there's not many covers of this song, so i thought i'd throw my hat in the ring! wanna know a secret? really wanna? ok, here goes: i wanted to do wiegenlied, so i had to do daughter of white, so i had to do regret message. the last few videos have all been motivated solely by my unquenchable desire to be the dying gay tree (spoilers?)

I love how in Lens song, their is a whole Verse about how he meets Michaela and how he loves her, but he isn't mentioned in her song apart from when she mentions the "killer with unusual golden hair"

Well, I think because they didn't know each other very well and she didn't know about the relationship he had with Rilliane, besides that Allen arrived when Michaela was already dying.

Michaela can guess his feeling since its all over his face XD . Also when he cry in front of her when she nearly die she think : 'Ha ha. Boys really are dumb. "
i absolutely love how the ending bit of this song, with Michaela actually has a deeper double meaning, and is meant to be foreshadowing for the entire series.
On first glance, it's obviously meant to be about how Michaela was first reborn as a human being, then a divine tree(if only i could be reborn), but when you know how the entire franchise ended, it's actually also foreshadowing that She, along with Clarith and most of the other characters from this series ended up getting reborn alongside/into the next world created at the very end of the franchise(if only we could be reborn in some far off land).
So presumably, she and Clarith finally did get a flat out happy ending in the end, getting to be reborn together in the fourth period... Which hopefully will involve them getting long lives together, and not be undercut by another tragedy.

That duet by Clarith and Micheala had 2 callbacks, first your servant of evil (They could hate you they could hunt you they could scream out and revile) and then basically all of Clarith's lines until the around last ones (The full image is there) for both of them which I haven't seen in any of your covers so far

Okay, this has nothing to do with the Song itself but...it always kinda triggered me, that in the other english cover Wiegenlied is not pronounced right (Still love the other one too but as a German native speaker it annoys me whenever original German words are not pronounced 100% right and yeah I know, that is stupid.) but you said it right, that's nice! Also I really, really like the lyrics and I love the Story of Michaela and Clarith too much!
Shelly hi, i don't think that's a stupid thing to be bothered by! it can be grating to hear people mispronounce your language, or any language--truth be told, i find the incorrect pronunciation in some covers a little irritating as well, even though i'm not a german speaker. i'm glad you enjoyed this, and relieved that my pronunciation was acceptable!! (i googled it before i recorded the vocals just to triple check, but i was worried in case i was missing some kind of important nuance or had taken bad advice from an unreliable source 😅)

As I'm writing the next chapter of my book explaining the story of Evillious Chronicles, I listen to songs
I'm feeling like I say that about all of your songs but it's true, I really like that one, my favorite part being when Michaela realizes her love for Clarith and the duet that follows
Just thought about it, as Michaela was assignated as male in the Second Period but was ressurected in a body similar to Eve's one, seeing herself as female and, even while remembering the Second Period, still gendered herself with female pronouns and appeared in her human form

so i like the idea of trans allen for a few reasons. one is that it just makes an extra bit of sense: riliane and allen are implied to be identical twins, and identical twins are always of the same sex (with half-identical twins existing as a super rare exception). there's also his birth name, Alexiel, which always sounded a little feminine to me. but more importantly, i think allen being trans works well thematically to make his sacrifice more heart wrenching. in "becoming" his sister, hes forsaking his entire identity to save her because that's how devoted he is. if he is trans, there's a whole other layer to that, because he would also be renouncing his gender identity, which is of course super important to most trans people, and just kind of compounds how huge and painful it is that he's doing that for riliane.
it's not canon like trans girl michaela is, but i think it adds a lot to the story!
