  • Here's a quick and easy way I've been scaling my new suit! Hope this is helpful to someone out there, scaling can be tricky sometimes and this method seems to work pretty well for me so far!

    When you get to that part of the process, I’d love to see a video on sanding and the prep for painting the suit. I’ve got no clue how you suffered through the entire mk42 suit and got it to the point of looking like it’s pulled straight from the screen!

    Thanks for this! Super helpful. Hopefully I can learn a bit more of blender and get this dang suit fixed before wondercon!

    If you press N on your keyboard, and click on the cylinder, you will get information about the dimensions of it, which you can use to write exact measurements!

      Blender is built on shortcuts, so I would recommend looking up as many as possible, time on pc = printer idle time increase

    Cool... I still don't know how to use blender much if at all. I've had pretty good luck just measuring height and width of whatever then sizing it in cura... Example if the shin pieces measure from ankle or floor to right under the knee it measure ... 20 inches and when I measure myself it's 17 I just shrink the height down to 17inches and the width same thing.. I keep an inch over my size to allow room for pads and electronics.

    Question about the feet. I'm sure you would have to scale your feet with whatever shoes you will wear underneath. How did you scale for your shoes (feet)? Did you just use the biggest part of your foot, LxWxH? BTW, great video

    Do you rescale your STL files after importing them into blender ?
    because my are always huge when I import them for the first time.

      yep mine are usually pretty big too, I think that just tends to happen

    I opened Blender completely blind for the first time yesterday and tweaked around figuring stuff out... I clicked this video hoping to find out how the heck I change it to US units lol, I got more than that and I might even swap the way I was going to scale my armour because of it

    Question can you take a solid statue of ironman and hollow it out to make a suit ? Or is it just a waste of time. Thank you for your time.

    • @KiarasWorkshop
      @KiarasWorkshop  2 роки тому

      I think it would be more effort than it’s worth, considering you’d have to separate all of the parts to make it wearable too. otherwise it’s just going to be all one piece but hollowed out

    Hey what’s up
    I have 3 printer’s myself I watch frank a lot I find battle damage cool. I no frank does not do files or anything with blender and what not but I think a sweet video you could do is how to add battle damage with blender I think that would be grate 👍👍🇨🇦

    When I started, I thought scaling mated pieces to 95% each would work - but that's not the case, they scale differently.
