One thing to note! When taking off the last cover to show the positive, use a flathead to release the clamps!! thanks for the video!

Would a low 12v batter (small one in back of volt) cause it to toss a P1e00 code? Have a 2012 volt that just started showing that could (Non specific) but I don't think the cars 12v in the back has ever been replaced. Was getting oil change and they found the code but the car runs fine. Been using gas only no charging in Florida. Its cheaper than the electric cost.

Low voltage would give false siginals

@@RBTheMechanic I found out more, she got oil changed and the next day it the check engine light came on and autozone checked it found that code p1e00. I said check the oil level maybe its a leak from the oil place not securing the oil drain plug and leaking.

"Under the hood remote battery terminal" today I tried to give a jump to my friend's car and that under the hood terminal now read 0 volts , there must be a fuse somewhere but so far I have not found it, did you look into that yet? cause that terminal is very useful, mine is a 2017 but same configuration. Except rear battery is much more accessible in the 2016 up. thanks

How did you know the battery needed replacing? I have a 2013, the car only starts with my portable jump box or another car. Do you advise I change the battery?

Note I can turn the car on to listen to music but it has issues starting. 100% charge and gas

I don't agree that jumping the car from the battery is a good idea. There are studs in front, that he used in this video, for jumping the car. Remember, you are only trying to start the electronic stuff, not the ICE engine.
I do have to hand it to him, though. He did a lot of this one handed, which is a good trick.

Yeah bro just trying to help out people avoid power loss and memory especially on Toyotas which makes car stall after battery change and then they r forced to go to dealer/ mechanic which will tell them Bullshit for $600

Studs in the front are for jumping the volt, battery access in the back is for jumping another car. It’s weird but I’ve learned it from experience.

Do you have to add 12v power to the front of the car? or is it ok for the car to be completely disconnected from the rear 12v battery.

The first part looked simple enough but as video went on I see it definitely looks like something I couldn't do myself. Being careful not to fry myself or something. Have to find a mechanic. Thanks for your video.

@@RBTheMechanic my muffler shop that installed the cat said the aftermarket cat is okay to install now in cali, we just have to call and make apointment to the smog check referee and tell them what happened to the car and it will allow the car to passed the smog, but im wondering if cat is okay but still the po141 is still on maybe it will not pass the emission

@@vplacio I understand stand but the emission still has to match which car was made with other wise it will read as fault so u need to make sure u have correct sensor and catalytic besides that the knock sensor code is somthing else

I got the 2014 Chevy Volt Premier and it's built like a tank. Awesome car only maintenance is an oil change and a few things at a 100k and top off coolant every once in awhile for battery cooling.
