I worked for a company on night shifts and received a £2.50 premium for night pay. Well this well known company did not pay the night premium or the extra first aider £30 monthly bonus each month because they said they didn't have to pay us these on holidays. I did not realise this was illegal, in fact we were better off financially if we didn't take a holiday or actually spread out 6 weeks worth of holidays over a year. If anyone is wondering which company this its Wincanton the logistics company.
I worked for them doing nights 18.00-06.00 We got something like 50p an hour more than the day shift but only from 22.00-06.00 Plus I have had emails demanding about £250 that i was allegedly overpaid while off sick (on SSP and had to claim Universal Credit for help paying rent ) due to a back injury sustained while working for them loading lorries with furniture. I heard recently from a former colleague who is still employed there that their branch amongst others might be closing down soon.
If someone works over their contracted hours and the employer makes them take those hours back instead of paying them for those extra hours, is the employer breaking the law?

I recieve BEAR SCOTLAND payments every 3 months in my pay to reflect my overtime pay and holiday pay.
But... Peter has no recourse to legal aid like most workers thus we are left to fight on our own

Depends on what your contract states.
