I assumed you were going to add a neck similar to Hazel's, but removing it to transplant on to your brother's guitar was an emotional moment. You're awesome.
When she said "we'll give him just that", I thought "no way". Got misty-eyed when it happened.
Haha originally I was going to do just that, but this somehow felt a bit more appropriate. Thanks for watching!
LOL, Same! When she took Hazels neck off my first thought was "to make a mold?"
Your brother has an awesome instrument with a cool story, doesn’t replace everything that he lost but it should go a long way to ease the pain.
i mean, quite frankly im always astonished at the quality of your videos, from the reparing of the guitar to the playing, holy moly!
great job!
Thank you!
After watching both parts of this series I went to your channel hungry for more.... I'm still hungry - MORE VIDEOS GIRL!!!!
LOL, JK, great job and great channel.
Haha working on it! Glad you enjoyed the videos!
6:20 bro the transition into the demo
You're an awesome sister & your brother seems so... soulful when he's describing his relationship to his instrument. I love that 💗
edit: Plot twist! We've been hearing it the whole time! Plus Major Katsuragi is still there. When the drive kicked in, I legit wept 😢
I’m not even 3 mins in and I’m tearing up lol. This is such a sweet, special project and the care you put into it shines through your production, script, and (of course) the repair work you did 🥹😭
Of course he said to buy renters insurance lmfao
Haha when I asked him the question, I thought he'd say something heartfelt, but nah straight to verbal shitposting
it's awesome (and kind of a miracle) that you were able to salvage the Evangelion sticker! it's not technically part of the guitar but seems like such an important personal touch to preserve.
I still can't believe the sticker survived a fire! I knew that I had to include it in the finished build haha
Real luthiers might be cringing watching this but I really admire your courage in taking these projects on with either minimum or no experience. We can all learn a lesson from that. I also appreciate you wanting to give your brother one of his guitars back. It would be terribly sad to me if I lost my guitars in a fire. I feel that your editing skills are better than most. We see some detail but it’s never boring. You can never know everything about guitars but all of your experiences are teaching you a lot I’m sure. Thank you so much for taking us on this journey with you. You are an amazing young lady!!!!
The music reminds me of Sithu Aye. This was great! Thanks for the content!
Thank you so much! Sithu's one of my biggest influences especially when it comes to leads haha
How the BGM of the shots of working on the guitar seamlessly transitioned into the playing demo is so satisfying. Magnificant.
A very unexpected, but "out of this world" touch to culminate the experience for the viewers.
Giving Hazel to your brother was the most generous thing.
Easily my new favorite guitar channel after this video! So happy I found it after your very first video! Can’t wait to see this channel explode!
Thanks so much!
One of the best days in my life was when I bought a genuine Fender Telecaster. It’s only a MIM but it’s a Fender, and I never, ever thought I’d own a Tele. I’ve changed my pickups over to EMG actives, and that is my guitar. I have a lot of other guitars, and I’ve built a lot of guitars, but my Tele is really special to me. If I could only keep 3 guitars it would be my Tele, my DG335 in pelham blue, and my first guitar I built, my Tele in zebrawood dyed purple, with all gold hardware.
Love that you chose not to sand all the burnt away. It gives that guitar an even more awesome story. Also donating the neck off your own guitar was so awesome! You brought that guitar back to life and I bet your Brother will love it for a very long time to come,
i really love how you let the guitar tell its own story, rather than trying to restore it back to new
Thank you! I couldn’t bring myself to erase all of that history
Nisebelle!!!! You are a rockstar guitar tech and an amazing sister! And... You used Hazel's neck! That's sacrificial love!!! Much love to you, sweet friend, and God's blessings to you! ❤
Holy cow that thing looks way cooler than before it got burned. The authentic worn in and rough looks add the the vibe this thing.
Choosing the black pick guard over white (like the original) was inspired, for obvious reasons.
And the 2023 best sister in the world award goes to...
This is my new favourite channel. very inspiring stuff :) Love the way the guitar turned out, and killer playing in the end! Great job!
