@@Chezamewait how do you do the vocal fry thing? Where you lower your voice an octave? Can you do a more detailed tutorial on that? It also helps for choir and I'm trying to learn as much as I can to go as low as I can
Great tutorial! One remark- enel’s bass is actually a form of subharmonic register bass, a bass technique that is more commonly known in the vocal singing world than in the beatbox community. This is a type of vocal bass which lines up the outward vocal fry with the regular chest voice. This is actually the bass xureck is using in his swissbeatbox shoutout video “insane vocal fry techniques”. Enel’s is slightly different because he lines up his outward vocal fry not with his regular chest voice, but with that “tight voice”/“jayton voice” that inertia and effaybee are very well-known for using. Fun fact, in the tuvan Siberian culture, they call throat bass/throat singing “kargyraa” and they call this “tight jayton voice” that we use in beatboxing “khoomei”, another vocal overtone technique. Anyways, enel’s amazingly talented for figuring out how to use this bass, but he was not completely correct in saying that his “electric bass” is simply vibration bass and vocal fry. That is not accurate. I can perform subharmonic register bass myself as well as enel’s variation, and i would describe it as a bass which is the result of lining up your tight/jayton voice/ khoomei voice with your outward vocal fry. When doing this with regular chest voice, it comes out very smooth and almost sounds just like your voice but an octave under, no texture changes like throat bass. For enel’s bass, using the tight voice with the subharmonic register make it sound much more “tin-ny” and gong-like.
I aint readin all that
@@Samer-lx5sz me neither lol

I am unbelievably excited to find someone else who is as into the throat singing knowledge as I am, especially since I think I have something that I can share with you. With the car garage style, the sub harmonic Intonation actually comes from the vibration of your original cartilage, rather than your vocal folds, where as just with normal sub harmonic base, that comes from your false vocal cord vibrat a ratio of 3 to 5 to 1 another, so they're actually vibrating at different frequencies to one another, but that combination Over top of your Fundamental note being song with your actual vocal folds is what causes the normal sub harmonic note to ring out
Subharmonics are a vocal technique, not a vocal register, and it is kinda like the opposite of the belting technique - when I use it, I can feel that it’s literally my chest voice being pushed to its absolute lowest using this subharmonic vocal technique, and I can sing A0 (and possibly even lower) using this vocal technique, even though I am not a dude, plus it makes my voice sound so deep and dark, just like the voice of a real bass, or even deeper than that, even though I have the highest and whitest / lightest / brightest voice ever, being the coloratura sopranino, and I am also practicing the throat bass and the robotic voices, by messing around with the pitch and sound projection, plus I can go from C6 to C8 in actual head voice, and I can easily belt A5 in actual chest voice, without going into mixed voice at all, as I am the best singer ever with the best vocal techniques and the most versatile voice, and even my whistle register goes from around the 4th octave to the 10th or 11th octave, having the widest natural ranges in all vocal registers and the most flexible and agile voice, and, I can even throat sing, so I’ve been practicing throat singing today, and I discovered one of the coolest vocal effects ever while practicing throat singing today, but, I cannot beatbox to save my life, as I cannot make any sounds with my lips, so I am trying to find a way to make most of those sounds directly from my throat, since it’s easier for me to use my real voices!

You are actually a really good teacher, I've seen other tutorials, but I could never do it, but you've explained it so good, I feel like I'm starting to really start to develop it, can't wait to watch all your other tutorials

