She definitely wasn’t underrated. We know her worth. However, A *captain* whips their team into shape. Jordan and Betts had ALLLLL crabs & yet 2010 was *STILL* LEGENDARY.

Her stands were amazing. Never the same. Fields are second only to 16 in previous years. But we do know she is a BEAST!
@@that1fyguy I see what you saying but lets not forget years back it took some ppl quite awhile to give Muva Carter her 10s, she didn't get her flowers I feel from some until much later, but that goes to show how someone's impact can be appreciated after the fact too. Yasmine’s year was soooo underrated mainly because of the backlash from fans with the crabs that were placed in the back of the formations “not paying attention”, on top of Jada “16” was expected to be captain in 2018. She bought some fire.... Jada, Milagros, Chantal.... etc. Her crab Brianna is now the 2020 Captain so obviously Yas had something for the sting fans.
Another thing I enjoyed about Yas season was her hair 😩😩😩😩 her hair was always on point! Love the exaggerated counts with the hair flips, swings, fall in face, all! 😍

Yas most definitely was a countologist and she paid attention to detail with her music. And for those saying she wasn’t captain material is a LIE! Yas definitely had it. She probably wasn’t as confident coming from a crab straight to captain, but she has the qualities for sure. If she didn’t, she wouldn’t be currently serving as the Miss Alabama State 🤷🏽♀️

Milagros is that girl.........Period.....Lastly I wish a few more of Yas crabs made a return, I loved most of them, Chantal, Zoe, Marcia aka "Lips" 😂 & like one more. Happy to see Tracy & Jada back!
Yasmine IMO is one of the most talented and well-liked dancers in the SWAC and HBCU world period. It's clear because AS WHOLE including her time as a Stingette, Yasmine is critically acclaimed! She had some good performances her year as capt despite the circumstances she faced and of course her moments pre-capt.
She was slept on. Maybe overlooked in favor of Janae. Perhaps considered an outsider coming from SU and only a 1 year vet before captaincy. She ROCKED though and continues to serve ASU in grace and style.
Yeah I think people were certain that Jada would become captain. Even in some of the comments from Amber's basketball season you can see people were just ready for Jada to be next. I feel like she got the Gabby treatment from Dolls. She'll be appreciated later.
Yeah if we were honest….. Janae was not ready to be captain that year Yas got it. It really gave her time to prepare and see all the things she could change before she got captain. I think Yas was really dealt a bad hand. She made the best of a bad situation. And I still don’t think Jada should have gotten captain that year. She came off as having attitude u see Amber. Might be completely wrong. I wish she had the team after Janae. I would have love to see her lead 2020. Crabs. Bri did Ok. I will leave that alone
Ummm alot of yall saying “its the captain job to xyz..” baby its more than just her job and she doesn’t have as much say so over the team as you would think! They didn’t even allow cuts during her year. Yasmine year was literally sabotaged by band staff thats why the band LOOKED how it looked and SOUNDED how it Sounded. She is an underrated captain
One of my favorite Yas moments is when she ATE at the HBCU dance affair. My Gawd momma cleaned plates during performances and the mini stand battle afterwards.

28:00 well Yas is from Louisiana 😆 and thats how we use to do it before formations became a real big thing out here. Nothing but all togethers, it really didn’t become big until around 2013-2015 out here, yes we were tired as hell but had to get it done! 😪 Yas definitely kept the girls on their toes!

Maybe it was her not having the support of the leadership that caused her not shine as bright as her dance abilities. Plus I believe she danced for herself and didn’t bring the team together 🤷🏽♀️
You can only do what u can do. As captain, the work is done behind doors. When it comes game time, u better be ready to perform. She dance like she was suppose to in front. I don’t know how can she simplify her moves to match their energy when she was that girl.
