I have never had issues in residential settings beyond resident to resident violence. That's not saying it never happens though

Maybe they provoke the patients! Check your workers, too.
You have a legal right to request another nurse or doctor for any reason if they do that. Also, report that behavior. It does get followed up on.
My Mom was in the hospital for 4 months in 2022. I encountered some very good Doctors and Nurses. I also encountered several vile human beings who should not be working in this field at all. I couldn't believe how blatantly shitty some of them really were. they should never make ''threatening a Nurse'' an arrestable offence unless there is proof. without proof, many of them will just make shit up to get rid visitors that have rubbed them the wrong way. Yes, it really is that bad.
Healthcare workers don't even get recourse with witnesses present. Just last week i responded to a violent patient code who had knives on her and when asked why (this was the third time in that week they caught weapons on her) she said it was to stab anyone who tried to take her stuff, she had heroine in her purse found earlier that week and was caught having a "visitor" bring more drugs earlier. Surprise, surprise, she had even more drugs on her person.
There are shitty fucking people who work in healthcare that excuses none of the behavior I've seen from patients like that woman. For the record, we released her with her belongings, except her drugs, and she caught was waiting out front to stab anyone she recognized, and as far as i know, charges were still not pressed.
