Installing My Miele W1 Automatic Washing Machine

- In this video I install my new Miele washing machine using the existing plumbing and electrical supply. It's a fairly simple job to install a new washing machine, especially if you're replacing an old model that has been previously plumbed in.

Miele are so well thought out to make it easy to set up for the end user.
The Siemens avant-garde washing machine that I purchased came with an instruction book that was it, the transit bolts were not a problem because they were standard bolt sizes, but they used 6 T20 screw heads to secure a transit brace to the machine..... Never supplied any tools but charged about as much as the Miele you bought. Had to do a little bit of shopping.....
That Miele does look very impressive 😊
Very helpful video. Like you, I am installing it by myself and have the lower back spasms to prove it! Was astonished how heavy the machine is - it's built like a tank!

Nice video, just installed same one at my house.
Couple of tips (as this is s heavy washing machine) - spray thr floor where washing machine will sit with some polish, it will ll make pushing it a lot easier.
This unit will sit flush with kitchen worktop as both are 60cm. The overhang on back of machine allows for the pipework, but you must be mindful when pushing machine back that none come over this point. I used cable ties as not all of the back is a void area.
This Miele seems backwards compared to the early 2000’s models which included a water protection system (with 20 years guarantee), made solidly (unlike the newer ones) and the older ones were more reliable. My Miele from 2005 is still going strong but when it does break down, it’ll be more cost effective to pay Miele £260.00 for a full service

@@ianpurcell7266 I have the W3652 WPS model. For some reason, this model doesn’t exist on the internet anywhere hence why it’s hard to find aftermarket spare parts. Although any other Miele washing machine model - I’ve been able to find with no problem. But I love this machine, it’s energy efficient, cleans clothes exceptionally well, saves water and is extremely delicate whilst removing stains completely

this machine is build to last about 20 years
also ibaisaic if you take a key, then you cant scratch the front with it :) the layer of protective paint is twice as thick as on other brands like AEG, Bosch,siemens and so on.

Compared to your previous AEG the miele brand is still family owned as opposed to AEG which is a conglomerate which in turn all comes down to profits

Thank you for the great video! How much clearance do you need on the back? Can it be pushed right up against the wall? Some people online say it is possible but not sure because of the viration.
I pushed mine in as far as it would go. If the machine is properly levelled, it should not vibrate or move at all, even during the spin cycle.
Wow they give this inlet hose for miele washer? Crazyyy it gona broke in 3 days if you have a high pressure water, also not even got protection in case of leacking
How did you get the machine off the timber pallet? Couldn't see that step in your unboxng video
Does anyone knows how to do calibration after first use? I miss instructions, i did wash on cotton 60,but it was not empty..
How can i do calibration?

I reccomend doing a test cycle! (quick wash at 30 degrees) to test all of the machines functions!
With this Miele you are forced to complete a cottons 95 wash before the machine will allow you to select any other programmes.
actually its tested with water from factory so u'd have to run DrumClean or cottons 90 with empty drum

I know it’s tested at the factory, but the instructions state that you need to run a full cotton cycle at the highest temperature before putting washing in. I know this because I wasn’t able to use the machine normally until the full cotton cycle had been completed.

Can you do washing in the Miele
Hold on the first thing I notice is a bog standard cheap cold water connection hose,where is the WPS hose of 20years ago gone.
No AquaStop (WPS)? I am surprised... 🙈

Turn the dial to further programmes and press the arrow down button until you get to settings. Press OK and scroll down to buzzer volume. Press OK and use the arrow button until off is displayed. You can then turn the dial to the off position and the next time the washer ends, you shouldn’t get the bleeping.
Can you tell me how to get illuminated display (ie show time left etc) to show on WEG365 whilst machine is running? Unless I use the miele@home app I have no idea whereabouts in a program the machine is at. Thank you!
Turn the dial to further programmes. Scroll down to Settings, Press OK.
Scroll down to Disp. switch-off stat. Press OK. Scroll up to Off.
Press OK. A tick should appear next to Off. You can then turn the dial to off and the next time you use the machine, the display should stay on all the time.

Manufacturers recommend that the water supply to the machine should be switched off when not in use (the tap is under my sink). If the water supply is not switched off, there is a risk of flooding.
Additionally, the machine door should ONLY be closed, when the machine is in use. Otherwise, this is how machines get mouldy and smelly. The door should be left ajar to air the machine.
Finally, a maintenance wash should be run each month, after cleaning the filter. Use the "Drum Clean" program, or run a 90c wash with detergent, and an anti-limescale tablet, white vinegar, or a proprietary cleaning product.
My cheap £199.99 Candy lasted 19 years (as long as an overpriced Miele), because I looked after it!
In the instruction book Miele state: “Turn off the stopcock if the machine is to be left for any length of time (e.g. holiday), especially if there is no floor drain (gully) in the immediate vicinity.” When I go on holiday, the water supply to the whole house is cut off. To isolate the water in my machine when it’s not operating would involve me pulling out a 95kg appliance to turn off the tap. I can guarantee that the vast majority of people who own a plumbed in automatic washing machine will not turn off the water when not in use.
This machine has a maintenance programme that I run from time to time and the machine will tell me when and if this is necessary. According to the app, I don’t need to run a maintenance programme because I do regular washes at 60 degrees.
I have never had mould build up in my washing machines because I know you are supposed to leave the door ajar after use.
Hmm 🤔 I’ve just looked at the back of my Miele washing machine and it has a metal braided water inlet hose.. not a plastic one..
Will not spring a leak then as my Bosch did a few years back, but then it is almost 20years old but cost so little to repair it.
Needless to say I declined and fitted it myself
£20 to £30??? I had a new integrated dishwasher a couple of weeks ago and curry’s wanted £120 to fit it and £20 to dispose of the old appliance 😳😳😳
Currys charge £25 to install a freestanding washing machine.
@@ibaisaic but come on-a dishwasher with a cupboard door screwed to the front is just as easy to fit as a washing machine.Where on earth do they get £120 from??

You still haven't done a wash on it in 6 months!
I have used it loads of times. It’s had several replacements of the twin dos cartridges. Someone else has put up full wash cycles of this model on UA-cam so there’s little point in me doing them.
