Emu's Pink Windmill Show Ep9 (1986) - FULL EPISODE

- Grotbags has won the Witch of the Year award! Or has she? That's what's she's telling everyone, but the distinct lack of trophy is highly suspicious. Maybe it got lost in the post... This episode, the penultimate of the series, was broadcast live on Friday, 18th April, 1986. The songs are Car Wash (originally by Rose Royce) and He's the Wizard (from the musical The Wiz).
Rod and Emu try their hand at bricklaying in this one, at the request of a viewer, and there's a very nice guest spot from none other than Jimmy Cricket. Meanwhile, King Boggle is still doing his best to get out his prospective marriage to some Teutonic battleaxe, played by the wonderful Claire Davenport. It may just be me, but it contains a scene that's very reminiscent of something that happens in Blackadder II. But, as that was aired in January 1986 and this was most likely written and possibly shot before then (as they were all in the can before the series started in mid-February), I think we can chalk that down to coincidence. Also, if you went to the St Charles Catholic School in Ryde, New South Wales, there's something especially for you at 10:45.
Look out for a bit of Children's ITV continuity at the beginning, presented by Matthew Kelly, talking about Her Majesty's upcoming 60th birthday.
Many thanks to both Sally and Lindsay for providing recordings of at least part this episode. Also, the very end has been shameless ripped from TV Ark and tacked on (badly) - with humble apologies to all concerned.

Loved Grotbags when I was a child! She was fabulous! Classic!
I literally screamed when joe started singing
Joe Greco does a great job presenting the "post office" section, though you can tell he was a little nervous (I don't blame him - it was live after all!). He grew up to be an early crush of mine when I saw him in Spatz... :D
I'm not sure they'd let loose a bunch of kids on live national television like this these days! Joe was great as Vince in Spatz - and he did a fair few other TV shows, too (DJ Kat Show, Wizadora etc.). Now working on the technical side of production, it turns out.
Ella Sian he really is cute but hes like 40 now im guessing so yeah 😂
Joe's well and truly gone public about his Pink Windmill past, so I don't think there's any harm in leaving this here: twitter.com/JoeTheGreco
Ella Sian I loved watching him on wizzadora with my little cousins in the early 2003-2004
@@VideotapeFTW I clicked the link and it said it didn’t exist. What was the link supposed to be to? You caught my attention.
why does the thumbnail represent my life so much
ThreeneryCan I dunno why does it?
Tbh here for the thumbnail 😂😂
I could never abide a single episode of this when it was broadcast, and I hated the kids in it. I'm now 50 and have just watched the entire episode, enjoyed it, and thought the kids were actually very good and only doing what they were directed to do.
God, I've got old. Where's all the hate gone?
Haha - I'm getting that a lot more on my channel these days! It seems that people who used to just dismiss anything with stage school kids in it are finally realising that (a) they were actually surprisingly good at what they did, and (b) it's all generally a _lot_ more wholesome than your average Disney/Nickelodeon teen/tween output these days.
You'll be dancing along next. ;-)
@@VideotapeFTW I am searching out stuff about them now online. Guilt? I even ended up watching the horror film they made on a camcorder in the hotel.
That service station is still there in Attenborough, near Nottingham on the A6005.
Abbie was definitely a lot more confident in her delivery when she announced the star prizes.
I think this must have been the last time Abbie ever did it. She was a pro by this point.
I forgot all about Jimmy Cricket untill I Saw this episode

Ah the memories :)
I've watched so many episodes and im 26... I need a life lol
I'm 27 and about to finish the 3rd series from the *Emuverse* I'm way past the part that I'm wondering what I'm doing with my life and just enjoying it, shamelessly lmao

Jiminy cricket lol.
Think we found Robert The robots grandad & Justin’s Grandma
Poor croc. Domestic abuse :(
kelly is sooo charming
Anyone notice The Wizard is played by the man that does Redford
The same guy (Freddie Stevens) also played Croc in the early years, and Grovel a few series later. Always good value, too.
@VideotapeFTW yup tbh it's quite easy to tell Freddie doesn't really put on different voices when he does it's easy to tell it's him
10:53 WAIT IS THAT CATRINA!?
It certainly is! She returned for the 1986 series to do reports from Australia, and also did one in 1987 from America.
You're Catrina
@@gaki8844 yes I am
Wheres Joes last ever show performance?
He left the Pink Windmill at the end of the next episode: ua-cam.com/video/8a1xlDjrKWU/v-deo.html
Where's cortrina ?
Gadgetbig Though not a performer at this time (she stopped after Emu at Christmas, sad to say), she does the Twin Schools reports from Australia for this series, as seen in 10:54. So you do get to see Catrina, just not in usual form.
Eh wheres Catrina
