Living in the US is dangerous, in schools, in malls everywhere you go have mass shooting, dirty cities everywhere you go is so filthy, lots of druggist people, so terrifying; we should copy like Philippines over protected… I love how they protect their country & people, no wonder why they are polite & discipline.

Yup go to the downtown San Francisco smell of weed in many places the hotels have locked their doors and you need employees to open for you so you can check in and get a key to open the entrance of hotel by yourself. Weed marijuana is destroying people. white Caucasian people legalized it they're the blame. Some hotels smells like weed and you become 2nd hand smoker just sniffing those odors. Selfishness of Americans. They don't care about others

American like you we appreciate it living in the Philippines... In the last Puerto Rico and Filipinas belonged to Spain untiil Spain sold PR and Filipinas to United States for 20 million bucks each...but Filipinas (Philippines) wanted independence from the U.S. while Puerto Rico remained under U.S. that's why Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens.

Hi. I am also a PR retired veteran who made the life changing decision to retire in the Philippines. Getting a bank account started is ridiculously challenging, and so is getting internet service. I also like my rice with Puerto Rican flavor but finding the proper ingredients to make it happen is difficult. I am trying to teach my filipina how to cook it so that I can have the best of both Filipino and Puerto Rican cuisine.

I am a Puerto Rican / Latino American who gets mistaken as a Filipino a lot by my Filipino online friends. They ask me If I am Filipino and I say no I am actually Latino in real life 😊
The best part is there are many Filipinos living and working in Puerto Rico 😀🇵🇭💞🇵🇷🤙

Welcome to the Philippines! I too reside (mostly) in Davao City. I very much enjoyed listening to your observations, especially your noticing the number of security guards! Amazing, isn't it? My thought is that the heightened security is in part a preventive measure against squatting, which is very prevalent in this country. Absent security, people would likely "set up shop" in malls, offices and businesses. It's already an issue in residential areas.
As you travel the country, I think you'll find the cost of food to be much less in Davao. Fruits and veggies are abundantly grown here, living in the shadow of Mt. Apo, a presently inactive volcano. And fish is also plentiful and cheap. Find a good "wet market" for best pricing.
If you do move on to Singapore, be aware of much higher prices. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is a much more affordable alternative.
Wishing you success in your journeys!

Lol nice. Boricua. Tu sabe mi Gente. I lived out there too for a while. I felt weird being American and even more so being Puerto Rican in an Asian country so it's nice to know I wasn't the only one but I definitely want to go back, although I do miss my food a lot when I'm there. Their language is crazy because you pick up some of that Spanish in it, but it's still is very difficult to learn. Also the difference in culture about dating and women there is extremely different especially in our culture. He knows what I'm talking about LOL. Puerto Rican women are ultra difficult and masculine for no reason. They will pick a fight with you and they will try to wear the pants in the relationship and you're arguing all the time. Filipinas are nothing like that LOL

I been living in NYC for 20 years it's very disservice to compare the richest country in the world to the Philippines why compare it to country like Venezuela, Mexico , Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica or Thailand , Malaysia Indonesia live in those contrived like try one year on every place and compare them that a fair comparison , compare living standards betwen Japan, Singapore , South Korea, Canada , G reat Britain, Australia, or European union countries to the USA then your comparison can get more credible and objective . I live 30 years in the Philippines and the last 20 years in NYC USA I never compare how my life in both countries bec material things the USA have everything u need but family life is way difficult if u value family life and spiritual being aside from all the money that u can buy with it which material things can cannot provide ...
