Excellent as always, sir. Read the rules a few days ago and opted to watch this as a refresher before a gaming session today. I got exactly what I needed in half the time.
This game really took me by surprise. Managed to get a copy in the UK, although quite hard to find. My wife isn't really into games as much as me and only likes a select few. We both loved this game. Reminds me a lot of Pandemic and Forbidden Island. Production quality is also really good. Had it not been for this video I wouldn't have found out about this diamond of a game!
Thanks for the clear explanation, just one question, what happens to an art box in a city that gets lost? We cannot retrieve it anymore so if it doesn't get back to the supply one way or another we could fail as well?
Hey Mr. Smith sir, is there any way we could maybe get a Root tutorial done by you? You by far have the best "how to plays" and i just spent hours trying to teach myself how to play. I think i just bit off more than i could chew, i had a 4-player game set up and was trying to learn all of the factions simultaneously while also learning the game.
I like the games designed by Florian Sirieix and I am so looking forward to this. I also absolutely love the art by Vincent Dutrait. Now, if only this were available to buy somewhere in Europe in English... Guess it'll come eventually. I just get impatient as I've been hearing about this for a while from different events, but I understand those don't necessarily reflect the official release dates.
@@benzene31 Nice, good to hear that. Looking forward to getting it. Retailers in Finland I've contacted have either had no idea about the release schedule or have not even ordered it.
I'm not 100% sure on the ally dice rules. When I played, I rolled the die first before placing it in the ally die space, but you just picked one die and set it to 5. What is the rule on this? Do you roll all 5 dice first and then add them to a general supply?
Hi Michael - I'm not setting the die to 5, I'm just "setting the die on the table". It doesn't start on a certain value - the value is created when you roll the die during a fight. I will say in the video that you roll the dice, but for the sake of an example, I might "show" you specific values (so I can create a specific situation for you). Hope that makes sense? Let me know if you have further questions.
@@WatchItPlayed Ah yeah I get it thank you! To be honest when the rules stated that 'They ally dice do not change' I thought it meant you roll once, and that value is used for all fights! This makes more sense :)
@@WatchItPlayed Obviously, it would be either Moose or Beaver. Just keep us here in the US safe from Lava Bears, but try to do it without unleashing those bomb cyclones into the US. That's too cold for us.

Wonderful to hear - have fun playing!
Exquisite explanation, sir! So incredibly clear yet comprehensive. They should include a card with the address to this video in the box.
So nice of you to say - very glad it was helpful :)

It's been getting a lot of play here as well - glad you're also enjoying!
I like how the colours you picked matched the colour of your shirt 😂
Nice catch :)

Hi Martin, in that case, the art box is returned to the supply.
Great video! I love this new line of games by the OP.
Me too - we've been playing this a bunch.

Thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about that here: ua-cam.com/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/v-deo.html&t=342

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long!
it is available in English in the UK, distributed by hachette boardgame UK. it is coming out early November (so, pretty much now...)

Do you always get the game boxes correct side up on the first flip every time at the beginning of every HTP video? Or are there multiple attempts?
It's movie magic 🎉🎉🎉
Are you suggesting I may not succeed the first time, every time?? *gasp*
@@WatchItPlayed You are truly great at doing it! No look and all. 😄 I was suggesting maybe in an alternate universe you had to do it more than once. 😜

If you don't have the resources to resolve a card and dont want to spend life, what do you do?
You have to spend life in that case, and if you run out of life to spend, you lose. Hope that helps!
Just played our first game, we lost but it was a fun death 😅
Always good for there to be a challenge!
This game is screaming to have variable player powers.
Hmmmm, possible expansion idea there.
Thanks Rodney. I've just purchased 'Hellton Palace', there's only French 'how-to-plays'. I would love to see an English version... 😉🥲🤓
