thank you so much for the video! I watched many videos of this type of tutorial and yours is by far the easiest to follow and the most extensive. thanks to you i was able to do my homework!
Hi, Thanks for your video which can be helpful to the younger generation of photographers. Just one thing I should mention is that the solenoid is made in such a way it is meant to delay not the flash but the shutter... The flash gun which fires the flashBULB first and then with the right amount of delay triggers the shutter. This is necessary (with bulbs) in order for the shutter to open up while the flash is at its peak. Otherwise it would close too early unless you have chosen 1/10th or longer exposure times. Strobes on the other hand have no delay and are triggered from the shutter. You probably know that but in the process of explaining things it's easy to make wrong statements !
Must admit, before even looking thru any viewfinder, I *mentally* try to envisage what a particular scene would look like in 2D. If it piques my interest, _then_ I'll bring the viewfinder up to my eye and continue the decision-making process. So often a supposedly 'great scene' looks like 'bleh' when viewed. We photographers call THAT the photographer's eye, and, as we all know, it takes some time to develop. (Pun intended). IMHO, the 'ease' of digital and do-overs has made 'discernment' redundant.
Actually this the best series of instructions that is out there. Thanks!
