Jess, I use olive oil in my hair when it's still very wet. 5-8 drops or more scrunched upward does wonders for my chemically processed, bone-dry curls. I never thought I could have soft and shiny hair!
I started beauty school and have access to beauty supply stores now... I picked up the masterpiece hairspray and I am OBSESSED. It is SO good. And I can get it for eight bucks!
I wash my hair weekly. I pre-wash detangle with a Tangle Teezer brush, but I use the Wet Brush for detangling when my hair comes out the towel, then I style and scrunch my products in according to the LOC/LCO method (part of the curly girl method). It basically means I layer a leave-in or a bit of curl cream, a gel, and a serum. I don't use a lot per layer, but it is a great way to seal in moisture in the hair.
Curly haired girl here- My favorite curl mousse is actually the Pantene Pro-V mousse for curly hair. It sounds crazy, but it is my holy grail. I use a smoothing serum on my wet hair, then the mousse and I finish with just a little bit of the Ouidad humidity resistant gel
Try the Maui moisture curl enhancing smoothie as a curl cream!!!!! It's affordable and super moisturizing but not too heavy once you learn what the right amount is for your hair specifically, I recommend starting with a lighter hand unless you have super dry hair
I use plain sweet almond oil. I use it on damp hair, a generous amount from mid shaft to the ends and it makes my hair so silky soft the following day. No other hair oil I've tried has made my hair this silky soft. I use it in conjunction with It's A 10 Leave In conditioner. This is a combo my hair loves.
I love the Moroccan oil treatment from Moroccan oil! It’s on the expensive side ($50-60) but I have had one bottle for years that I only use in the winter. I live in Wisconsin and have thick red hair and got this as a gift at least 3 years ago. They also have a lite version for people with thin hair.
Hi Jessica! How do you keep your curly hair looking nice on days that you haven't washed it? I know you've mentioned not washing your hair everyday (I wash mine twice a week). Do you use a spray bottle to wet it and reapply product or do you sleep with it a certain way that preserves the curls? Do you get product build-up if you reapply product?
Thought I'd chime in. I had been looking for a good curl refresher spray forever! I've tried just about everything out there, but nothing seems work that well 😞 Well, a few months ago I googled some homemade DIY curl refresher spray and tried some out. The best one I found was 4 oz of distilled water, 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil, and 3 squirts of hair conditioner; shake it all up to mix it together (shake before using every time) and it works like gangbusters. I repurposed an old John Frieda sea spray/beach waves spray bottle, which works great for this recipe and I also added a few drops of patchouli oil to make it smell good, but I imagine you could throw a few drops of whatever oil you'd prefer for scent. Maybe give it a try, or Google some other DIY curl refresher sprays
Tanya Brito- Even tho its not for me, thanks for the info! Never thought about a DIY when it comes to that. My hair is very wavy when airdried, so Id like to figure out how to get the most out of it, and see if I can get it to look as curly as it does when I blow dry it. Hate putting so much heat on my poor frazzled ends!
I just use andalou naturals.. All natural shampoo and conditioner and my hair is so soft, silky and shiny with almost zero frizz in humid south Texas air too
Jessi I loved this video. Could you please do an updated just hair video? I have dry wavy thick hair and am trying to grow it out but the ends are so rough in between trims! I love your videos thank you for sharing your life ❤️
OMG you HAVE to try the Agadir Argon Oil Hair Treatment! i have used it for 6 years now and whenever I go to get a trim, my hairstylist is always so impressed about how healthy my hair is!
I use the same Nexxus shampoo and conditioner and honestly I don't feel Nexxus products get enough recognition! I love their products and I discovered it by accident last October when we were going on a cruise, I stopped in at Walgreens to get some travel size shampoo and conditioners and I grabbed them and I have been in love with them ever since!
Have you ever tried the Moroccan Oil hair oil? It’s pricy but lasts forever. I buy the light since I have thin wavy/curly hair like yours. I haven’t found another I like more. I have your curl mousse on my list to try. I’m aways on the hunt for good curly hair products. I also love the whole blends shampoo & conditioner. Even though it haves sulfates it still moisturizes so well.
Have you tried biosilk for your hair? It’s my absolute favorite to put in my hair when it’s damp. It makes my hair feel so much stronger and so soft!!!
That Bed Head hairspray is THE BEST!!! Least build up, smells great and holds but light enough to still not look like you plastered your hair. It lets your hair move with hold and is soft to the touch! Good call!
I use “It’s a 10” before blow drying. Best product I have found! My hair changed so much after having my baby and it helps keep the frizz to a minimum.
