"This green is about the size of my right butt cheek". 🤣🤣🤣 Your on course commentary alone is worth a thumb's up lol. Really enjoying the US content Pete, keep up the great work.
I golfed at Tobacco Road for the first time about 2 months ago... I purposely scheduled an overnight layover in Charlotte so I could golf this course. I tee'd off at 7am and even though it was raining the entire time I had a great time. This was my first time ever in the Carolinas and I can't wait to go back and try the other courses in the area as well.
Dammit Man . . . You’re only 45 minutes from my house!!! Tobacco Road is a “Fun One” . . . Would have driven up just to shake your hand and thank you in person for the hours of enjoyment you have supplied. As I begin, I’m grinning from ear to ear . . . Enjoy North Carolina Peter!!!
It looks like that 9th hole has ruined many a Front 9. Quirky, beautiful course! Being in Florida, most of our tracks are boring and flat. Streamsong is at least close by to my area.
RIP Mike Strantz... an absolute legend. You need to play the other Strantz courses in the area (NC, SC, VA). Sadly, he didn't do more before he passed.
That’s probably the best round I’ve seen you play ever Pete, not just the ball striking, and your yardages but the mental strength also. You would have just capitulated about a year ago.
I absolutely love this course. It is a course that playing multiple times it just keeps getting better and you always leave with that same happy giddy feeling because the course is just so whimsical
I said it before and Again! this is better than anything that's on the telly. Well done team Finch, great content , camera work and even the banjo music to add to the southern vibe. GREAT WORK ! Well done everyone! Thanks again for the entertainment. Noel.
Great video Pete! You are one of the few (might be the only) who can carry a video by yourself and still make it interesting for the entire video. Oh and that was impressive going just 1 over on that course having never played there before!
I have been thinking similarly lately as well. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but Pete does seem to succeed (at least in my mind) at single player vlog videos where others tend to fall a bit flat. Grant is probably #2 on the list IMO. He's pretty good at it too.
there are people in our area that either love or hate this course.....I can tell you I am one of the locals that absolutely love it, its just so damn fun
It's so enjoyable to watch someone that is indeed better then me that can easily just play and play well, vs say someone that tries to break 75 and who thins chip shots over greens and who cannot, without flaring it, hit a fade at all. You can see Pete's mind at work as he's talking through shots and such. Like someone else said, "best work in terms of content". Very good series of videos this past month Pete and Team. Especially loved the Bryan Bros stuff.
12:44 Pete’s comment here is exactly how I feel about Tobacco Rd. I want to come back and play it over and over again because it’s just so much fun to play! Another great video Pete!
When you play a difficult course there's normally one hole that sends shivers down your back. This course, every hole is a nightmare. Good to see you play well Pete ❤❤
10:51 Wonderful round of golf, especially having never played this challenging course before. Your driving the green on hole 5 is possibly the best on-course drive I have seen from you ever.
Mr Finch has become my favorite UA-cam golf channel to watch and I love the podcast also - the interaction amongst the team is the best!!! Tobacco Road is my favorite golf course (played Pebble, Bethpage Black, Kiawah Ocean), would play Tobacco Road before all of them - its so much fun to play. Very visually intimidating, yet so open. I have brought friends to play there and they have said 'don't ever bring me back to that stupid #$*^*#$ course again'. As others have said, love it or hate it - not much in between. Another Strantz's course not too far away is Tot Hill Farm (Asheboro, NC), recently completely renovated - instead of sand you have rocks as you primary feature - same Strantz visual challenge though. Next time through the Pinehurst area give it a shot. Keep up the great work!!
I don’t usually comment on vids, but this was one of the best in a fair while for me! Whatever energy you brought into this one, keep doing it - good humour and good vibes all round, I was willing so many putts to drop for you.. especially the last!
Love that you are featuring Tobacco Road. Made a pilgrimage to Pinehurst to play number 2 the year Kymer won the us open there. But the highlight of the trip for me was playing 36 at Tobacco Road. Unique and just a delight, a rollercoaster of a golf experience. Tipped it out and from the first shot to the last it was a delight. Maybe the best day on a golf course and I have played a great collection of famous courses. So,great to relieve that day watching you at Tobacco Road.
Pete, can we expect more content down the road with Luke Kwon and Sean Walsh? I really enjoyed that video and the chemistry you guys had. There's gotta be a full video of 1v1v1. Seeing you play Tobacco Road reminded me of Luke's video from playing it with Sean. Such good content. Love it Pete.
Yes, that was also a great round. Trouble is, there's yet another damned course I just have to play! Thankfully it's just around the corner for me. Cheers from Sydney, Oz - Dave
I've watched quite a few course vlogs of Tobacco Road and this is the first time I've ever really felt like I've gotten a feel for the holes in general and for the finer points like slopes, elevation, angles, distances. The video work is excellent and really highlights the course. Good golf too!
You're providing my most favorite on-course content at the moment (and I watch a lot!) love these, love the qualifiers and an all round funny guy - top of my list of 'golfers you'd like to play a round with and then go to the bar and chat'
I love the personality. not only that, but one of few golfers I see going out to golf just to have fun golfing! LOVE to watch people go out just to have fun and play a round of golf. With all that said, he still performs incredibly well!
I finally got to play Tobacco Road a couple of summers ago. I knew it was going to be a brutal test, but I figured if I could just make myself play conservatively, I had a chance to break 90. Well, no. I shot 99, in large part to the back-to-back 10s I had on 11 and 12. I hit a great 3-wood off the tee on 11, but my hybrid approach faded too much and I wound up in the cavernous waste area, which took my 6 shots to get out! The only hole I didn't like was 13 which is just a bit too gimmicky for my taste, but I'd play the course again in a heartbeat. It was so much fun!
I play with the original greenskeeper for TR and that story is absolutely true but it started first with a walk through the woods and Strantz just visualizing holes like an artist painting a picture.
Asking for the likes Pete? NO-ONE else on facebook is so easy to do each and every time like you are. Your videos are the most enjoyment around golf I get second only to being on the course myself. 👍
Genuinely thinking your now my second favourite UA-cam golfer behind the bulldog great content also heard the golf bidder challenge is coming back in a few weeks so happy days 😂😂
That was absolutely brilliant golf and content Peter! You are on fire - I've seen others play this course on YT and they've hit some of those deep bunkers and it's been brutal! You sailed through that like a hot knife through butter! What a course - as a high handicapper, I think it would take me 2 - 3 days to get around there! Keep it up mate - love watching your golf!
Great round of golf Pete. It was a pleasure to watch you navigate such an 'interesting' course, and the videography was immense too - well played team, and thanks.
Course looks fantastic, i do like golf courses that are or appear to be carved out of the natural landscape. My son, who is striving to reach scratch golf, now understands more, the importance of celebrating the great shots, using his frustration and anger in a positive way, the importance of using his imagination and soaking up the natural beauty of a golf course. Well done, Pete! I think you may enjoy our golf course here in Melbourne, Australia.
My favorite course. After the first time, I was indifferent, but would think about TR more than any other course. More than Pinehurst, Bay Hill, Ocean Course etc. Second time solidified my love for it. Simply special and unique experience. Pure fun.
I have played Tobacco Road a handful of times. I was not a fan the first I played it. But the more I played the more I really liked it- to the point it is one of my favorites. Great shooting Pete!!!
Played here last year for the first time, and headed back there again in June. Just such a unique vibe and course set up. Looking forward to playing it a second time around now that I have a bit of course knowledge.
Peter, congratulations on playing very well on a difficult and visually intimidating course. You struck the ball very solidly. There are Mike Strantz courses around here and are similar in character. Come and play Royal New Kent. Your video presentation was excellent...lots of golf with minimal distractions by you-know-who. Best wishes.
This was a pleasure to watch with another final shot breath hold. That course looks like both a fun and exciting course as well as a complete nightmare.
I’ve been watching Peter since his days with Mark and Lockey and I must say, he’s improved so much over the years. I love his game. Probably one of the best golf UA-camr out there in terms of skill set. Love his positive vibe throughout the whole round too.
I played that course in mid-March a few years ago during an early Spring trip down to that area from Canada. Light rain/snow mix, breezy and the air temp was 3°C! I enjoyed every minute of it!
Hi Pete, Have had a gap from you, you are playing really well. BRILLIANT! Fantastic course, I can see the attraction. Stay good mate Will be watching everything you do now! 😁😁🤪 Cheers Chris
This has been on my list of courses to visit for over a year now, I've heard such good things and now seeing a great video of it, wow. I need to start booking times with the boys.
Absolutely blown away by Tobacco Road Golf Club through your eyes! The way you navigated those blind tee shots and embraced the course's wild design was a masterclass in golfing strategy and adaptability. Your reflections on each hole, especially those risk-reward decisions, really highlighted the artistry and challenge woven into this unique course. It's not just about the score but the incredible journey through such a distinctive landscape. Thanks for taking us on this unforgettable round and showcasing the blend of creativity, strategy, and sheer enjoyment that Tobacco Road offers. Can't wait to see where you'll take us next!
I played this course a year after it opened. Never felt such frustration and jubilation over 18 holes!! I was fortunate to get to play it another dozen or so times before I left North Carolina, hoping I get to come back some day and relive some old memories! Mike made another Gem called Tot Hill Farms, give that one a role Peter, she's a doozy!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane, enjoyed it!! Cheers mate!
Stunning production - it just keeps getting better. Usual witty commentary and awesome soundtrack - not just the choice of music, but the timing was sublime. But seriously, Pete, the idea of you being rendered speechless is about as likely as Mick being similarly afflicted . . . or Kieran winning ‘Guess the Player!’ 🤣 Anyway, my ultimate dream is now playing Tobacco Road with Peter Finch. 😁
I’ve had the pleasure of playing Tobacco Road and it is bar none the most fun I’ve ever had on a golf course! Pete did it a lot of justice trying to explain the magic that the course offers. It’s got to be on everyone’s bucket list!
Peter’s content in the US has been fire, swing looks great, snarky personality is on point ….. I’m here for ALL of it. Thanks Pete 🇺🇸
"This green is about the size of my right butt cheek". 🤣🤣🤣 Your on course commentary alone is worth a thumb's up lol. Really enjoying the US content Pete, keep up the great work.
Yes was wondering if that was an indication of the size of the green or ....
@@peterbonham5540😂
@@peterbonham5540- Ditto that.
Where does the flag pole go then?
He does have an ample posterior 😂

