No heating, no food, no patrol, no holiday, no NHS treatment on time .......😢 Mental health? What's that? Why?
14 years of trauma!
This
Yeah I was gonna say. Only four?!
2008 financial crisis... That really started in 2007. So that makes it 16 by my long-covid-ruined-brain-maths?
Genuinely the fact that they can say £100k is not enough while at the same time claiming minimum wage shouldn’t be raised and people on universal credit get too much is another level of hypocrisy
Did you see the interview with Kuenssberg on Sunday where Hunt says he wishes he could afford to extend free child care to the already wealthy???!!! The argument is that, because there is a threshold at £100k where you suddenly cease to be entitled to free childcare worth the equivalent of £34k before tax, higher earners with children are disincentivised to earn more than £99,999 unless they can make it to £135k. How about introducing a taper which gradually reduces support from say £66k to £100k. It's not like we don't have other benefits which are tapered (UC and some disability benefits), perhaps that's just for the disadvantaged?
The biggest contribution to the UK's mental health would be to call a General Election.
The Government can help improve the Nation's health by .... leaving! Fabulous reporting as always by the brilliant Johnathan Goodenough! 😂
No mental health crisis in my day...people just jumped off tall buildings...
Sadly they still do, in increasing numbers
In my day we couldn’t afford tall buildings, we stuck our heads in the oven. Coal gas, mostly carbon monoxide .
@@francesconicoletti2547
Nowadays you'd be told that isn't good because it has an effect on Global warming.
@@francesconicoletti2547You had an oven? You were rich!
I think this Government have mental health issues. They are obviously in denial.😂😂😂
Nah, they wouldn't be so good at choosing the craziest people for leadership positions if they were in denial. It has to be intentional I mean the sanest person as prime minister or any cabinet position in the past decade was Theresa May and her fondest memory was running through a field of wheat.
@@FakeSchrodingersCat hmm??🤔🤔👍👍
My mental health has definitely gone down hill over the last 14 years. Its certainly got considerably worse over the last two or three years. I keep thinking I'm living in asylum. I'm told the only cure is a radical change of government but the waiting list means it could be 7 months. In the meantime, thanks for the treatment Dr. Green. Hopefully it'll get me through.
Not being paid £100K a year makes me sad
I don’t know why people with depression don’t just cheer up a bit. And I don’t know why people with cancer don’t just get better.
But then, I’m not a doctor.
What is a doctor?
Nothing about the catastrophic effect on our mental health resulting from our departure from the EU?
"address the root causes"
Leaving the EU affects your mental health? 😂😂😂 Oh. My God. That’s just too funny😂😂😂

The best thing the Tories could do for the nation's mental health is to call a general election, and quietly fade into polical irrelevence.
I assume that the discussion show "Why can't they all just leave her alone?" has a segment called "Why it's all Meghan's fault"?

Genius, as ever!
Yes, I have tried to cure my chronic depression by running. I'm still depressed but in excellent shape.
With Jonathan Goodenuff reporting, all is well in the world once again.
There has been a national shortage of ADHD drugs since I reached the top of the titration list, i was diagnosed 18 months ago and waited more than that for a appointment. More than 3 years ago I knew what was wrong and what I needed and I have had nothing, no support whatsoever.
Beyond brilliant Matt. Absolutely nailed it! 👏🏼
🤣🤣🤣very good as usual 👍
That was mental!
No you’re mental! 😆
You do make me laugh!! Hit the nail on the head every time!! Thank you!
Politics has gone bonkers.
Of the 4% who get paid £100K, what percentage earn it and what percentage deserve it ?

Strong ending there :D
So many people constantly whining about their mental health is starting to affect my mental health.
Perfectly on the nose as aways.
Fine work Matt, the sign off is a thing of beauty
Nailed it. Once again, I don't know whether to laugh or cry, and laughing is only just winning out!
Rich people can feel sad too.... 😂😂

In my day you had a problem with your mental health, they locked you up in a loony bin: out of sight, out of mind, problem solved!
Possibly better than so-called care in the community, in a mouldy flat
@@emmabrooker166I suspect a mouldy flat that you are locked into is going to get worse then a mouldy flat that you can get out of an and ask for help if there is neglect or abuse.
Absolutely nailed it again 😂👍
I love you!!! Spot on darling. ❤ Thanks for talking about this it supports some of our campaigns ❤❤❤❤❤
lol very good!
Funnily enough, I'm kinda trying to heal chronic depression by going on runs, and exercising more
Doing 3 people's jobs in 3 jobs a day might cause one's nerves to frazzle a little. Oh those damned worried wells!
It's just another cut. They'll be no shortage of handouts to rich companies- always money available for rich people to get richer off our taxes.
Simply stop being ill! Why didn't I think of that!
In the USA, we invested in prisons for those with mental health issues, unless they are drug addics or those who want to be mass killers using guns.
...and those were the people we now term 'Peace Officers' or 'Law Enforcement Officers'. Not to mention that the US prison service is fully privatised for profit and routinely infringes the human rights of the inmates, unlike the UK which has only partially privatised the prison service and routinely infringes the human rights of all its inmates.
@paulyeomans1065 Ya, I forgot about privatization. But everything here is for money/for sale. We fight wars not to win but to enrich the MIC. It makes me sad to see the UK going the same way with all their public services.
Like 96% of the country Kate should have gone for a run (not one of those woke parkruns) and not worry about how much everything costs, especially a team of private medical staff or the state of the NHS.
It's about time the retired folk got back to worrying about the price of tomatoes..!!!

