  • I figured that more lighting is better than factory lighting so I picked up some cheap flush mount lights to install into my new DIY bumpers. Well, it looks like the front bumper isn't going to work (we will see) but the rear bumper does! Now I'll have reverse lights that actually work!

I went with under mounted LED lights, using the back-ups as a trigger for the relay. I mounted the relay on the passenger side under the side glass frame, running the wires in the tread plate panels at bottom of the doors, as the battery is on that side. My lights came from Amazon as well and came with the required wiring and relay. Did floods in the back and spots in the front. Front lights are on their own switch. Love the flush mount look better than the under mount. Great job, looks good. God bless, stay well.

im sure undermount lights would get ripped off on my rig at some point. TBH, I haven't even tried these lights out at night yet....I don't get out much at my advanced age and im usually in bed by nine. im such a rebel..

13:40 would have liked to have seen how you actually connected the relay and which wires goes where. Thank you for a great install!

ooooh lovely lights!! you did very good at flush mounting, when i had an 84 Chevy S10 I had backup lights mounted from the back bumper and trust me I had gone through about 10 a year...again i bought cheepy ones...back in 2000 online stores were not invented yet...your rocking now!!! Just don't ram into any rocks though....and just think I saw that Jeep parked at the McDonalds...back in Pahrump...I bet some of that dirt is still from Nevada...ha ha!!! Maybe need to get you an monthly "car wash" package---

I was just about to say $30 for the lights then you said under that. I’m beginning to think you’re a gadget guy like ME only with automotive! “Land of the cheap sh**t” 😂😂😂. Stay safe! ~Jim~

Think that front bumper will hold a 10k winch? I'm looking into both of these for my 92