Try Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Spray. I can't use oils a lot, but I love this product to improve the shine in my 2nd or 3rd day dry hair ends after using my dry shampoo..
I have oily hair and still absolutely love the Don’t Despair Repair Mask... I use mainly half way down the length of my hair every other day and my hair loves it!!
The day after you posted this video I found the Wet brush in TJMaxx for $4.99. I ended up buying it and I LOVE it. It gives me volume and dries my hair so much faster than my other brushes and what’s awesome is it doesn’t tangle my hair on the hand holder. Love it. Thanks so much for the recommendation
Next week the shampoo and conditioner by nexus is on sale at ulta!!! 40% off each of them! I know what I’ll be buying next week. Any recommendation from Jessica has worked beautifully for me!!! Yay!
Thanks for sharing. I really want to try that brand. I'm needing shampoo and conditioner soon so this video is perfect timing. I trust her recommendations too.
Jessica! You have to try the Macadamia Professional nourishing moisture oil treatment, especially the one made for medium-coarse hair! It's the best for thick hair. It's expensive, but you only need a little.
Biosilk! It's something I never let myself run out of and I've been using it forever. I branch out and try new hair oils every now and then but always keep biosilk in my stash.
I love using hair oils! My favorites are the bumble and bumble hair dresser invisible oil (it’s more like a creamy oil spray) it’s so great for heat styling! I also love the OGX Moroccan oil light spray for curly days!
I absolutely LOVE the CHI Silk Infusion oil. I put a little bit in my towel dried hair before drying/straightening and it honestly makes my hair feel like silk! Just a suggestion!
I absolutely adore the whole blends shampoo with the hair mask. I don't even bother with the conditioner, and my boyfriend LOVES how it makes my hair smell. Very conditioning for drugstore
Try the argon oil from oai. It is great I’m loosing less hair and it feels so great. Also, even when I have gotten carried away pumping it, my hair never looks greasy.
Bumble and Bumble makes my favorite wavy hair product, it's the curl Curl (style) defining creme. It's amazing as a quick air dry hair day. I also am in love with Moroccan Oil Light, I'll often just mix the two together to use!
Danielle Hester I just got a sample of this with my Ulta order. I haven't used it enough to know how I like it but after seeing your comment I'm going to start using it.
Danielle Hester I am obsessed with the Bumble and Bumble oil as well. I have fine hair and it doesn't weigh it down. My best friend has extremely thick and coarse hair and it works amazing for her too. Also Wella has an amazing hair oil as well.
The strivectin ultimate moisture hair oil is to die for! One of the few hair oils that doesn't weigh my hair down and makes it look and feel amazing! It also doubles as a heat protectant! 👌👌
Wella Oil Reflections Luminous Smoothing Oil is my holy grail! It doesn’t weigh your hair down but leaves my hair softer than anything else I’ve ever used.
I love the CHI Silk Infusion hair oil/serum. I use it everyday, I have had that little bottle forever though! I have found it has helped my severly damaged hair, so I imagine it would be really nourishing for normal hair types too! 💇
I’ve been using the Verb Ghost Oil from last month’s Sephora Play box and I love it! Will be purchasing the full size for sure. It’s so smoothing but doesn’t weigh my fine hair down.
I recently tried the Hip Chic Taming a Lion Mane hair mask and loved it! It wasn't goopy or runny and left my hair feeling silky soft. My sister bought it for me at Walmart.
I love the IGK hair balm Mistress. It is amazing. Leaves hair so soft and bouncy. I have curly hair to my waste. Very hard to comb out. I use the nexus as well. Love it.
I love the Garnier Whole Blends line (it's called "Ultra Doux" in Belgium). It's been out for decades here and the conditioners and hair masks are just awesome, and decently priced too. The Garnier Whole Blends is not the harshest shampoo on the market (Pantene and Herbal Essences are harsher), even though it has sulfates. Keeping a sulfate shampoo in the house for occasional clarifying is not a bad thing, IMMHO! Loved the video, Jess.
I did already say that the Garnier shampoos are milder than Pantene and Herbal Essences. You need to pick out the *right* one for your scalp. If you have an oily scalp (more than once a week washing normally), then you need to find one for oily scalp. The olive oil one will certainly be the wrong fit for you, see what I mean? ;)
I bought a travel size of the Living Proof Curl Enhancing Mousse after hearing you talk about it, and it really is amazing! I have semi-curly/wavy hair, and I had never found a product that really worked to define what curl I do have. This works beautifully! Thank you so much for the recommendation!
I've been using Ouai's Rose Hair and Body oil for the past year. At first, I thought it did an ok job but once I finished it up and started using another oil I realized how good the Ouai one is. I would recommend it. It doesn't weigh down your hair and doesn't leave your hair super oily if you don't wash your hair the next day.
