They couldn't figure out how to make it so a 4 legged fighter would work with all of armageddon's mechanics
So they wrote it in to where it make sense to where Shao Khan punished Motoro and his people for his failure in MK trilogy by stripping them of their former glory with his Magic.

So disappointed that he isn’t using his tail and the lasers like in the old games. It’s sad to see all of these boss characters that were badass and difficult in the 2D games, get reduced down to just another typical fighter
Wrong. The big dudes took less damage and had stronger hits even in regular 1v1
i think this game would be better if it was like MK Deception but they included so many characters and they all have the same combo style and some have the same specials

Now wait a damn minute I thought Motaro had 4 legs and now he only got 2
He has two legs in this game reportedly because of an animation limitation they had when developing this game. It would've taken too much time to develop an entirely new system for him to the point where it would've justified cutting his character. So they decided to give him 2 legs instead. It's incorporated into his ending where it's revealed it's part of a magical curse.

What is "TAS"?
A tool-assisted speedrun, or tool-assisted superplay (TAS), is generally defined as speedrunning a game in an emulator with the goal of creating a theoretically perfect playthrough.
