    For oil pump you can use the Ford EcoBoost oil pump no problem. I currently have now on my latest build and by looking at the oil pressure gauge I have I can tell there's no difference in oil pressure at each RPM point compared to the OEM one. Of course I'm using the same oil. Ford EcoBoost oil pump part# is F2GZ-6600-A. Got this one from Edge and another one for a spare block from SP63.

    First? Dope build, and yeah the 30 minutes between torque stepping up is essential, I have watched smart ass know it all’s break arp studs because they didn’t wait nearly long enough and then go several ft-lbs over the max suggested torque spec.

    I think I was the one that told you about using an Allen key to install the head bolts and washers onto the head studs..... same as the rod trick... good stuff. Question how did you torque the oil pump gear since it keeps turning... I think your viewers might want to know since it might a little difficult for most..

    Did your new pistons and rings make a slight scraping noise when turning crank by hand? I removed my piston and the rings and cylinder wall looked good - it just the noise of the rings that is throwing me...
    Could it just be the new rings riding the de-glazed cylinder wall making a noise?

    Did you tighten by hand and let the rtv ultra grey sit for an hour before torquing? Just so you know it won't leak...

    Why did you choose 0.051" thick head gasket over OEM 0.030"? Do you want to lower compression ratio?

    First, don't assume HP numbers in title before it's running. You doomed the last one.
    2nd, why didn't you go up to 2.5ltr bottom?

    • @SpoolingUpPerformance
      @SpoolingUpPerformance  3 роки тому +2

      First, i wouldn’t normally assume but I know what it will make because it’s a proven combination. I’m actually being reserved because it could make more. I was making well over 600 with a wayyy smaller turbo and less motor.
      2nd, there is no need really on this car (for me), the fastest mazdaspeeds in the world have 2.3’s. Proven

    • @numinous4789
      @numinous4789 3 роки тому +1

      @@SpoolingUpPerformance I know the 2.3 is proven, but I've honestly been very interested in trying the 2.5 myself. Nishan's vids show how amazing the 2.5 can be, not as a function of max power (heck, all you have to do is turn up boost for more power), but in terms of a lower boost threshold and an overall more responsive powerband.
      The extra displacement knocks hundreds of rpms off of boost threshold and quickens spool, which is definitely a huge win for larger-frame turbos. The axiom is still true, even for turbo cars: there's no replacement for displacement.