This is the BEST throat bass tutorial :DD I know already the thoat bass, but I trying to practice, and clean it.I did excactly the same I trying to imitate River, and Codfish throat bass.Everyone has their own throat bass, cuz they did on their different part.I'm trying to learn Codfish and River throat bass and Slizzer sometimes,to clean it the best was I can do.I think I can do codfish vibration bass,or I'm getting there, cuz I can do Codfish throat bass a little bit,but still I have to work a lot to make it clean. The Codfish bonus tip is VERY usefull,I want to learn singing, but my voice is terribly bad for singing. But I want to learn how to sing, and I can practice throat bass and my singing skills too at the same time after this bonus video :D Thank you very much Chezame looking forward to more awesome tutorials like this ;) Keep up :DD
Thank you so much for this nice comment :)
@@Chezame My pleasure ;) I love your videos :DD Just so fun to watch while you're soo excited after a beatbox video :DDD I love those reactions
This was the sound I've always done when my normal voice reached its limits when singing very low notes. That this is a beatbox sound and especially the throat base I never know. :D
Wouldn't that just be a vocal fry?
Thats just a vocal fry lol
While Throat singing you get your normal vocal cords to vibrate in 2 different Rhythms...
That causes the vocal cords to only hit each other every 3hit or so...
That is called a „Subharmonic“
Google that, there are many good tutorials!
David Larson does it great.
So Throat singing doesnt need the Vestibular folds!
But throat bass does.
Throat bass is a subharmonic caused by the Vocal cords and the vestibula folds.
Our vocal cords arent used to the extrem Vibration by the vestibular folds, thats why they hurt when you start practising.
Great tutorial!
Keep it up and much love from Germany!
Wow thanks :) very detailed you should do a video on that 😍 never heard an explanation lien that ! Und schöne Grüße woher auch immer du kommst :)
@@Chezame vom Bodensee in Badenwürttemberg... thanks for your responce! you realy care about your community!
Throat bass and throat singing are same. They use the false cords. Only subharmonics use only vocal cords.
Holy crap, when you lock in a vibration with a tone its insane sounding. Its late and everyone is in bed so I can't really practice but I tried it real quick and got it one time and was like WHOA!
Finalyyy ... 🔥 The tutorial coming
Btw , can you react D low ShoutOut to American bbx and maybe Little Rascal his routine too?
For sure :)
For a split second a had it while humming and slowly relaxing while moving my voice down as far as I can. Hard to explain but I felt an amazing sensation in my chest. I’ll find it again
Thanks for this
Finally tutorials 😭❤️🥳yay
yeah =)
I gotta say props as hell for this, I tore my vocal cords a few years back being a metal singer. For years I've been terrified to try anything vocally straining in any from. The past few months I've been watching alot of your videos. Past three weeks I've been taken slow steps and re training my voice and vocal cords, as well as keeping them in good shape with up care as well. Truly thank you. It's given me something I have truly missed. And I aim to keep this up, see where I am in a year's time with this stuff !
How's your progress now brother
@@ellroyce not completely there, but alot better kinda surprised how much im still able to do plus along the way learning my own way to improvise how to make certain sounds, some i still struggle with getting the grips on,but trying none the less!
I wish this tutorial came out 11 months ago when I was learning the throat bass. Very amazing tutorial! Yeah Jacob's Vocal Academy's channel is so amazing for vocal exercises. You can really train your voice yo become better drastically in a short time.
I just practice my bass line by listening to codfish's routines👍
Perfect
Damn dude. I’ve been playing didgeridoo for like 10 years. I made all the bass sounds first try. This is the best day ever. I guess I have wild throat muscles

I love it when I am very much pro and in control with my trath base, still need to practise to make it better and clear tho.
But it's funn to see many people don't know it yet, cuz I know the learning part and to figuure it out rlly sucks as a beginner it takes weaks or months.
god I a m glad those days are over
I fucked around for the first time just now and I actually hit it for a couple seconds. This video really is the only one we need hahaha. Great work my friend. Very helpful.
Late to this video but now that my family is back after 7 months and I'm no longer basically completely alone in this house I finally gained the motivation to chase my goal and get to a level in beatboxing that I can have fun with it. At first I was concerned I´d look silly but in reality they don´t mind and my small sister likes me practising, lol. I already knew the basis for doing throat bass but the tongue tip helped me a lot in making it sound like a throat sound rather than just me masking my voice inside gurgles, maybe other newcomers can relate to what I mean? Been practising a few sounds for 3 days in a row now with this newfound motivation and I'm really excited.
Thank you for all the entertainment and tutorials, it's about time I join y'all amazing beatboxing people and maybe one day even be able to teach other people some basics!
OMG MY THROAT HEARTS but finnaly i did it!!!!💪
Yeahh Finally, the Tutorial 🔥🔥🔥

Honestly your part was the only one I needed to get the sound, needed some more practice and the other video's helped with some more variations to learn it even better. Starting to sound actually good now, great vid & thanks a lot!

This ist so dangerous. Im risking my life right here 😎
That last tip is so spot on about the mirror neurone thing I learned a lot of sounds just from practicing sounding them out myself

And for B-Art, Dharni and 80 fitz too!!!!
Guys this really affects your voice if you do it everytime for the first time, if you just started trying this now and feel your throat itchy or a little disturbed stop doing it and keep practicing when you know its okay again, i already learned how to get the sound with this tutorial so its a good one, but what i need to learn is to talk with vibration bass, so its a work in progress and take it slow
I've about of 1 year trying the throat bass, inward bass is so easy, lip rolls EZ, vortex and some sounds more are easy for me but the throat bass is REALLY HARD
This maybe happens cuz i always do the chest bass instead of the throat bass
well really i have 6 or 5 months to do this bass i'll still trying and one day i'll get it, this is one of the best tutorial that i watched cuz has many ways to do it and a really good explication, at the end of the video the part when u said try again listen the sound several times and try every day and one day u'll do it that part encoraged me, thank u this video is really really good, im gonna subscribe
im finna sound like a bullfrog after watching 5 times

I can't believe it, I've wanted to know how to do this for so long and I think I've just been practising daily without even realising, I woke up today and I can just do it ahahaha feelsgoodman

Thank you for this tutorial! I’m just starting out learning BB and this was really informative! 😊
I figured it out!!!! However I over did it a little while trying to figure it out I didn’t feel any irritation until after I stopped trying. Resting today and probably tomorrow and sipping some tea with lemon and honey. I really appreciate this tutorial. Too bad I don’t have any other good sounds like lip rolls or snares lol I guess I need to practice that too.
