Thank you for your review. Sorry about your diagnosis I’m saving money to buy a lathe I think this one may be the one.

Well, my lathe is still going strong and precisely accurate. I'm very happy with my lathe. If you get one and have any question, please message or email me. Good luck.

Very nice lathe. Yeah every machine has its quirks.

Hi! Thanks for the review! There's one thing I missed though: You mention that the accuracy is great, but could you put some numbers to that comment? What is the spindle runout, for example? What about taper?

I have other video's that I intentionally show the insane accuracy of the lathe. I certainly understand your point.

Maybe PM do a better stand. I have a similar lathe (AL-336) by hare and forbes over here in Australia and the best thing I did was make a rigid stand for it.
Steel box section welded and filled with epoxy granite and bolted down to the concrete floor. So It went from parting at 180 rpm to 1000 rpm in 4140 - it added that much performance to an already incredible machine.
Glad you are still enjoying life with the hard cards you were dealt. Keep making those chips :)

My stand is ok but not the best. Thanks.

Also, PM does offer a cast iron stand now. It's an option that you can ourchase.

Does your PM-1236 have the welded stand or the cast iron stand?

I wish I would have bought this before the pandemic as planned. I can no longer afford them at the current prices.

I'm sure this lathe is still the same price. At least this lathe is, not sure about the others.
