Dude, you’re a legend! Love all your vids and your colour course. Precise, in depth information with zero BS. Keep on doing you! We all thank you for it!
Thank you for another very helpful tutorial. The last bit, splicing music together was a technique I have not used yet, will try it for sure in the future.
I keep forgetting the cmd function to reduce the amount of play with the audio! Thanks for the reminder again! (and again). I think I already forgot about it. What were we talking about? So fresh and clean DJ!
😂 no problem dude. I’ll keep reminding you like we’re in a scene in the notebook. Thanks for watching! Although this is my least favorite tutorial I’ve made in years 😅
Hey man, Im a concert videographer and I love all of the videos you make. Not everything is tailored to what I do, but even the amount of shortcuts ive discovered because of you has helped my workflow. thank you
I just got into your color grading course over the weekend. I've barely made it through to the color correcting section of it and I already feel that I've gotten my money's worth. I would totally elaborate on that, but I don't wanna give away the course! 😜The only other aspect of video creating that I feel I'm really light on is sound design, wondering when that course comes out. And then, what do ya know, your next vid is a bunch of awesome hacks on better sound design. Nice! Thanks for everything you do!
That makes me so dang happy to hear, Justin 🤘🏼 I put a ton of time into it and I do think I'm undercharging for it, but I want as many FCP users to improve the look of their videos so when someone sees it, they think it came from Resolve 😜 As far as the sound design course, I'm working on it as we speak, but it likely won't be released until end of February or March. This time of year is always really busy for be, so there's been a slight delay.
Saved to the DJ folder. I really need to tryout Artlist. That 2 month deal is the way to do it. I been meaning to ask you, why is FCP creating a separate folder in my SSD? And how do I stop it?
i still wait for a finalcut feature that you can crop a track to e specific length and AI will rearrange the song with a nice ending 😅😂 i always do that trick what you show on 13:00 but sometime it sounds
That would be really incredible haha. Ya it's definitely trial and error. Sometimes the song just doesn't end the way you want. That's where that cathedral trick can come in handy.
Hey wassup Dylan it's been a minute since the last time we spoke … first of, happy new new with all the blessings i can wish you. I'm really down to integrate your color grading master class, but i got some question i would ask you if possible cause, i live in the west indies and i would like to know some additional terms regarding the masterclass before joining it. Let me know when you got free time to answer my questions. Thanks you for your work and your creative dedication … Salute to you 💯👌🏾
Hey brother! Happy new year! I have time. You can drop them in these comments or better yet, send me an email: dylanjohn@fcpcolorgradingmasterclass.com
I would say it is better to actually not have a crossfade that long between 2 audio clips as you showed in "better music endings" and if you can, even no crossfade and just cut on the beat, because otherwise it would cause phasing issues and would be noticeable. other than that, loved the video!
That's why you get them matched up on the beat. And if there are any phasing issues, it'll be minute and nearly be undetectable by the listener. I will agree with you though that some songs do not work for a long crossfade like that. It's trial and error. Some you're better off only having a few frame overlap with a fade. Thanks for watching!
Hey I just wanted to tell you that even you make cathedral effect 0 by adding keyframe the effect will be applied like 1% barely we can see the changes and its not good I feel

Give Artlist a look! It has the best music, stock footage and SFX imo.
I'm so mad I've never thought of the multicam clip with the instumental/vocal tracks. Genius man.
Happy to help 😊
Didnt know styles of fades existed thanks❤
No problem 😊 Glad I could teach you something.
Thanks a ton. It is very valuable knowledge. With your tips, my videos are getting better and better.
So so happy to hear that 😊 keep on crushing it!

Thanks for watching, dude! When you import your footage, make sure you have 'leave files in place' selected. If not, it'll copy your files.
@ pretty sure I set that all up a long time ago. Idk what’s going on.

What headphones do you use when editing?
I usually have them connected to my speakers but if I do edit with headphone I use my Bose Quiet Comfort 35s
I had no idea what the range tool was for
Happy to help, Kalin! You'd love some of my other videos it sounds like. Especially this one: ua-cam.com/video/Fu1-HVeCWRA/v-deo.html

My question is how do i get the newest music from TT or insta for my Videos in FCP?
Try this video 👉🏼 ua-cam.com/video/doFYNjZ2jLU/v-deo.html
@ great video, thanks ❤️
Legit , didn’t know you could right click the fade at the end, you can also add a crossfade transition to the song too, not just the clips
I got you 👊🏼

ARTLIST looks good but what about photos?
Unfortunately Artlist isn't a stock photo site
Hello bro❤
Hey bro
can i have your sound pack from this video ?
It's multiple sound packs. And no, sorry.
Hey I just wanted to tell you that even you make cathedral effect 0 by adding keyframe the effect will be applied like 1% barely we can see the changes and its not good I feel
Then if it's noticeable, you can cut the music, overlap and add a fade, and take off the cathedral effect from the music before. Easy peasy.
3:54 Ohhh man, I thought that was a little girl. I'm sorry _other_ Dylan :(
🤣🤣🤣 this just made my day. I'll definitely be sharing this with him.
@@dylanjohndickerson Haha, I really did have to take a second take when he turned his head. "What's this?"
Love you both!
