No night heater is a mistake by the "cheap charlie" owner. It doedn't matter if the driver does not use the bunk for nights out. A night heater can be used to warm up the cab and de-frost the windows in the winter and keep the driver warm if he has to wait to unload and also if he gets stuck in the winter in a traffic jam or snow conditions.
Yeah, on cold winter mornings at 5am a night heater can get you out the door and driving a lot faster. These big diesel engines take so long to warm up at idle that'll be waiting a fair while for it to defrost on its own
Stavros doing a great show of MPG on a "full load of glider engines". Loves you stavros full week driving and then these fantastic Videos filmed at the weekends and sent out for our viewing pleasure on a Sunday morning. You are... "Simply the best Vehicle video maker, in my eyes with the outstanding knowledge of all the differing vehicle's you film". Stavros you make my Sundays, it's been a while since i last told you this, thank you.
The longer wing mirror mountings are due to the rigid body (curtain sider) is wider than the cab so the mirrors are more extended than the tractor unit to compensate for extra width
Great video I’ve never liked the man truck I drove one for 2 years. The dash layout is wrong and the bed is uncomfortable and when you’re getting out of bed in the morning you always sat on your bollocks because of that bit that pulls up to stop you falling out of bed. It was one of the worst trucks I’ve ever driven in my driving career. It’s not a bad looking truck but needs some real updates especially the dashboard we’re it needs to be rapped around you like other trucks so you’re not stretching to get to things and taking your eyes off the road. 👍👍👍👍👍
great video review about the same kind of truck I drive where I work - would love to drive the articulated trucks but the C+E test is impossible to pass unless you get lucky on test day.
Tidy and very practical machine! Would those mounting points have anything to do with flex? The springs seem to be a damper maybe? Interesting non the less! *Edit, might give opal a look, last driver of my Volvo was a smoker....grim*
Hate these semi auto boxes, I haven't driven a Hgv for about 7 years, the fun has gone out of it, can't beat an 8 speed manual 4 over 4 in a rigid, good progress can be made. From what I gather its pretty impossible to buy a modern truck with a manual box.
It's interesting that you guys don't have air on your front axels. Here in Norway I've driven one ridgid without, and thats very rare. I've never seen or driven a semi without air on every axle. We have more than 40 scania ridgids and trailers in our fleet and every axle is on air.
Fitzgerald bodies, I never liked them. They'd rot and rust far quicker than the equivalent Quinn body. Always preferred a Quinn body on our Connacht Court Group trucks back in the day. Always preferred the Atego too :)
I drive a TGM 26, they're good trucks but the gearbox in these things make me want to rip my hair out. They're in a constant state of having an identity crisis, they forget they're supposed to change gears
"... and now let's do a three point turn"😂😂 The last one I drove had no fag lighter so my satnav ran out of juice by midday! Rang the chief and told him it's payday for me 😂 😂 😂
Drove a man rigid 460 6 wheeler for a couple of years. Great pulling lorry but the gearbox is rubbish and the overall quality of the lorry wouldn't be that great.
This man's reviews are so wholesome
I agree! always love watching them

Greetings from Czech Republic, thank you so much for your amazing truck videos!!!
Yes finaly another MAN
Another great review Stavros! Do keep them coming! Would you consider doing a review on a tractor or some construction machinery?
He does have a tractor review :)
Alexander Vikman I cant believe I have been subscribed for a year or more and didn’t know about that! You learn something each day 😂
I used to drive MAN tgm 18,280 4x4 for 5 years whn i was n my homeland.. now am in switzerland hooe to drive one love MAN trucks
Great way to teach and simple to realise
Thanks! I like it when you enhance the reviews with personal history. Experience matters.
Drive a 2019 tgm 18.250 flatbed. Gearbox can be slow to downshift when taking off at roundabouts and junctions. Other then that it’s a great truck.
Can you review a Daf 105 and Volvo Fh older gen
I'm waiting for that too!!!

Wow...torque up to 1,750Nm? I think only 750Nm.
Tell us more about how you got into trucking and what to expect for new drivers or people like me who are considering it. Keep the vids coming 😁
Hi Stavros. Thanks for the review, I can fully identify with what you say as I just passed my test in one of these.
In finland we usually have only taillift and no doors
@ArmageddonRacingno its more like the taillift also works like the door :)
@ArmageddonRacing sorry mate XD
Stavros is an awesome reviewer! Great video!
Ringiq
Highly entertaining video as usual, love the truck videos.
First rigid I drove was a mer actros . Couldn't figure out how to get it to reverse slowly. The creeper gear was on, but would go back so fast.
Thank you for upload!
Brilliant review!
I'm doing my rigid test this week in the same truck
Can you review an Iveco turbostar?

You have to tip the throttle sooner to let the gearbox know your are ready to accelerate.
can you do freightliner argosy review
Nice truck

That's cool truck👍👍
I really appreciate what you are doing and can you do something for the howo trucks
Any partime jobs in Rory Lynch for rigid drivers
Stavros Sunday's.
are you gonna do a video of your daily truck? and what was you first truck? mine was a Scania R470 6X2 rigid topline.
Any idea why the red light is that comes on next to the speedo on the dash. It comes on and off intermittently. I can’t find out what it is anywhere
Like the humorous bloopers at the lmao xD

Where did you get that book? I can't find it online 😫

the MAN cooler boxes are useless, the heat from the engine comes through the floor and into the box effectively cooking whatever you have in it
Zepro 👌
Man veya volvo 330 hangisine kolay ulasabilirsem birtane alıp karavan yaptıracağım. 20 yıl kamyon kullandım
Interesting truck 😃😂
Leyland truck video?
lol if you can find one!! They've been insolvent since the 80's...
why are there aeroplanes on the road
"... and now let's do a three point turn"😂😂
The last one I drove had no fag lighter so my satnav ran out of juice by midday! Rang the chief and told him it's payday for me 😂 😂 😂
we have that gearbox fited in MAN coaches...One of the worse gearboxes i've ever used
Bruder designs man trucks in 16 scale
My dad drives a rigid just got a new Mercedes
Drove a man rigid 460 6 wheeler for a couple of years. Great pulling lorry but the gearbox is rubbish and the overall quality of the lorry wouldn't be that great.
one day i hope you review and test drive Bus 😂
I think MAN should use those mirrors more. For example replace the horrible, one piece mirrors with those ones.
What about the Mercedes Benz mirrors?
Racing Planet yeah but merc now has the mirror cam. And the older mp3s have pretty good mirrors.
Get a scania XT
Had à MAN, nerver again 🤮
