- Follow along as I machine a set of custom aluminum steering components for my WJ Jeep Grand Cherokee build. I used high grade USA made 7075 1 3/8" solid aluminum bar stock. Drilled and tapped with left and right hand threads for some new grease-able tie rod ends.

I am currently restoring an old railroad station that was originally built as the Daytona Beach East Coast station sometime in the late 1800's. It was torn down sometime in the 1960's and 50 feet worth of the lumber was used to build a cabin in the woods on a lake in Florida.

I just ordered taps to do this, but they are going to take forever to get here and I suspect I ordered junk. Would you be up for doing another set for me? I can supply the material drilled/bored and faced or I can give you the lengths. I'm just getting tired of waiting to get this project done.

So a 7/8" heim will not get a 7/8" hole drilled? Before the tap?
I ordered 7075 bar stock and need this done except for 7/8 -14 pitch
A 7/8-14 gets a 13/16" drill or .8125
