Everybody check out Buddy Guy's album Sweet Tea. It's basically a Junior Kimbrough tribute album and it's glorious. Love all this love Junior is getting these days. Great video too. This dudes the best teacher in the game.
And remember when you're learning this style, the "drone" is important but don't be afraid to drop it and to play other stuff and then come back to the drone. The drone isn't a strict thing, it can morph and shift if you want it to. Also, traditionally you would be playing this with a band so they carry that drone on without out you. It frees you up creatively. No matter how wild and outside the box you want to play, you can always slip right back in the groove with everyone else.
Loving this channel's focus. It's like you drove a spike right into my music vein. I grew up in Mississippi and was fortunate enough to take a blues class in College that openend my eyes up to all the styles of blues and trad music and this channel is a nice modern riff on that type of education. Love it.
I just bought a subscription to FGA for Jr K tabs. I specifically looked for this song, but did not see it :( Two days later and here it is with tabs. Thank you!
Thank you! This is amazing, everything's right, the sound, the notes, the tuning, the style. You are a very good teacher and you are so precisely! Thank you for your Videos! :)
Hey, love your videos and teaching method. Thank you very much for that 😊🙏 Could you please make a video on the gear for this raw Kimbrough sound? That would be great!
Man, just gotta’ say.. I love this style SO MUCH! Love that hypnotic, trance-like drone.. it’s just So Cool! It’s one more form of music that has contributed greatly to nearly everything that has evolved after it. Great Job, my Brother! Keep Up the Great Work! 👍🎸✌️😎
This is great! Thanks for an excellent walk through. Do you have any tips on how to get the bass-thumb and finger-picking coordination right? It feels a little like patting your head whilst rubbing your belly 😂
Hello, how did you tune your electric guitar, would be nice of you if you would let me know. I would like to learn the song much. Thank you for you excellent work, you are a true blues lover and guitar master.
@@DreadKingSaucer Um… actually it’s Northern Mississippi Hill COUNTRY Blues, not County Blues. It’s crazy how you don’t include Robert Belfour in your favorite blues artists with the droning style.
Im so glad i had never heard of the Black Keys before i heard of Junior. Im genuinely terrified of going into a guitar shop and playing one of these songs and the teenager who works there goes oH tHaTs A bLaCk kEyS sOnG rIgHt?
In the Black Keys version, it sounds like he plucks to a drone G from time to time. Excuse my lack of musical lingo... Like this: A-A-A-A-A-A-A-G, A-A-A-A-A-A-A-G. I could only acomplish this in standard tuning by plaing it down at the nut. Of course, I don't hear to well, so this could all be a delusion of mine.
Absolutely best guitar teacher. It's like learning from a good friend.
Wow, thanks!

Hi thank you 😎☮️☮️
yeah man!!!!
Junior’s very original style of blues is specifically named, Cotton Patch Soul Blues.
how do I create an FGA account?
how are getting that fuzzy sound, please? octafuzz?
❤❤❤
Wow
Just found you.👍👍👍👍
Not Delta, it’s specifically Kimbrough’s style, who is of the Mississippi Hill Country tradition
Yep- CPSB Cotton Patch Soul Blues
Um... actually it's NORTHERN Mississippi Hill County Blues. But only Junior and the Black Keys have the droning steady hypnotic groove that I love.

haha- yea I get it. He could be doing that, or maybe playing the open G string. Thanks for watching!
@@FeedbackGuitarAcademy Yes, that makes far more sense than changing positions every time you want to add embellishments.
My God , hearing this kind of blues , is a reminder for me of how Chicago blues sucks....
Bringing back delta blues to mainstream music can solve America’s problems 😌… and I’m not even an American