Jessica! Try the Miss Jessie’s pillow soft curls curl cream. It’s super light weight and defining. Makes your hair smell like fresh laundry and they carry it at target.
I also love that shampoo and conditioner but I recently tried SheaMoisture the honey one & omg it’s amazing. I highly recommend you try out the SheaMoisture brand
I use the Garnier Whole Blends shampoo with their deep conditioning mask, as well as their oil and I truly love them! Of course, it's probably not the most amazing thing out there but for individuals on a budget it is awesome!
For a leave in conditioner/shiner/frizz tamer (it does 7 other things too), I like Hask Unwined. It comes in a little wine shaped plastic bottle and it's not heavy at all
Then use the AMIKA HAIR OIL TREATMENT OMG AMAZING!!! What you do is squeeze in few drops ...I would say for your hair about 6- 10 drops ( do not towel blott hair after wash) then SQUEEZE THE DROPS OF OIL INTO YOUR HAIR MIDWAY SHAFT TO ENDS OMG YOU WILL FALLLL IN ❤️
I swore by Nexxus Therappe and Humectress in my post-high school years to my mid-20’s! I got nostalgic and tried them again a year or so ago. Still wonderful...but I wish the shampoo was sulfate free. As for hair oils, my HG is the Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil. I’ve used it for years and haven’t yet found one that I like better.
I have wavy curly hair and love Kevin Murphy's Killer curls. It is a cream and I love it but a bit pricy. Will definitely have to try the living proof. I also have Revlon's hairdryer that looks like a big round brush and I love it for drying my hair straight and not having to follow up with a straightener. I do have a lot of hair but shoulder length, so not sure how well it does with really long hair.
I’m always looking for a good drugstore dry shampoo too! Love Batiste but current favorite is by Shea Moisture. I can’t remember the exact name of it but it’s non aerosol and rose scented available at Target. It’s amazing 🙌🏻
I do not like that garnier whole blends shampoo and conditioner. It makes my hair so greasy! I don’t know if I’m using it wrong or what :/ I can’t go two days without needing a new hair wash, when usually I can go four days.
Jess- I have been using the Oi beautifying oil from Davines, made with roucou oil, for over 6 years now. It has changed my hair. I have platinum blonde, very processed long hair, and this is the only reason it stays healthy and shiny, I swear! Best hair product on the market. If you have never been wowed by a hair oil, try this one- you will love it. It comes in a mini size as well, that is much less pricy than the full size one (44.00 for the full size, but the mini will last a long time, because a little goes such a long way.) I sincerely hope you try it!
best hair oil for shine, smells GREAT and the best shine i have ever experienced! Not really oily/heavy on the hair, and you only need a few drops: Agidir Argan Oil! very pricey, but buy the smallest size first, so you can try it. I believe it is around $10 for the small one. The bigger one is around $29. Try it! You will NOT be sorry! it also can be used on the skin, such as dry hands or elbows! I'm pretty sure they carry it at Ulta, but you can also find it at some drug stores.
My roommate who has very dry, curly hair uses Marrakesh oil (the one with the red label - original scent). She really likes it. Plus it's pretty packaging.
Probably too late to the party, but I've been using the kerastase oleo relax Hair oil, the orange one, for 15 years, nothing beats that for shine and anti-frizz, and it smells so, so good.
Fav hair oil: Alterna Kendi Bamboo oil spray. The one in the clear bottle, the aerosol can is too light for my thick hair but the regular spray is awesome!
I love the OGX argan oil of Morocco I prefer the light version because it doesn’t weigh down the hair. It’s a great affordable option and is available at most drugstores. You should totally check it out 💕
Try the diva curl coconut curl cream! My hair looks EXACTLY like yours does when you air dry, and i do the same. My holy grail air dry routine is living proof in shower styler, which I also recommend, then a small amount of an oil and a good amount of the diva curl. My fave mask is also the briogeo...it's sooo good.
I love Biosilk after I get out the shower! I use a little bit in the palm of my hand and put it all over and comb it through with my fingers and it works with frizz !! It's a curvy bottle
Try the verb ghost oil.it is sooo good I have very fine hair with oily scalp and dry ends with frizz as well and i just use like 2 small drops and put in my damp hair focusing on my roots and it tames my hair and works amazing.Highly recommend and it is $16 which i dont think is a bad price for the full size as you need the smallest amount
Thank you for this video! I’ve been on the hunt for a new curling mousse. I have a natural wave/funk in my hair. Not straight, not completely wavy. Always looking for something to help define or enhance my waves so I don’t have to straighten every day. P.S. Loving your earrings!