From destroyed guitar to lovingly restored family heirloom. Great work!
The demos sounds sick asf if you ever make a full version ID LOVE TO HEAR IT
Thank you so much! If I ever end up posting them anywhere, I'll let you know!
Maybe we should be burning more guitars. It is really beautiful and special now. Thanks for sharing this story.
i've seen a lot of guitar re-building processes, but this one is different. sounds a bit cheesy but caught myself crying in the 6:44 solo cause sounds like the guitar's screaming, as if it's still burning the flames that caught it, specially seeing how your brother wanted it back. pretty sure your dad is proud of you 2.
The tele is the workhorse of guitars- such a great guitar. That being said, I think throwing a few surprises in like the switch etc. Is the way to go. Give him the newest version of that old guitar. He has a story how it ended up with you and now you have a story of giving it back- Awesome video!
This is prolly the coolest Tele on the Internet, hands down
No doubt.
Slick transition at 6:26! Love the burnt look, it's rich with age and matches well with its tone,
I like the fact that every now and then it just cuts to the random Misato sticker on the back
I can honestly say if one of my siblings fixed (and upgraded) my favorite guitar and even gave me a neck from one of their’s, I would love it infinitely many more times than before. He may have had terrible luck with the fire but he’s lucky to have you!
You are the best sister, any brother could EVER hope for. A marvellous effort. The Tele sounds great.
Cool story, cool guitar, and cool playing too!
Guitar Redemption arc, let's goooooo!
It's truly a work of art, a beautiful rebirth with that personal investment that takes it over the top. I so thought a roasted maple neck was the appropriate character for the recovery; the fact that it was already played-on is a tone bonus. The pickup choice was great, I like the warmth and bite. Even the orange drop tone cap would be my go-to choice. I hope your brother appreciates that he is getting a guitar back with another dynamic dimension that he can discover and play into; it might not be what was, but can be a better where-it's-going. He should learn the story of Willie Nelson's Trigger. This can become his Trigger.
Honestly, I love the way this guitar looks now. There's a Japanese technique called shou sugi ban where they preserve wood by charring it. Ben Crow from Crimson Guitars has played a lot with this technique, and the result on your brother's guitar is such a cool burst, which I will henceforth refer to as Ash Burst. Wait. Ash is also a type of wood...... We'll workshop the name, but you did a fantastic job.
I love that you used Jason Lollar's Special T's! I love those pups and have them in a few Tele's that I've a few years ago. I hav even used his Imperial's and El Rayo's in a few hum bucking guitars. They're great sounding pup's as well as Lindy Fralin's Steel Poles 43's (P90's) in a Tele, with a 4 way switch. Plus, I really dig what you do!! Job well done on your Brother's guitar!
Dang, that intro almost broke my heart. I can't imagine losing my guitars. While I would have probably filled the wholes so it looked flat I still love how it came out :) Great work, looking forward for more content
I must confess 🎉 for the burnt look on the body. I know I know fire accident 😢 but the rebirth from the flames is awesome. I am building a kit kicking around finish ideas the unintentional look created ❤ WOW
The phoenix tele rises from the ashes!
What a beautiful guitar. I'm so glad you were able to salvage it and what it's become is one of the coolest partscasters ever.
that new look is gorgeous 💙😵💫😵
Got the guitar tech video from you channel recommended and started watching more. Now seeing this project video, amazing job on the guitar! Your brother is happy to have you!! ❤
Amazing. You rock supreme! 😎
Thanks!
Amazing project! My allergies are really kicking in now for some reason... 😢
Well made video , was what i thought at first. Then when the music transitioned to you playing the same song, took it to a whole new level! You've made a phoenix of that guitar!!
Love the "Fireburst" finish.
I think this is going to inspire some creative modders.
The whole lay-your-tools-off-beforehand thing is peak Asian. I love it so much. I kinda want that for myself but having worked on cars for decades, improvisation of the correct tool for the next procedure is my method. It's impractical to lay out in advance all the tools required to pull an engine.
