Can you tell me what is your opinion of the tassie blackwood over say EIR for the back and sides. I'm considering the blackwood over the rosewood for a signature model that usually comes with EIR.
Hi Stephen, we suggest performing an Advanced Search on our website (www.dreamguitars.com) to display all the instruments we've had with Blackwood, take a look and listen to the videos, then compare those to other guitars with bodies of Indian Rosewood, and see which speaks to you. Here's how: On our website, perform a search by clicking the magnifying glass, then click "Advanced Search". Scroll down and look to the bottom left and you'll see a "More Filter Options" dropdown. Under the "Back and Sides" category, choose the back/side wood you'd like to display (scroll within the Back and Sides window to move down on the list), click the box beside "Blackwood", and then click the red "Search" button to display all the guitars we've listed (sold or not) that have Blackwood back and sides. Result: www.dreamguitars.com/shop/catalogsearch/advanced/result/?category=86&bs_wood_dd%5B%5D=74982 Give it a try, and thanks for your question!
Based on his description and what I am hearing the blackwood is probably more similar to mahogany than rosewood😮. More balanced where rosewood eq's out mids.
What does “salvaged”, denote in this context? First time I’ve heard a top wood being salvaged. It’s a beautiful guitar, I personally enjoy playing cedar tops and own a few. As always, thanks again Paul and team!!
Miles, cool story about the Salvaged Cedar on the GR Bear. Rye found a stump on a beach while vacationing and rented a chainsaw to mill up billets for soundboards. Even on vacation, he's working :) We plan to add this tidbit to the listing description as well. Thanks for the question!!
Dude you are the luckiest dude ever.
Gosh, that headstock...the tone is so full and mature to boot!
Wow. Nothing annoying either. Incredible
Oh man I want every guitar you show on this channel...nice playing too! Alex