Think this whole
American swing has been your best work in terms of content. Every video has been excellent. Really enjoyed them all
Well said, could not agree more...Keep em coming Pete and the Open is yours
Dammit Man . . . You’re only 45 minutes from my house!!! Tobacco Road is a “Fun One” . . . Would have driven up just to shake your hand and thank you in person for the hours of enjoyment you have supplied. As I begin, I’m grinning from ear to ear . . . Enjoy North Carolina Peter!!!
That's on my list for a guys trip to the Pinehurst area. I'm 1.5-2 hrs away.
I played at Tot Hill Farms about two weeks ago while traveling to Raleigh for work, really cool track. I want to play TR next time I’m out there.
It looks like that 9th hole has ruined many a Front 9. Quirky, beautiful course! Being in Florida, most of our tracks are boring and flat. Streamsong is at least close by to my area.
Went to college at Methodist University, we used to come up here all the time such a fun place for skins games :)
Fun to watch played there years ago
RIP Mike Strantz... an absolute legend. You need to play the other Strantz courses in the area (NC, SC, VA). Sadly, he didn't do more before he passed.
I played Caledonia last year, doing True Blue this year, hoping to do this one soon.
That’s probably the best round I’ve seen you play ever Pete, not just the ball striking, and your yardages but the mental strength also. You would have just capitulated about a year ago.
Compiculated 🤣 brilliant. is that a Scrabble word?
Your crew most definitely earn their 2.50 quid an hour for the coverage of your round Pete.. Absolutely brilliant editing and great fun to watch
Your best vid yet, Pete. Production has stepped up massively without being OTT, and your commentary on each shot is spot on as well. Keep it coming!

