  • Rod and Emu are making a scarecrow, while Grotbags has invested in an extra-powerful magnet. Whatever could she be plotting in this, the fifth episode of Emu's Wide World, as broadcast on Friday, 8th May, 1987?
The Pink Windmill Kids give us a rendition of Don't Take Away the Music, originally by Tavares, and Rod sings Look at That Face, from the musical The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd, to the aforementioned scarecrow. How odd.
Meanwhile, King Boggle finds out why Count Cappuccino (or is it Count Giorgio?) was so keen to claim his couple of square cubits of land in the kingdom, Rod and Emu visit a fire station and go on a training mission, and there's some footage from Norfolk House School in Edgbaston and the Open School in Los Angeles, which alumni in particular may be interested in seeing. Plus, there's the usual Bargain Basement and Cauldron Game and all that fun.
Many thanks to Lindsay for lending me this tape.
(Please remember that this is an off-air VHS recording, so don't go expecting 1080p HD quality. I'm fairly certain that this video isn't commercially available, and I've uploaded it for its historic interest only. That said, if you are a copyright holder and object, please don't hesitate to contact me.)
