.
this video is pretty good.
prettay....prettay....prettay

two of the funniest people on earth!
Great stuff
We can't get this show in the US so I have to watch it on youtube. but at least I found out about Extras. I love, love love, that show and Ricky Gervais.
I love Ricky and Larry... Ricky is so loveable, because he has this amazing duality. Having one very sharp sarcastic side, and one very soft and kind of insecure...
both great people, love their work
Going to have Milk and coffee now, what a treat.
two of the funniest people on the planet.
just brilliant..these blokes get it...I'd love to see Larry and Rickky put their heads together on a project....
unclegaz
Hate someone you've never met for reasons that are trivial? You seem like an intelligent individual.
I love it when Larry David is so surprised they have to do a retake at 3:21 because in Larry's tv show Curb, they always finish in one take.
That was perfect.
Two of my best comedian's and creators
Great interview but I'm surprised by the oddly low-budget production quality coming from Channel Four.
LOL that was so great. It is so easy to understand what he means. I miss the days ordering coffee did not require study time.
How many Larry Davids does it take to screw in a light bulb?
.
Only one. Because there is only one Larry David...
and he is THAT good.
They are both comic geniuses.
i admire both of them for what they have created, but i see the office, seinfeld/curb your enthusiasm, and arrested development as three groundbreaking and different types of comedy. each of their creators have a different brand of humor and are downright hilarious- by far the shows i have enjoyed the most, but i don't think you can straight-up compare them.

"i'm thin in america" :)

'And i'll have a vanilla...one of the vanilla bullshit things'....fantastic:)
Ricky: "I'm thin in America."
[[cut to Ricky standing next to LD]]

Lady: "I'm giving you chap stick" Larry: "No!"........CLASSIC!
