I did a thrift store scavenge for an under $20 Freddy costume and it was so fun destroying a hideous red sweater. Budget costumes are so much more interesting to me than normal ones.
You are so right, I love making budget costumes, I would feel horrible if I took expensive clothing and ripped them up and dumped paint all over them. Much Respect :-)

That silicone over the balaclava is one of the craftiest and smartest things I've ever seen
It's worked out pretty good. I've done that about 10 times :-)

This was awesome. The VS look is my favorite look for Jason so I’ll be sure to refer to this if I ever build up the confidence to create a custom cosplay.

I'm working on a fan project and I've used your videos as a reference.
I am very pleased with how my Jason turned out someone even asked me to make them a costume.
only thing I'm missing is his dentures cause theres a part where he lifts his mask.
So glad i found these. I actually used the spray bottle with the 2009 jason shirt, and i got my silicone, and black paint to take my balaclava and make,it like this one. Thank you.

@@CS5UNMASKED just a idea, if I were to do design my own Jason I’d make Jason from part 7 and mix it with a scarecrow, maybe even a bit of part 2 and savini Jason, imagine a Jason with the part 2 clothes, part 7 mask and a BURNING SCARECROW.

I can use vinil or Vinil acrylic paint?
Love the end results! I am Sort of concerned with the silicone on your head. I feel like there is some toxicity in certain types of silicone from tubes. You can spend some good money and grab medical grade silicone as well. Definitely wouldnt be 25$ build after that though lol. I wonder if just mixing latex and acrylic paint would yield similar results with less chance of toxic chemicals seeping into your skin? Love the videos though! Lots of knowledge and great tips. Im new to weathering and aging these helped me immensely

Thanks for this video man! I’m already thinking of something for Halloween this year. For years I’ve wanted to be Freddy, but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll ever get slim enough, especially for the latex mask. I’m not as tall as a real actor that has portrayed Jason, but still at 6 foot my build is much more suited for ol’ Jason. Some heeled boots would help a little bit.
Doesn’t the silicon prevent the balaclava from stretching? How did you get it off the head and onto yours without cutting it?

The balaclava cowl is the best part of this. Does it stretch without cracking? was it more breathable than latex?
My costume is somewhere between parts 3/4 and FvJ/2009 Im not going for screen accurate per se.

Hey CS5! Can you provide me a link for the baclavas and the paper fasteners? I want to make my own masks too!
I ordered them both from Aliexpress.com about 3 months ago so the links may not work but they still may have some for sale, if not ebay.com would be the next best choice :-)
I just want to commend you on when you done the feature at the end of your video, and you done the forward facing “long deep breath inhale” that Jason does, as I always weirdly liked that part of the film when he does that, suit looks absolutely amazing, coming from 🇬🇧

@@CS5UNMASKED also, I started yesterday with my Mask, and I have followed your work almost exactly, with the only extra I’ve done, is I have added 4 “slash” marks going across the mask, from when Jason fights Freddy, and as the paint has dried, it’s come through really nicely, the next challenge is the jacket, I still need to find a suitable jacket, I have all paints, sand paper ready to go

Where did you get the machete? I’m trying to do Jason for a hunted house and I can’t find a good fake machete that’s thin and long enough to be Freddy vs Jason that’s realistic but also safe enough for the haunted house.
Great video, trying to do this for my Halloween costume, the only thing I am not quite sure about is the silicone used, since I am in the Uk I am not sure which silicone to use. Would a all purpose silicone sealant work?
As long is it's 100% Silicone for interior and exterior use . it has to 100% silicone or it won't work :-)

probably use that idea for my FF13 video hell yes.
If you ever did Uber-Jason, I'd suggest either foam or cardboard, hot glue, and a template from online. Easy enough way to get an accurate shape from what I've done.

while im not a fan of Hobo jason from FVJ, i can say that the hockey mask is great.
Question how did you get the silicone so smooth on the balaclava? When I did it it was not so smooth but I did use clear not white silicone

I have a question about the hood did u leave the rubber bands and cardboard ear pieces on or did u remove them?
I leave them in. I just used large rubber bands for the neck so they don't chock me out.

What kind of sandpaper do you generally use for the weathering on the clothes for this costume? Can it be any grit or is there something that works best?
I use 150 to 100 grit for a really rough look with lots of scratches or 220 grit for a smoother look.
