I’m sorry that this is a super long video. I’ve tried to put lots of chapters in, so please skip around at your leisure or…let it play through in the background for the UA-cam algorithm Gods 😜!
It's so nice to see you back here. I look forward to any of your videos - straight talks, coloring, your menopause journey, sewing, anything you do with Tarot/Oracle.... You were missed.
As a fellow middle aged person, I am really interested in your life experience. Everything you mention there: your Mormon upbringing, parenting your own children, going through (peri)menopause, what aspects of your life decisions have gone well, what would you do differently second time around. And I think you could use tarot as a frame work for that, if you use it as a tool for psychology/self-analysis/conversation prompts. You simply use you favourite decks from your existing collection and show how you work with them. You could also use your colouring and other hobbies as a similar frame. Personally, I’m tired of unboxings and prefer to watch how tarot plays a role in ppl’s life or how they use it creatively.
Thank you! The sky is the limit as far as UA-cam. If I could figure it out, I would really like to do some lives and talk and interact with you all. I think that would be fun 🤩
Oh, I loved seeing you pop up today! I enjoy your longer form, chit chatty videos while I'm crafting. I'm so here for whatever content you feel like making. ❤
@@oldsoulmermaid1543 Quilting mostly, but I learned how to crochet mid way through December and have a feeling 2024 is going to be the year of the afghan for me! Haha
🎉 You’re back!! 😍 Hearing about your life experiences, watching you do something you enjoy, all of this sounds amazing! And honestly, I think the enjoyment part is the most important, whether it’s tarot or coloring or anything else. We are here because we value you and your perspective, and want to take part in your exploration of what gives you joy 🌻
Sooo glad to see you. I had to push the video to say that you are not sounding elitist to me. I grew up in Dallas and I live in central Texas no and it can take an hour to go 15 miles in some places. Traffic is a real issue here. I’m glad you are in a place where you can recognize what isn’t working and able to make changes. I’m a 51 yr old mom of a special needs kiddo who finds herself an unwilling empty nester. I recently went back to work to occupy my mind and process grief. I admire and take inspiration from your sharing your process. Evaluating reality and making changes when needed is a sign of wisdom imo. You go girl.
You did not sound elitist. Yours were honest thoughts on your experience. I've also been thinking of letting go of some of my beloved but unused decks as well. There's no rush for me but it is a growing thought. I'd love to see deep dives from you. I think a lot of us are cutting back on purchasing and revisiting and deep diving on the decks we already have. I don't think you need to be an "expert" to have something to share. I'm older than you and I have always enjoyed your channel.
Thank you! I think we all went a little crazy with the decks during the lockdowns…it was easy to do. Also, creators had the time to create these beautiful decks then.
I enjoy your prospective coming to the tarot and Oracle and topics surrounding them. Even though you may not be buying as much you still have a valid voice for such things. I look forward to seeing the videos you post in the coming year.
No talent! All of those colorings are absolutely beautiful. You have an incredible talent. I’m so glad you came back to you too. I loved watching your videos and I look forward to watching more and seeing your talent grow. ❤
Aww 🥰…you’re too sweet. I am, of course, comparing myself to all of the wonderful colorists here on UA-cam. Usually, watching amazing abilities like they have would make me want to shrink back in my little shell and not even try, but in this case it really inspires me to “give it a go” because it’s so darn fun 🤩!
Ooh I was actually meant to comment about your colouring work...which btw is fantastic! But I did go on a bit of a tangent in my prior comment 😆 Ok so I was going to say that I can relate about the type of paper used in some of these colouring books and such a shame when the art is so good and when they do that 'back to back' thing too. What you could do is to photo copy/scan the art pages first and then once you find your perfect paper medium you enjoy using just buy a ream of that to print them on to. The other bonus doing this is you can also do tester/practice goes on certain ones that you really love and perhaps want to display at some point etc...that's what I would do myself 💜💫
nice to see you again one more time before 2024, Bonnie! 🥰🥰 I hope you have a great start to your new year ✨️ thank you so much for sharing an update, your coloring skills are fantastic!! 🫶🏼 as for coming across as "elitist," I didn't get that impression, but what I realize is how I'm a part of this "rat race" as you mentioned & how going to work & being an adult with responsibilities holds me back from doing mindful hobbies & tarot/journaling :( very similar to how you said you stopped your routine because you had to get ready for your commute to work & blah blah. it's so exhausting.. I hope I can get better at prioritizing helpful routines & not feeling so drained to the point where I don't feel like doing anything at all & shut my brain off lastly, as for royalty-free music, I think UA-cam has a copyright free music library built right into their UA-cam studio tab! it's totally free, so that might be a better option for you if you choose to cancel your epidemic sound subscription :) thanks so much again for posting, I'll be looking out for all the video ideas you come up with next year 😊💖
It is so hard when you are in the hustle of youth phase of life. You’ve given me an idea for a video. Not having much time for myself when I was raising a family took a toll on my mental health for sure. Finding some time in the day or week for something your passionate about is key to surviving mentally intact…IMHO.
So lovely to see you. I would double check your terms with Epidemic Sound. My understanding is that as long as you had an active subscription when you made the video that your license remains valid even after you no longer subscribe to the service. It's one of their big selling points I've seen highlighted in sponsored videos talking about them... Also love seeing your coloring! :) I color but rarely these days but your shading and blending is lovely!
Hi, Lisa! It’s so good to hear from you! Thank you for the “heads up” on Epidemic Sound. I do need to read the fine print 😜. I do love their musical selections. I do remember that you did some coloring in one of your videos. I think you were coloring in the then new Modern Witch Tarot coloring book and that you were using Polychromos pencils…if I remember correctly 😁. I have since gotten a set of my own Polychromos and I love them!
