With a Georgia cottage food business can you sell directly to a consumer via online website. Also can you put a product on eBay or Amazon with cottage food business.

Thank you for such great content/info! One question, Georgia's cottage food application ask for a physical address and a mailing address. Can I use a virtual address for the mailing address and on my products labels? I really don't want to use my personal address in this crazy world lol.
hey tracy almost all states in U.S. who have cottage food laws require a Physical address and it isthe home where its made.
They want the address where the kitchen is located so that if there are any food-related outbreaks or recalls, they can trace it back to the exact location. You also have to put that address on the labeling of all of the products you sell.
Nice to meet you Tracy. I couldn’t think about that before. Just now I recognized about same worrying. Thank you for that. But I fully agree that the real address is required on the perspective of customer. We have to think about and find a good way. (Anyway I don’t want to take the lease cost till I will be able to have the confidence. I think you may be similar with me, by very small business tryer)

Thanks for watching and asking. When it comes to "food" from home the types of foods are VERY limited by state frozen dinners for instance are not allowed from home legally. Foods that are considered potentially hazardous are not allowed. normally baked goods, cookies, trail mix and the like are the only ones allowed. Every state is different BUT generally foods that are time or temp sensative are not
Thank you for your reply, I want to start a new food business from home, based in Brazilian food, my main product should be pão de queijo, a brazilian cheese roll, but it needs to be sold frozen and the costumer should bake it in their own home. I think I will have to change my start product so. 😢

I have googled about cottage food business soooo much, so I know very well that the items is highly limited. (I understand about that. It is definitely for the issues of hygiene.) But I just heard that someone do treat the items which I think it is out of the items allowed. It means they are out of the rules?
And are there any way to sell the other items which is not allowed, I want to & can do prepare something required, for example, I can do be inspected if it is just allowed for me to do that in my home kitchen.
I have no worries about being inspected. It’s because my standard of hygiene might be reached enough for them. It just might be a bad influence for my income. Due to a lot of several kinds of cleaning it takes long time for me to do anything in the kitchen. 😅
