Not having to drill in an already open hole is a godsend and makes it a very clean and easy process

If you do invest in a knockout punch, make sure to oil it occasionally to keep it from getting damaged over time, you want it to be smooth and easy to turn

Ikr! I bought it for demonstration. Felt a video like this did not exist when I made it.

Very cool video. I would be interested to see what kind of steel that fitting from Ali express. If it's stainless steel a magnet should not be attracted to it.

It’s Normally ss304 steel they use and attract a magnet, perfect for brewing and distilling! No need for ss314 way more expensive and only need in commercial brewery.

Do the bulkheads sit flush to the side of the kettle despite being straight? If you understand what I mean. Thinking of doing this to fit a heating element in mine.

I have had no issues with leaks. I did this to my element's hole 1 year prior to this video. I have a 15 gallon kettle.

What do you use for a triclamp heating element?

I bought parts for the elements from BrewHardware.com

    304 or 304L?

Never called out an “L” so I would expect it to be the 8% carbon version.

i know you bought the punch used, but could you send me a link to one? greenlee preferable

All I did was occasionally check eBay for it. Be sure to not buy a conduit punch, as those punch larger holes.

@@chrismousseau555 Cool, looking now. What size socket did you use?

Hi. What size is that valve fitting?

      1 - 1/2 inch tri-clamp. The hole size is 1 - 5/8 inch.
