Unicorn Spit in Resin. Did it work?

- In this tutorial I am going to try the Unicorn Spit in Lets Resin casting resin. I mixed all the colors with a little alcohol first to break down the gel part so there isn't so much mixing while in the resin. Then I mixed each color in a separate cup with resin. I decided to do a dirty pour, bad idea...used the left overs in a coaster side by side and that turned out much better. #resin #resinart

Will you be mentioning this to Daniel? I can't wait until he works out how to use it in uv resin.
I did send him a message, don't know if he will respond.
Great job doing all that research. I love a good experiment!😊 I’ve watched quite a few wood turners over the years, there are some on here that do absolutely incredible work. The channels I like to watch combine resin, wood and burl. Some.. not all tho, will let the resin get to about 115F before they pour, it’s helped them to keep color separation. It’s risky to let it get that hot without it going exo-thermic and flash curing before it’s poured. Of course not all resins have the same flash point, those turners tend to use Total Boat resin. If I were to do that experiment, I would definitely do it outside on a cool day with a bucket of ice water near by.😅❤
Thank you Annette. Me to, and what better way to do them then right where the whole world can see it, right?🥰🤗
i can't get over the colour of these!!! Hope you get ther other colours and the metallics. Thanks for letting me know about the transfer s cause i wasnt sure cause of the texture this stuff might have left in the eco hehhehe. Your creations are gorgeous !!!!
Your welcome Selene🥰🤗
That clock has a lot of potential. Send it to me and I'll finish it with gold foil, and I'll send it back to you transformed.
I bought a bunch of unicorn spit, so thank you for this video.
Thank you Lisa, I bet you could transform it into something beautiful🥰🤗
I wish I could send you a Pic of how to decorate it.
I like the clock.
Thank you🤗🥰
It might not have turned out the way you expected but it looks perfect for an antique look.
Thank you🥰🤗 and your right, didn't look at that way.
Interesting, thanks.
Your welcome Vicki🥰🤗
Great galaxy look!
Thank you Kim🥰🤗 it does kinda look like a galaxy now that I look at it.
Daniel has been doing galaxy stuff recently. Maybe this is what he needs. Hmm
@@kimclayton5814 I think so to, it would be perfect for that.
Try putting small ball bearings in each bottle ,helps mixing easier
Thank you Linda, Im going to do just that🥰🤗
Mine did!
Unicorn Spit is a water-based product. I'm surprised it didn't completely wreck.
I wasn't worried because alot of products we use have water in them, the biggest one being alcohol. If it were 100% water, then definitely.🥰🤗
Just a thought... It may help if you put a couple ball bearings in the Unicorn Spit bottles... It would make for easier mixing..at least I would think it would! I've not used the product... 🤔
Thanks for the tip!
👍🏻👌🏻
🥰🤗
I have never mixed mine with alcohol. I have always just dropped it directly into my resin.
I was going to ask if it can just be added straight in, thank you.
I never have either. I wonder what the alcohol is supposed to do.
The alcohol just helps break down the gel part of the stain and makes it easier to mix with the resin so you don't have to stir/mix so much in the resin, and cause bubbles from mixing. If that makes sense. You don't have to do it, but it helps.
There are 10 regular colors and 5 glitter colors. I have all of them. I got them 2 years ago.
Teresa, they have added a few since then. They have 14 vibrant colors, 7 sparkling and 5 metallics now. I only have the 5 colors right now.
Uv resin?
Not sure about the UV, I msg Daniel so hoping he gets back with me.
Petri dish effect with this?
If you mixed these colors on a palette, you would get a dark muddy color. Try it with, say, only silver and fuchsia. Also, don't put UV resin on top of epoxy resin until the epoxy resin has fully cured. I am not so sure that this stuff is much of a game changer. Sorry.
Why would you mix them? Why cant you put UV resin on Resin? I have been doing it for years with no issues.
No one has ever mentioned that to me before.🥰
@@resinmeup I said don't put UV resin on top of UNCURED epoxy resin. Of course, you can put UV resin on top of fully cured epoxy resin. Re your question "why would you mix them" I am not sure what you are referring to.