Pete is just as entertaining when he talks to himself as when he’s chatting away with others.
there are people in our area that either love or hate this course.....I can tell you I am one of the locals that absolutely love it, its just so damn fun

Thank God it's not only me, with similar thoughts.
Are you referring to anyone in particular? 😂
@@mattcorcoran7082 I name no names, but Wesley Bryan is a good chipper!!!
I think we all know who you mean 😊
Rick is a 9 handicapper who thinks he’s scratch and thinks he hits it a mile longer than he does BUT he does make good content
Pete excellent choice in background music, I almost grabbed my cow boy hat to watch this.🤠
LOVE the upgrade in presentation with “pin” and “target.”
I have probably played TR a dozen times. It's the most fun I've had on a course. I have always described it as "playing golf at the circus".
12:44 Pete’s comment here is exactly how I feel about Tobacco Rd. I want to come back and play it over and over again because it’s just so much fun to play! Another great video Pete!
Your videos in the last six months have gone up tenfold and your attitude on camera is great yes Pete
When you play a difficult course there's normally one hole that sends shivers down your back. This course, every hole is a nightmare. Good to see you play well Pete ❤❤
The ninth hole was up there. Looked as if it had been designed by Picasso.
😂😂😂 Looks scary but fun for sure

Played this course a week ago for the first time and absolutely loved it. So cool to see Pete play here knowing the course

Glad u discovered one of the most fun golf courses in the sand belt of NC. There's so much sand, there r no rakes. Like no other course anywhere!
Playing some great golf Pete.. Have to say that place looks spectacular... Some quirky holes but some beautiful holes as well...

Great video and great round! I used to live 1hr from Tobacco Road, so was very spoiled playing it regularly. Really a one of a kind course.

Pete your game looks good. Great to see love the vid. Thanks to you, filming and editing team
Well played Pete what a golf course.
Great content Pete! Loving the new scoring graphics too guys 🏌🏻♂️
I have watched this so many times! I’m going to say this has to be the best UA-cam video ever!! Nice work Peter & crew!
Have played this course a few times. Love this place. It’s a work of art

So many great courses in NC. Lots of them, not many people have heard of and will cost you like $50. One of the many reasons I live here.
just don't golf in the pinehurst area... they got a crazy premium here for zero reason. everything here is 100 overpriced, it's wild.
What a fantastic looking course and you played awesome
Great course that and great golf aswell
