How-to change tail lights or rear lights on BMW F20/F21 LCI.

Installing blackline tail lights on my m140i. I was upgrading from standard cherry red to the blackline/shadowline tail lights.
This video is for how to remove and install rear lights on a BMW F20/F21 LCI Facelift.
My first how-to video. Sorry for any mistakes during the process. I couldn't find a video fully about this and the boot so I decided to make one.
Tools needed:
-8mm socket
-10mm socket
-T15 Torx
-T25 Torx
-Phillips screwdriver

I have 2016 m135i (lci) are all the rear lights the same for f20 and f21 lci? A small crack appeared in cover. Want to order from ebay. Great video

As long as it’s the 2015 f20 lci it should be the same.

If I buy a new rear light unit but use the same bulbs and bulb holder as I currently have, do I need to code it in?

No. It's plug and play.

⁠is this a question or a statement? It’s plug and play regardless if it’s the “shadow/blackline” facelift LCI taillights. The harness and what it plugs in to is the same on both versions of the light.

I try to find the following information, do you know if the MSport cars manufactured after 2018, have these blackline tails? Mine is slightlly darker but I can't really tell them apart :D
do you have parts number for the blackline tails?
Also, is that black decal on around the badge? Thanks a lot, looks superb on red.

Anything from mid-end 2017 and definitely anything after 2018 are shadow/blackline.

The black decal you can just get off aliexpress and it sticks on with 3m double sided tape. Easy to take off if you don't like it.