Angela Mullis I got the devacurl waves conditioner and use it a bit like a mask, and without any other product, my best friend didn't recognize me from behind because my hair was so wavy. Highly recommend
I have curly hair (not wavy) but I also love the devacurl products and I would think they would work as well for wavy hair as they do for my curly hair! I use the ultra defining gel (they also have a light defining gel that I think might work well for wavy hair or curly hair that is fine and thin) and it has replaced like 4 products in my previous routine 😱
I got my Briogeo products because of you and I love them!!! The smell is amazing and I feel like my hair looks amazing for so much longer than with other products. Thank you for the recommendation :)
I love the earring and lip colour combo!
Amy J Allen me too! I love it 😍
Me too! Need to know where those earrings are from!
Me too! So pretty!
They’re from Target. She showed them in another video. I have them in black and white, they’re so cute!
Christina Vittorio are they the bauble bar string earrings? Cute!
I love your videos! Could you review BB & CC creams from the drugstore? Are there any worth picking up? 😊
Erica Lopez I really like the cover girl clean matte bb cream
Katie Jarvis Thank you for letting me know, I’m going to try it 😊!
Jess, I use olive oil in my hair when it's still very wet. 5-8 drops or more scrunched upward does wonders for my chemically processed, bone-dry curls. I never thought I could have soft and shiny hair!
I have loved the biosilk silk therapy for SO long! It takes the tiniest amount so it lasts for forever and makes my hair sooo silky smooth!
Yes!!
I just tried the nexxus shampoo & conditioner today and it’s already made a difference in my hair!!!! Thank you so much
Garnier whole blends repairing leave in miracle nectar smells amazing!!! I put it on dry hair after styling for smoothing.
You might want to try the Shea Moisture Shea Butter conditioner. I love that stuff. No sulfates, parabens, etc. and you can get it at Target. So good!
You have to try the Suave Moroccan Shampoo & Conditioner - sulfate-free and AMAZING! ♥ Elle
And super affordable! That's what I use and it smells great.
I’m obsessed with the b&b hairdresser’s invisible oil. It’s the one high end hair product I can’t live without!
Jessica Kasparian would love to know!!

I just use andalou naturals.. All natural shampoo and conditioner and my hair is so soft, silky and shiny with almost zero frizz in humid south Texas air too
The Moroccan oil is my favorite!!! I use it every time I wash my hair and it adds moisture without making it look greasy (I have fairly thin hair)
Jessi I loved this video. Could you please do an updated just hair video? I have dry wavy thick hair and am trying to grow it out but the ends are so rough in between trims! I love your videos thank you for sharing your life ❤️
The verb ghost oil! Use wet or dry..never leaves my long hair greasy!
OMG you HAVE to try the Agadir Argon Oil Hair Treatment! i have used it for 6 years now and whenever I go to get a trim, my hairstylist is always so impressed about how healthy my hair is!

I so need this video! I'm such a hair dunce!
Next week the shampoo and conditioner by nexus is on sale at ulta!!! 40% off each of them! I know what I’ll be buying next week. Any recommendation from Jessica has worked beautifully for me!!! Yay!
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing. I really want to try that brand. I'm needing shampoo and conditioner soon so this video is perfect timing. I trust her recommendations too.
Yes try it. I love it.

I really like how your earrings look with your lips! You're so gorgeous 😍
When you do use the exfoliating shampoo, is it in place of your nexxus or in addition to? If you use both together, which do you use first?
I love Bumble and bumble's hairdresser's invisible oil!
Danielle Hester I just got a sample of this with my Ulta order. I haven't used it enough to know how I like it but after seeing your comment I'm going to start using it.
I especially love using a little bit on the ends of my dry hair to smooth it. Makes it so shiny and soft.
I miss your dollar store makeup hauls
I love the CHI Silk Infusion hair oil/serum. I use it everyday, I have had that little bottle forever though! I have found it has helped my severly damaged hair, so I imagine it would be really nourishing for normal hair types too! 💇
I’ve been using the Verb Ghost Oil from last month’s Sephora Play box and I love it! Will be purchasing the full size for sure. It’s so smoothing but doesn’t weigh my fine hair down.
Best I have ever used is the Karmin 4 Step Hair Repair System 😘
❤️
I recently tried the Hip Chic Taming a Lion Mane hair mask and loved it! It wasn't goopy or runny and left my hair feeling silky soft. My sister bought it for me at Walmart.
I am living for your videos right now! I wish you could post 5 times a day so I could binge watch them
I love the IGK hair balm Mistress.
