Fantastic job. Looks beautiful. I have the same situation. Redoing my deck. Built it 26 years ago. Pushing 80 now and can't do it anymore. Want to hire someone to do mine exactly the way you did. Same materials. Hope I can find someone. Will continue to follow to see what else you do. Great work.

I have 1,400 sq. foot of PT pine in the DC area that I've kept treated over the years (since 1988) and it's still going strong. Your deck looks fantastic! I did the same thing to my deck eight years ago. I used the Trex deck system on my deck. This included the post sleeves, railing, and down lighting on the posts. The only things that needed painting were the support beam, 6x6 posts and the stringers for the stairs. I used the hidden fasteners for the boards and the Cortex screws with the plugs for the step risers and trim boards. The deck still looks great today. Yours should last for many years virtually maintenance free. Enjoy!

Well that was a job and a half. It would be interesting to see how the boards perform in about 6 months.
90 degrees down to 15 already and still looking brand new. Benefits of this material and the way I fastened it! I have been using this for clients for probably 5 years too haha it’s great stuff

Looks great and is well put together. I haven't see any composite decks that have no maintenance though. Cleaning those white railings is a pain and the decking texture wears out quickly and the boards need replacing. Unless you have lived with a deck like this for a while, these are things that sales guys don't tell you.
This is a pvc product with a 50 year warranty, not even a comparison to older composites you have experience with man! Less maintenance as in no sanding, painting, staining, patching. Of course it’ll still need it’s yearly cleaning 👍🏽

Great job! One thing I wonder is how the material works regarding thermal expansion / contraction. In particular whem you put in that center deck board, you said it was a snug fit...
Watched this because I'm educating myself on resurfacing our deck. The way I see our deck, the bones are solid. We need the surface boards replaced and possibly the railing over time. This is all new to me. The spline board does not exist on our current deck, but I like the look of what you did. When factoring in waste of the boards, I wonder how the best way to pick the 2*6 is. I have just about 24' width on 16" joist spacing. Makes the most sense to butt two 12 footers up against each other and leave 5.5" for a spline? I was going to buy 16 footers and go from there. Regardless of whether or not you respond, very impressive video on all accounts. Well done, sir!

I've got a really crazy deck that would make a great make over video for you. No two joists are the same distance apart from the others. And yet at some point there was a hot tub on the top of it. I'm not sure how it hasn't collapsed years ago.
