Suspect that the graphic gore/violence nature of an Aliens encounter would be too edgy for a Trek crossover, what with all the blood and brains getting all over the place. Plus the Federation's hesitance to take a purge-them-all approach. And I can't help thinking that a Trek level of tech would trivialize an Alien threat.

    • @mountainman5173
      @mountainman5173 2 роки тому

Trivialize? A combined Alien/Borg threat I don't think would be a trivial challenge even with Trek tech. Just my opinion.

@@mountainman5173 I mean, accurate ship wide life sign scanners, force fields on demand, transporters. Alien xenos would be a nuisance threat to a ship on alert. Face huggers mean nothing either, teleport the chestbursters out too. "Computer, search for non crew lifeforms and teleport them into the force cage." In hindsight, you'd think they would do that a lot more often.

I'm kinda with you. I think forcefields and possibly materials advanced would mostly eliminate the acid threat, and the energy weapons might do more damage while cauterizing. Advanced sensors would prevent them from hiding.

I would’ve loved to have seen a Borg Xenomorph hybrid, That would’ve been something I wouldn’t of known I would’ve wanted as a fan of both franchise, You may say I wouldn’t of minded the best of both worlds.
Disney do enjoy the vault for better or worse.

There could never be a Borg Xenomorph via the Xenomorph life cycle. If it were possible for a facehugger to impregnate a drone, and a chest burster to gestate, it would simply take on the characteristics of the species the drone assimilated. The only way there could be a Xenomorph drone is if the Borg were able to assimilate one. It's my impression that the both only assimilate technologically superior beings, so it's not even clear they would try to assimilate them, probably viewing them as lower animals. Xenos would probably be a threat, so they would probably just destroy them.

That's exactly what I've wanted to read since I was a teen! I seen a picture of a 3d model that looked like an Alien Borg in a magazine and just came up with how the crossover would have been. The Borg would had tried to assimilate the xenomorphs only to become cocooned for face huggers and the Enterprise would be so damaged that only life support is functioning and they can't detect the aliens crawling inside the Jeffery tube. And the fact that the two franchises are so different makes the crossover even better...you cannot reason with or threaten a species that can quickly kill you.
BTW, do check out IDW's Star Trek & Doctor Who crossover that had Cybermen & Borg team , it was made by the same people behind Accectible Losses.

  • @tommargarites2811

Not a good idea for a cross over, IMO, due to the backgrounds involved. The only place where this might have worked would be in the Enterprise series with Scott Bakula, during this period there were still some problems with the few surviving corporations, which would lend the idea more merit as an Alien -Trek crossover. However, I think the reason that the comic series was cancelled was more to do with CBS than anything else, their lawyers go out of their way to crush any creativity involving bringing trek back from the way CBS is destroying it, with their terrible new shows.

