For her to have such a important life changing discussion with her kid over the phone shows they are no longer her priority. That’s a conversation for a mom to have with her child face to face to be there to comfort them.
My mom asked us if we liked our step dad before she got engaged to him. I didn't really care but it was sweet that they did and it made us feel more like a unit.

Same here. My mom got traditionally married without telling all of her kids (4) she only told 2 of them or 3. I was the one kid who she didn’t tell anything to because I would take it the hardest. She kept it a secret and never felt the need to apologize, so I moved out of her house and I am currently living with me dad.

It was her choice. They both have kids and she literally could have said that she would love to marry him be she needs her kids to be there. End of story. If a partner can't get behind that, then leave them. These people blame everything on each other but Kourtney could be an adult instead of a child and put her kids first. I feel bad for kids who are not involved and given a choice in matters like this… I came home one day and found my mother sitting on the couch with her best friends husband holding hands pretty much was like your food is on the table and we are together now…. Made me physically sick I was 14 and I got multiple death threats from her ex friend and I got a job a a little store while I attended school also and she would come in and call my mother all kinds of names really loud so I could hear it they finally band her from coming in she picked at me every-time she could I got older I was about 19 at the store with my mother and my mentally disabled 4 yr old sister and we seen her she actually came up by us in line and pushed my little sister…. I almost killed her they had to get security to get me away she was escorted to her car and I unloaded years worth of an ass whooping on her…. My mother was never a fighter but I am I had to be because of her dumb decisions

I believe that she didn't want the kids to be caught on camera if they were to have a bad reaction to the news. You can't ever really know how things are going to go when kids are involved. Kids from divorced parents always wish, even deep down, specially when they are little to see that parents together, so it's a lot of conversation that needs to happen to prepare for that moment. I understand both sides on this, but at the end of the day it was made thinking for what each thought was going to be better for the kids.

Travis should try his hardest to win the kids over so they will be happy that he will be a part of the family. I guess he didn’t do too well in that aspect. But before getting married you should talk to your kids about it’s possibility for sure because it changes their whole life as well.