When I saw you starting to take the neck off of your own guitar to add to the rebuild of your brothers guitar my eyes became wet.
What a phenomenal job you did of recreating that lost Tele and adding even more to it.
It will always have its original history and now it has a new life built on love.
This has the vibe of zappa’s hendrix’s burnt guitar. Really really good👍
So much personality and story in that guitar. Love it!
Fantastic.
Love the burnt natural finish on this.
amazing!
First time on your channel..I have a lot of questions, but I want to say what a beautiful resto you were able to do on his burned up tele. I subscribed!
Welcome! And so glad you found your way over to this little corner of the internet! Feel free to ask away, I'm always happy to talk about these projects haha. Thanks for watching!
Awesome story and great job! I think hazel would suit a baritone neck maybe like 27’ scale length??
Thanks so much! Oooooh that would be cool! My Bass VI might get a bit jealous if I added a baritone to the mix haha
so wonderful.
Love this!
Great job. Great video. Thank you!
Great job. I like how the char almost acts like a burst.
I wish my sister loved me enough to do this. Awesome work.
Tremendous work!!
Loved this
This is so soothing
This is so sweet. Amazing job!
Wow. That was so cool.
Sounds amazing!! And now it's one of a kind.
awesome job
Awesome skills and passion ❤
Great job!! Looks and sounds great!
Beautiful guitar. Awesome work.
Beautiful job
Amazing work! My first ever electric guitar drowned in Hurricane Katrina, and a brilliant luthier brought it back to life for me, so I know how special this is. I'm sorry your brother had to go through that, but he's lucky to have such a great sister!
That looks incredible. Awesome work and awesome playing. Thanks
it make a difference, nice
That is one special Tele. Terrific job!
You've truly pulled beauty from ashes here, to the point of giving him Hazel's neck. And that finish... wow, can we just make "burnburst" a thing?
I’m in awe of your talent and skills. This is a beautiful video.❤
well that turned out fantastic. and the story that goes along with it makes it special.
Sick looking guitar!
you are an amazing crafts person and a joy to watch
such good production quality and content :)))
Just found your channel and immediately subbed after this video. I love watching guitar restoration videos but this one hit different. I loved seeing the story behind this guitar and all the care you put into it to preserve something that means so much to your brother. Looking forward to future videos!
I love this channel. You're amazing, and this was an absolutely beautiful sentiment for your brother.
Awesome Guitar. Excellent playing! Very cool video.
Yeah!!!!! Beatiful guitar!!!! Great work!!!
Greetings from Barcelona
This has been one of my top favorite (2 part) videos on youtube so far. Between the quality of video and redemptive arc in the story telling, it was all just very well done. Plus that tele looks sick now!
Great video! Thank you, now I know what kind of sound to aim in my next guitar 😀
Nice job!
First guitar restoration video that really touched me emotionally. Fantastic job, sister!!! 🫶
i just discovered you and your content is amazing!!! you have an amazing smile!!!
It's incredible is what it is. Fabulous build
Thank you!
Great work! It's interesting to watch and listen to you)
Maravillosa
Wow! That turned out soooo nice! I can feel the mojo through the screen 😆 The roasted maple neck looks fantastic on it, too! Great job!
Thank you!
This is such an awesome thing to do for your brother. I'm sure that guitar will be worth more to him now than it ever did before. It has sentiment now.
Glad you kept the charred finish. It tells the story and it's unique.
Awesome ! That is beautiful ❤❤❤
Thank you!
..a tortoise shell pick guard would look awesome on that.
OMG you are awesome!!!!
you took a great guitar and made an one of a kind of an exceptional guitar
This is a great project! Curious as to why you went for a push/pull pots in the tone when a 4 way switch could give you the series/parallel option?🤔
Great job Nisebelle, and so generous to give up the neck from your own guitar to rebuild your brother's, that brought a tear to my eye! 😢 You guys are awesome family! 👍❤️