  • @assemblyrequired7342

Ah yes, I heard of the cancelled Alien-Star Trek crossover.
A lot of commenters opine that it would make for terrible crossover material, due to the diametrically opposing philosophies behind the franchises, but I think that would just make it more interesting, especially if Ripley and a Weyland Yutani crew were injected into the Star Trek crossover.
Every time I've watched an Alien film, I like to imagine how a crossover would go, and I find it a shame that there were no plans to include Ripley so far.
If I were to propose some changes, I'd have the USS Sulaco actually crossover through some extra-spatial phenomenon. In this version of events, Dwayne Hicks and Newt do not die. I liked these two characters. It was sad when they were killed off.
The EEV still ejects from the Sulaco following a fire in the Cryogenic Bay because of an unwanted stowaway facehugger onboard. But this time, a Steamrunner class on patrol detects the emergency vehicles artificial alloys easily enough, and revives them. I'll refer to this Steamrunner as the USS Catskill. The USS Enterprise comes to bring them to Deep Space Nine, so that Catskill can investigate USS Sulaco.
Shortly afterwards, an Earth battleship from the Aliens universe under the direct control of the Company arrives, and attempts to take control of the situation. Turns out, they are no match for a Federation Destroyer, the latter of which is forced to disable her after ignoring several hails to stop trying to board/fire on her.
Unfortunately, the Borg have detected the unknown spatial anomaly, and attempt to assimilate USS Sulaco, Catskill, and the Company-controlled warship. A single Steamrunner is no match for a Borg Cube, and the Catskill only manages to escape because the Borg are distracted by the two Earth vessels from another universe, but not before the investigative team find one of the eggs on Sulaco. They aren't total morons though, and put the egg into a force-field containment.
Meanwhile, the Borg find the facehuggers, and begin trying to assimilate them. Or is it the Xenomorphs doing the assimilating.
On Deep Space Nine, they begin to realize just how unusual an organism the egg contains, and find the growing chestburster inside Ripley while doing a routine post-cryo check-up. The closest that the Federation has encountered to these type of organisms are chest-bursting parasites native to UFC 24187-IV. The Klingons actually attempted to lay claim to the planet in 2276, but their lone Destroyer was destroyed by USS Bradley.
Hicks and Newt come up negative, and have a chance to begin marveling at the Federation's advanced technology. At first, they believe that they have been asleep for such a long time, that Earth's society has gone through a huge explosive shift. But conversation soon brings up differences in their histories. Yes, Weyland-Yutani exists in the Star Trek universe, but they are not as all encompassing an entity like in their universe. And working with other companies providing components to starships for example are unheard of in the hyper-competitive Aliens universe. It is mentioned that the Enterprise-E and Catskill's life-support systems were designed by Weyland-Yutani, but most of the other components were provided by many different other companies.
Doctors Crusher and Bashir begin to set-up a procedure to remove the organism using a transporter. Ripley warns the various crews that have provided for her and her fellow surviving crewmates of the risk that the Xenomorphs present to their universe, even while conversation begins on how best to contain them without extermination.
After being removed, a very angry chestburster is contained in a force-field. This is the first time Ripley has witnessed a Xenomorph in an utterly helpless position.
Meanwhile, the Borg Collective detects trouble on the lone Borg Cube that they sent to investigate, and send reinforcements, putting both the Federation Alliance and Dominion on high alert.
I'm kind of blanking out on where things go from here, but I would imagine that it would involve the following:
A Romulan or Changeling operative getting infected with a Facehugger after attempting to retrieve the organism
Ripley's now VERY pissed Xenomorph getting loose on Deep Space Nine after a very foolish Romulan or Changeling agent attempts to steal the organism. They also sabotage the station's internal sensor network as part of their plan to escape. They underestimate what it takes to stun the organism, and it kills them while they attempt to carry the organism to their vessel, and now the crew has to deal with all of that, while the damn thing starts to ambush unsuspecting crew and patrons. O'Brien and Geordi try to fix the damage to the internal sensors.
A new Xeno Queen hatches on the first Borg Cube, and begins to make herself at home. I thought of how they might operate the ship, but without any nanites, forget it. Not happening.
The Borg become obsessed with assimilating this new species, and begin to succeed with nanites that are resistant to their acid blood. It takes a while though, but it turns out that their forcefields are pretty effective against facehuggers, while also adapting to the Xenomorph's deadly spines and claws. They also assimilate any vessels unfortunate enough to get too close.
At this point, the Federation Alliance and Dominion begin talks of a ceasefire, recognizing the threat that the Borg/Alien hybrids pose, albeit only after a fleet originally intended to poke the defenses of DS9 is brutally assimilated by the Borg. But they did destroy some of the Borg Cubes before they were defeated, so yay?
Eventually, the Borg and Xenomorph Queens confront each other as they fight for control over the Xenomorph army, while a tandem fleet of Federation Alliance and Dominion warships attempts to destroy the Borg Cubes. Turns out, the Borg can now use Facehuggers to assimilate unlucky individuals.

    They are a horrid match.
Star trek is a noble bright and "super socialist" hopeful universe.
Aliens is grim profit driven and a place of unavoidable death.
    They dont mix.
