    Bought street racer on SNES when it first released it's a good game,it's worth the price of the cart for this and glover.

    It’s nice to point out the technical lengths that Blaze are doing to bring us some of these kind of games! 👍. It’s maybe not appreciated or highlighted as much. But well done for highlighting this Crazy Burger! Yes it not gonna be totally great across the board I think? 🤔. But this shows the effort it goes into a collection. It’s got to be worth an extra point or two?! 😊. I would say. Going by your review. That there are THREE standards games for sure, that going to make it a collection worth getting?! 🤔👍

    • @CrazyBurger

      Yeah definitely. Glover, Street Racer and Zero Intolerance are stand out titles. Star X is also a nice little gem. Risky Woods and Skuljagger are ok if you've got the patience. Target renegade is so so. Mermaids is decent and relaxing. 2 duffers in street brawler and fidgets.

    Good to hear your thoughts as always! Very cool Glover fairs well on the original handheld and updates ended ages ago! 😀
    Something I wanted to share, Street Racer has a menu glitch that some might experience. If you ever go to the options screen and all you see is a black screen, press up on the D-pad and the option screen should appear!
    I came across this option screen glitch as I changed the difficulty, then went back to the main menu and checked the options again to see if it remembered my settings and all I saw was a black screen. I pressed all buttons and nothing happened. Luckily pressing up on the D-pad made the option screen appear. For me this happens on VS, EXP & OG Handheld. Someone else also confirmed this glitch happened with their Piko 4 cart . Not a game breaker thankfully! Sorry if you have already heard of this glitch, I don't do social media other than a bit of UA-cam as you know. Cheers Crazy!

    Quick comment: Zero Tolerance Underground pre-order release date was meant to be 2022 which Evercade is using. However Retro Games Ltd delayed it's release for Megadrive/Genesis twice and it didn't ship until April 2023. I was one of those suckers that pre-ordered it for Megadrive lol.

    Thorough, informative and fair review, as always. For me, I wasn’t really that bothered about Glover so it was more the other games that were the attraction, especially Street Racer and Star X. All 3 seem to have a high learning threshold getting used to controls and/or being a little tricky, but maybe that just my slower brains and fingers these days. I can see this being a popular cart, although perhaps not a favourite of mine. Good to see plenty of variety coming through from Blaze though.

    I've recently been going through my small library of N64 games, which does include Glover, correctly emulating Glover's complex control scheme will surely be the: be all and end all deal breaker, as to whether or not the game is any good. There are numerous button combos to learn, to correctly control the game, surprised it's playable on a digital stick type input. Definitely worth putting in the time, it is a good game.

    Many thanks for another excellent video, these are really useful to help when making buying choices. I'm pleased that this cart looks and runs well on the super pocket, but what's your opinion on playability, particularly Glover, bearing in mind the awkwardness of the L buttons?

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  3 місяці тому +1

      I need to check. I'll try and do a super pocket video separately. I dont think the use of the shoulder buttons for Glover will be top bad. Generally it's just for camera, so not extensive use. Though I'll give it a try tonight. It definitely looked best on the pocket due to the aspect ratio I think.

    Now You're Playing with Power! Piko have done it and topped Renovation's Beast Wrestler :-) Worth the price of entry alone for the historic value of Bad Street Brawler. There's a hidden Power Glove exclusive move that you can access by modifying your controller to press L+R simultaneously on the D-pad. Really not worth the effort but really cool nonetheless. Keep up the awesome work!

    I think very few N64 games actually used the 64 bit capability and most were effectively 32 bit games, hence with a bit of work they can be emulated on the Evercade devices. Impressive nonetheless.

    Does anyone who's played the N64 Glover know if these controls are any good? I thought the d-pad controls seemed perfectly acceptable, until I got to the first bonus level (Frogger themed.) That bonus level seems UTTERLY impossible with 8-way controls, unless I'm missing something.

    They've managed it by turning off anti-aliasing, lowering the quality of textures and removing some lighting effects. Its strange how much work they put into stuff like this and Duke Nukem remasters when some of the games they put out like some of the broken C64 games seem barely to have been tested. It shows that they can put in the effort when they feel like it matters. Its a shame that this doesn't extend to all the games they release.

    On Risky Woods it's not timing making you fall, sometimes it just doesn't work and into the pit you go. I don't know if this is yet another thing that needs fixing from Blaze or if this is a bug from the original. If it wasn't for Glover, I'd be pissed off that I purchased this cart.

      Yeah, if you stamp on a GBA it will break into 16 bits, if you keep stamping on a GBA SP your get 32 bits on the floor. But do the same thing to a GBA Micro and your bounce off with 8 bits broken in your foot. Very cool. 😁

    It's not "pointless" to fight the enemies in Bad Street Brawler. That's literally how you get points that are totalled up at the end of the level. The game is meant to be a high score challenge where you are trying to get the highest score while beating the time limit. I know it has a bad reputation (largely because of the glove) but I found it simple fun, the hit detection is quite solid and meaty and the variety of moves that change with each stage keep it fresh. Pretty simple but I didn't find it a bad game. Now that port of Target Renegade on the other hand...

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  3 місяці тому +1

      Cmon it's awful. It is pointless cause you don't "need" to fight the enemies. Its irrelevant. I dont play games to create high scores. Unless its in competition with others.

  • @scootakuh3142

    So I have a problem with this cart. First off, on Street Racer the options menu just doesn't show, on EXP and VS. No idea why, all I get is a black screen. It may only be a small things but I'm getting fed up of having carts with little issues like this, it just shouldn't be happening!
    Also, am I the only one really not impressed with Glover? It's a 64 bit game but it has no texture filtering at all, making it look like an ugly PS1 game. It certainly doesn't look like the N64 game. Why is it like this? I'm guessing that Evercade doesn't support any kind of texture smoothing, hence the ugly mess we got.
    On the plus side, Daze Before Christmas is excellent. I had this for my SNES as a kid and it really brings back memories. Great to see it here, and in spite of the options not working, Street Racer is great fun.

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  3 місяці тому +1

      You should contact support@evercade.co.uk. I agree it doesn't really look like N64 but it definitely is that version. To get it to work on Evercade they've obviously had to make changes. I've seen Glover on emulation and it's quite often running badly. The fact it's running at all is impressive, albeit without any smoothing of the graphics and thus not looking like a typical N64 title.
