      I replaced my sata ssd with a nvme Adata Gammix S11 pro 1tb for my G7, that came with the i7-8750H cpu, 16gb of ram and the GTX 1050 Ti. For my needs, this is an efficient configuration. What kinks you still have with your G7?

      @@MOZARTF as Bob of All Trades mentioned, the mousepad in particular tends to go crazy, either stops recognizing multitouch all of a sudden or stops working entirely, not sure if that can be fixed with software. But other than that the system is perfect, runs through heavy tasks like a beast.

    I've been using the HWinfo fan feature to control temps this whole time, so them finally adding this doesn't really change anything for me, but it's nice to have nonetheless.
    I notice temps are virtually the same when gaming between ultra profile on, and HWinfo fan control set to max. Still getting below 70c temps for both GPU & CPU, except for the more demanding games like Monster Hunter World where the CPU temps are between 69-75, with the frequency being limited to 3.2ghz via throttlestop mind you.
    Seems like the fans rev up to max at the 60c mark
    This is on my G5 with a 1060 maxQ & i5 8300h, with a stable undervolt to the CPU of -140, and an OC of +185 to core clock, +210 to memory clock, and UV of -2 volts to the GPU via msi curve. (Still power limit throttles, smh....)

    • @kakemboluide
      @kakemboluide  5 років тому

      The good thing about the thermal management is that it also allows for altering the clock speeds dynamically based on the profile you're using, and most people aren't very confident with tinkering with complex settings on their own.
      I recently also discovered the trick of limiting CPU frequency for gaming to 3.2GHz, and setting thermal profile to ultra. What this does is it ensures your CPU doesn't overheat, and also makes your GPU core clock run very close to it's max overclock while gaming rather than dynamically altering it, making for a much more stable gaming experience. I'll do a complete separate video on that, so watch this space.

    Does this Laptop heat when browsing, editing videos or when playing games at low settings?

    • @kakemboluide
      @kakemboluide  5 років тому

      It generally doesn't run hot especially with productivity tasks like video editing and 3d rendering. The CPU only power throttles (never thermal throttles). It's just that with some gaming titles like most shooters running at the default 3.9GHz causes the CPU to run hot, which results in a severe downclock of the GPU for extended gaming sessions, so I generally run the CPU at 3-3.2GHz while gaming to keep temperatures below 75degC

    • @00fariz
      @00fariz 4 роки тому

      I have had the same issue on multiple games. before I give you the solution make sure the problem is the same run task manager and just read the performance tab when playing the game. if your cpu is running close to 100 then we have the same issue. first allow for better air flow by put something underneath the laptop that lets air to the fan without blocking them. then switch your battery plan to balanced and go to control panel>hardware and sound> chose a power plan> stay on balanced and go to change plan settings> change advanced power settings> power processor management> maximum processor state> change the plugged in number to 96% and hit apply. now start the game. basically our cpus are running too hard and when they run close to or at 100 they overclock which heats them up too much and then they throttle and we see that fps drops. hopefully this helps I literally just found this solution on a thread for battlefield 5 not 2 hours ago haha

      Yannick Luxi dude if you still haven’t bought it I recommend you buy a gaming desktop because it’s much better and will always run better than a laptop. There are some nice prebuilt pcs but won’t always have the same benefits of building your own pc

      Not really, but it is a lot easier to manage the throttling now. Much better performance in my opinion.

    Hello! I got a dell Inspiron 3593 10th gen laptop. I know it's not gaming at all 🙄 but when I run old games like nfs most wanted 2, gta v with optimized settings the cpu package temperature is always like 90-95 °C, 99°C in some cases. The problem is temperature continuously hits above 90°C it doesn't reduce until closing the game. So i decided to go with cool profile with so much lag but the temperature doesn't go above 70°C. What do you think is it normal And i should go with optimized settings or is it bad and i should stick with cool profile when gaming? ( The laptop is only 2 months old and with the default bios settings.) Waiting for a response 😊

      Hi, go with the optimized setting but use Throttlestop to limit the CPU clocks to, say, 3.0GHz (I have a video on that). The cool and quiet profiles heavily downclock the CPU when the laptop gets hot so never use those for gaming.

    how did you score 1230 cb ?

      Hi, with this BIOS update, the CPU is now able to run at 3.9GHz on all cores at 62W instead of the usual 74W, which means that it can sustain that high boost clock much longer without overheating, and it often lasts at 62W until the end of the test. Normally with 74W it throttles after only a few seconds, which affects the overall score.

      @HaoDK . Shop do you run your laptop outside in the snow?