It is amazing. Leaves hair so soft and bouncy.
I have curly hair to my waste.
Very hard to comb out.
I use the nexus as well. Love it.
I LOVE the Ghost Oil from Verb!! Makes my hair so smooth and soft!

Marleen G. I do not! It makes my hair too greasy :(
I deeply enjoy the Garnier one, shampoo and conditioner, as someone who gets a dry and itchy scalp very easily!
Kourttneex3 my thoughts exactly! I had one of their ultra doux shampoos and my hair was greasy after 2 days!..
I did already say that the Garnier shampoos are milder than Pantene and Herbal Essences. You need to pick out the *right* one for your scalp. The nuxe oil turned on me after about 8 months so now im trying to use it super quickly before i return to paris in june. Hurray.
DUDE! Kristen Ess at Target dry texture spray is a great dupe for the Oribé!
I bought a travel size of the Living Proof Curl Enhancing Mousse after hearing you talk about it, and it really is amazing! I have semi-curly/wavy hair, and I had never found a product that really worked to define what curl I do have. This works beautifully! Thank you so much for the recommendation!
That Briogio mask is the best thing I've ever put on my head. Sometimes I'll leave it in for an hour before rinsing. I love it.
There's a tresemme keratin oil that comes in a red bottle, and it's sooooo good!
You need to try the HAIR RULES cleansing cream BUT use it as a conditioner..,you may even find it BETTER THAN HUMECTRESS😉
My eyes keep being drawn to those beautiful earrings!!! My goodness what an amazing pop of color!
Jessica! Try the Miss Jessie’s pillow soft curls curl cream. It’s super light weight and defining. Makes your hair smell like fresh laundry and they carry it at target.
Please try and review the Revlon one step hair dryer and volumizer!! Love this video would love to see you do more hair videos!
The alterna bamboo kendi oil is really good! I have thick coarse hair and it really smoothes it out.
I also love that shampoo and conditioner but I recently tried SheaMoisture the honey one & omg it’s amazing. I highly recommend you try out the SheaMoisture brand
Love your look here: the hair, the lip, the earring. A total win!
I use the Garnier Whole Blends shampoo with their deep conditioning mask, as well as their oil and I truly love them! Of course, it's probably not the most amazing thing out there but for individuals on a budget it is awesome!

I seem to have the same issue!
I love the Chi silk infusion oil it’s sooo good
Try CHI silk infusion. You can get it cheaper at Marshalls and walmart but it lasts forever and keeps it so healthy feeling
Hi! Have you tried Morrocanoil products? They have a great curly hair line. I prefer it to Briogeo
I love the Garnier Whole Blends. The honey and the green apple ones are my favorites! Please do an update of the mask!
Jess the Maccadamia healing oil is bomb! Also smells great. Little pricey but Tj Maxx usually has it a bit cheaper.
You've got to try Moroccan oil for your hair oil. It's not greasy and it works wonders on my hair!
Morraccanoil, Moroccanoil Treatment works really well and it smells great! Sephora sells it! It’s not cheap but, it is very effective!
Omg ! You need to try the shu umera oil i use it on dry hair but it's amazing !!!!!!
I love Oribe hair products! I've been trying to find a cheaper substitute, but I can't find anything that's comparable.
Probably too late to the party, but I've been using the kerastase oleo relax Hair oil, the orange one, for 15 years, nothing beats that for shine and anti-frizz, and it smells so, so good.
If u coupon right u can get the 22oz Nexxus conditioner at CVS for $11
I have the nuxe oil but mine is glittery. I had no idea how to use it lol thank you for the recommendation
I just started using the Living Proof oil & love to use it on my way hair, I let it dry naturally & then flat iron if I feel like it.
You and I have the same hair texture and I have been dying for a hair video from you!! Thank you!!
I love Biosilk after I get out the shower! I use a little bit in the palm of my hand and put it all over and comb it through with my fingers and it works with frizz !! It's a curvy bottle
Try the verb ghost oil.it is sooo good
I have very fine hair with oily scalp and dry ends with frizz as well and i just use like 2 small drops and put in my damp hair focusing on my roots and it tames my hair and works amazing.Highly recommend and it is $16 which i dont think is a bad price for the full size as you need the smallest amount
Emily Park Thank you so much!!!! You rock!!!
The Devacurl Wave Maker is fantastic!
I love my other wet brushes so I'll have to check this one out! I don't love my current "blow out" brush.
I got my Briogeo products because of you and I love them!!! The smell is amazing and I feel like my hair looks amazing for so much longer than with other products. Thank you for the recommendation :)