@@oldsoulmermaid1543 Oh yesssss my fave pencils ever are Polychromos. I love the way Prismas lay down color so creamy but I can't layer them as well as I can Polychromos and they don't hold a point for as long. The CastleArts Artist Grade pencils are nice too, but Polychromos is my ride or die. Have you tried Derwent Inktense pencils?? Those are pretty fun to work with!
@Lisa_Papez Omg…I just got the complete set of the Derwent Inktense pencils and I love them! I’m not proficient with them yet, but I am having fun with them. In fact, I’m having a love affair with Derwent pencils right now. I have their Chromaflow, Coloursoft, and Lightfast sets and I love them 😍. I have the original soft set of the Castle Arts pencils and I like those. I haven’t tried the Gold set as I’ve heard mixed reviews on those, but everyone has there preferences. I’m learning that paper can make a big difference in how a pencil performs…that and skill 😜
I’m new-ish to your channel and have enjoyed watching your recent and old videos alike. I’m glad you are still making videos! I know I’m still catching up, but I’d love to hear more about your current tarot practices, your spiritual journey as you’ve left Mormonism (ex Baptist here), and how to deepen your tarot practice. I’ve been practicing tarot three years in earnest now and would love to hear your advice. ❤
Nice to see you again! You could always look at Tarot hashtags to do VR's to. That's pretty fun to do and watch. Dawn Michelle just adjusted her second channel to be more broad so she can share more about her other hobbies and interests. You could always do that. People can watch what they're interested in and skip the videos they're not interested in. So I say share what you feel called to share. You don't have to necessarily have a very narrow/specific niche for your videos. 😊 Maybe try making some videos on different topics and see what YOU enjoy making the most. Vlog style, mostly unedited or minimally edited, is just fine. 💖
Ello lovely! For my pennys worth...I think just what you feel like dabbling in, chatting about, moment by moment with no real rhyme or reason other than pure joy of doing it is absolutely perfect 😊👌 Just you being you, doing whatever you truly enjoy in any given moment where your just most comfortable I think ripples out to us watching along so follow your bliss! I would say regardless what we here might suggest, perhaps just look to make your whole UA-cam journey more chilled by doing more of what you like doing and less of what you don't...so if you like a more relaxed flow to your videos then do that, you don't like editing?..then just don't and leave all the 'bloopers' in and have a more casual vibe. I think you get my rather long jist here by now lol...do absolutely as you wish from one vid to the next...churn tons out one month, do none at all another month...sit in a cafe doing magic tricks for strangers one time, styling your friends the next, do a shopping trip to your favourites local (or out of town) shops, etc...do a mukbang haha, go forest bathing/wonder walking, start your own clothing line and take us on that journey, do like a ladies chat type thing with friends/family/other tarot enthusiasts etc discussing various things over a nice cup of tea, ooh maybe do like 'Challenge Annika' show (if you ever watched that in the US?) where we send you on challenges every month or whatever...like learn how to play drums to a certain song and perform it after said time, make your best cake in 4 hours...design a rough draft version of 'Bonnie's tarot' deck, create a 50's style skirt in 2 hours...learn how to twerk and balance a cup of water on ya butt without spilling it lol ok, scrap that last one...I reckon you twerk just fine already 😂😝 Anyway... *cough cough * ...hopefully some interesting ideas for you to ponder there (...and to rule out forever and to never ever think about ever again..ever) 😄 xx
So nice to see you back Bonnie. I always enjoy hearing your opinions and experiences (you don't sound elitist to me at all). Your edit of the unfinished dress with the music had me laughing - so funny 😅 Wishing you a very Happy New Year. Edited to add: I loved seeing your colouring books. Your shading looks fantastic 👌 but I'm agreeing with your husband, eyes creep me out a bit 🤣
I just re-followed you (sorry I left many months back!) because I'm interested in any of the things you mentioned - I started my own tarot channel and like you I'm not one for a lot of unboxings (tho I do like to watch them occasionally) so I've been trying to create a space that's just "me" and hoping to attract like - minded folks (I swear I'm not trying to advertise myself 😆). I grew up in Utah so I know what its like to live amongst Mormon culture. I always find it fascinating to hear others' experience around that. Point being, I'm excited you're back and hope to see you around TarotTube 💞
I greatly enjoyed your catch-up video. I wish I could have been your customer as I am sure your advice would have enhanced my fashion sense! I am also interested in any content you provide but perhaps especially--at this time anyway--in your tarot decluttering. In particular, I wonder if you kept the Odilon Redon decks (Lonely Dreamer and Oracle d'Or) and your Leila and Olive decks. I saw the Divine Muses creations in the video--they are wonderful. I first learned about them from you.
Thank you 🙏! You’ve just given me a wonderful idea for a video in regards to decluttering and deciding which decks to keep…FYI…I just have one Leila and Olive deck now 😉. I would have loved to have worked with you in the fitting rooms! My forte was fitting people with jeans. The store I worked at had lots of cuts and different fabrications.
Jeans are a core of my wardrobe, but they are difficult to fit. I actually worry about not being able to replenish my supply! It would have been wonderful to have your advice. I do hope for videos that elaborate on which decks "spark joy," as it were--which features gave them a secure place on your shelves vs which features set them off to other homes. In a phrase, it would be interesting to hear about your curatorial decisions. But all the ideas you mentioned sound worthwhile to me. @@oldsoulmermaid1543