Nice work Mr G.
Thank you
Why can't they leave her alone!? Presented live from outside Kensington place! My thoughts all weekend, the very next day after her announcement the media camp on her door step, Windsor, to talk non stop about how sad it is, and how everyone has been awful! 😮 very funny as always👍
Once again thoughtful satire from Matt- he has you laughing but becoming angry at the "couldn't care less" nature of the government. Jonathon as sharp as ever (surely Sky must be calling him soon), - by the way can anyone tell me why they have to stand outside to do their fawning reports?- they must know they won't be let in for "exclusives" !
"Presented live"
😂😂😂
😂😂 I just realised that according to the government, I'm a 62-year Tory😂😂
The BBC has spent the last 4 years telling everyone that everything and anything is a contributer to your mental health. Teachers, doctors, politicians have all been sailing the good ship mental health, and now we have a generation who believe that if their hair is not right, or their makeup does not look right, or their Uber meal delivery is late this is I deed impacting their mental health. The cant work brigade have found their new bad back !
Well done everyone!!
They know they're guilty
As a Dutch guy I must say it always feel a bit Phyton-esk watching Matt. Brilliant. I see Cleese as the anchor and Palin as Jonathan Good Enough. I simply can see it.

I wonder what the mental health rates need to be until we realize that it's the system itself that's unwell.
I have heard that the research into whether rich people can feel sad , is deeply flawed.
I was under the impression that Brexit had cured all mental health problems.
Freed from the EU yoke British persons are free to dance through wheat fields singing lalala etc. as it was always meant to be.

BEASLEY STREET, John Cooper Clarke
It's almost like "let the virus rip and the bodies pile like cordwood" might not be conducive to people's faith in the reliability of their leaders not to go all Fury Road at the first sign of trouble. That sort of thing tends to be worrying.
Also, are the Tories suggesting that the blue-hairs that keep putting people like Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, and Rishi Sunak in the PM's office are examples of sterling mental health?
sooo, if people need to get off their sick bed and get back to work....... Where is Kate? Where is Charlie? Lead by example maybe?
Why is white-collar crime unreported.....?
Have thought about curing your chronic depression by going on a run?
I have suffered with depression for many years and know when to call for help. I did so a couple of years ago and was told to go for a run, by the same doctor who two weeks before suggested I needed an ECG cos me ticker was playing up. Feeling suicidal the concept of going for a run with a dodgy heart to top meself was a new one.
I know it's not much but I hope the thumbs up makes you feel better.
@@johnpritchard8946 Thanks.
At least you had a laugh, that is a mesmerising anti depressant. Keep it up🙌💚
Also: Maybe more people report mental illness when it's normalised to be open about that sort of thing, and they're not having to live in fear of being treated as sub-humans and even thrown into institutions just for stuff like autism. Just maybe.
Nothing changed in 50 yesrs
“Mental Health” is such an overused word used as excuse for pretty much anything that goes wrong in life.
trauma weather in government PTSD when they've gone.
Poor aul Kate, joining the long lists of people who have waiting for years to be seen by a consultant. Oh wait, no. That's not for people like us. That's for the plebs, the poor bastards.
Watashi-wa wakarimasen!
Next up, we have MP Geoffrey Geoff Geoffreys to explain the government's perspective; so tell me Minister, what's your take on mental health?
I think it's complete woke madness! Why, when I was a young whippersnapper we never had these silly problems, and people should just stop being so sad.
But minister, didn't you say that locking down during the pandemic would have a detrimental affect on mental health?
Well yes...
"A priority - absolutely, right up until the point it becomes a drain on resources." And we can't possibly be 'avin' any of that wokey nonsense, now can we.
Or just tell people to not make a fuss - it worked for our grandparents who suffered ACTUAL war, rationing, corporal punishment at home and at school, institutional sexism, harsh working conditions, no central heating, lower life expectancy and so on and so on - hard times breed hard people, easy times breed weak people! Applies across species and across the millennia.
Or it didn’t work. Maybe the only product of suffering is pain.
ADHD and autism aren't mental health issues. They're neurodivergent conditions. They're genetic and hereditory. They can't be cured. They both count as disabilities. Autism is a blessing and a curse and can do more good than harm in some cases, but more harm than good in others. ADHD is a fucking pain in the arse and I hate it. I don't wish I was normal. I just wish I only had the good bits of my autism and synaesthesia (also neurodivergence) instead of having debilitating traits as well that prevent me from being able to function properly. Those traits are some of the causes of mental health problems, but they're not mental health problems themselves. Neurodiversity and mental health are distinct concepts.
Long Fasting is very good for your mental health and can help save money, you see, you are going to get two birds with one stone...that you can eat (the birds not the stone) to break your fasting ♻️
Too many elfs around! Mental elf, National elf!!
Has Mental Health gone too far that is a ridiculous question some people aren’t getting help and all you people who get money and that are saying stuff like that goodness me sort yourselves out man
I know there is the argument that once Labour get into power, satirical comedians like yourself will be out of business, but given that the gap between Labour's political leanings and traditional Tory policies seem to be closing all the time, I suspect it'll be business as usual, about a week after Labour win.
It used to be something you didn't want to admit to. Now its openly used whenever people -mostly millennials -when they have some stress in their life.
It devalues the genuine cases.
Brilliant sign off!!
