Billy some guys will not have the dexterity to even hold the two wrenches with one hand.. much less get the right feel on the lash! Your videos are great!
That's cool that you retained the town of West Chicago Motorcycle metal tag. It's a good possibility this previous owner and I passed each other back in the 80's on Rt. 59.
I've only ever worked on a predator 212cc from harbor freight. I built my own mini bike and rebuilt the engine with some new parts. It was really fun and surprisingly easy to do. Soon as I get a tube bender I want to build a mini chopper. I've wanted to build my own motorcycle ever since I watched the first biker build off.
G'day billy im australia , I very much appreciate your wisdom 🙏 I'm currently disassemble ing a 86 fxstc , I purchased it 6 maths or so , I'm in the process of revese engineering the the fkr , ps ure knowledge is inderspencable , thank u mate 😍
Great tutorial! I even leaned something new to me; that it's needed to check the base nuts during this process. I've only had my shovel a couple of years and still learning stuff that's shovel applicable. Question: Is it true that there needs to be a specific cam when converting to solid lifters?
Billy the first harley that i ever wanted to own was this early sturgis. I think the one i was around was an 83. I found a second gen from 90's, i should have bought it but passed, sadly. Thank you for your info and experience.
This is cool I'd never attempted this before now ya showed us this is why ya do this bet ya wish you had this when you started. T.Y. for sharing ur experience with us👍👌👊✌️
1st thing to do if you don't have S&S easy adjust is to get them. Im looking for the engineer's house that designed those screamin eagle 2pc covers. When I seen the way all the others were made, I couldn't believe HD thought those were easy to get to. Other tubes split in the friggen middle and give you inches of room. HD its down almost inside the tappet block.
Great how to, I am considering putting solid lifters in my shovelhead, is it worth doing? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Thanks! And greetings from the u.k!
At 19 Y.O., I had more muscles than brains, I too used to start mine (and often others) scoots with my arm. Mr. Lane, you are no longer in your youth. While you are obviously still physically impressive, stick to your right leg just the same. Peace brother.
Best 15 minute instructional video I’ve seen. Thanks Billy.
Time well spent! Thanks Billy for continually training your loyal fans. That bike sounds amazing!

Everything seems so much easier when Billy shows and explains how it’s done. Thanks again you take care and stay safe.
Thanks for a concise and clear video on this procedure...That shovel sounded very happy when you started her...! Happy New Year Mr. Lane...😎
I watched the video of you at Mike Guidry's house last week. He was my uncle, dead now. Gave me goosebumps bro
I like these no bs tutorials.
It's fkn amazing how simplified Billy makes these lessons.
This is the BEST Harley DIY channel on the tube.
Semper Fi Billy. Thx brother!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. The older bikes are fun to work with!

I've got my Shovel sitting on the work bench right now, should be getting put together this week. I'm doing the EVO valve train/oiling "upgrade".

I’m going to adjust my EVOLUTION, I’d sure like to hear how the rest of you have done. Makes it look real easy.

Good video. Will you do a video on setting up the stock Kehin carb, jetting and tuning? Thanks
Great info, keep the videos coming 🍻
Great video and awesome sound!!
Excellent advice from Dr. Billy. Thank you Billy~! Is it better to do this adjustment when the engine is warm/hot?
I like your shirt!
Gorgeous! 💜
How often do you check/adjust your valves I've always just gone by sound but I know some people check every oil change.
thanks, amazing sound.
Cool

Sounds a little like zero lashing on a car.👍👌
👍🏽
What do you think abouth a magneto on a shovelhead ? good or bad ....?
Will this work on the ironheads
Yes, it’s all the same
@BillyLaneChoppers tjank you Billy,,I have my old choppers Inc Hoodia from the 90s and I will never give it up ,,you da man
That air filter cover definitely has a knight rider feel
You should build a Choppers Inc with a new Milwaukee 114 motor and put some serious power to it with all the bolt on add ons from S&S
Bent push rods not letting hydraulics bleed all the way 😂. I'm impatient
I want a fatboy with a 131c.i. Screaming eagle motor

Plugs out it's easier to turn over
