The idea of Pearl being an accomplice to murder is so funny to me. She can't even read, but she's a criminal mastermind who sought to overthrow her cousin and missing aunt alongside her own mother. 😆

Angel wasn't thinking the question was "name the conspirator Mia was protecting", but merely "name someone Mia was protecting", and simultaneously thinking Mia wouldn't protect Morgan, on account of her villain dialog.
EDIT: There's no excuse for naming Pearl the second time.

Larry is one of those guys you don't want to be personally involved with, but would pay money to watch him jump a shark (not for the chance of success, but the utterly wild outcome of such a stunt).
Lotta has more redeeming qualities than Larry. I feel like she turned out a better person after her appearance on AA, but once again you wouldn't want to be too close to Lotta. Trouble always seems to find her.
Hotti's head deserves to be caved in by the Thinker statue :)
Ace Attorney Fun Fact!
In the Japanese version, presenting Pearl Fey's profile to "Hotti" will have him urge Phoenix to bring her to see him if she hurts herself, to which Wright inwardly refuses. Believing this line would not be suitable in the Western release, the localization crew experimented with an alternative scenario where "Hotti" compared Pearl to a doll, before removing the line altogether. In the final Western release, "Hotti" compares Pearl to a young girl who is currently at the hospital, although he is unsure what her ailment is.

I feel Lotta is underrated. Not great but tolerable and mostly well intended. She just seems unaware of certain things and sometimes does dumb things. She can be aggressive but it's tolerable.
Also, SPOILER
He creeps on Pearl in the next game if you show him her photo. She's like nine in that game and clearly a child. And he wallows in pity over his loseriness and tries to get Pearl to join him. The latter part isn't brief either.
Larry never said anything weird about minors because you're forgetting the only reason you know Maya's age is because of the profile which doesn't exist in universe.

I have the same answer for the F/M/K, but it wasn't as hard for me because I don't mind Larry or Lotta all that much.
Hotti’s design is a little more tolerable for me. Sal sweating and drooling while engaging in l33t speak is the greater horror.

All these """funny""" verbal quirks they give this Hotti guy just make the conversation take even longer, this is miserable. Very bizarre choice to have the plot advance because of this one weirdo stealing medical information....

I totally forgot about this Psyche-Lock section with Mia. I thought this investigation just ended after the section with Ini, strange.
I'm gonna go off the path here, but I'd swap Larry/Lotta in the FMK question (Hotti's gotta go, no argument here). Lotta is a self-serving jerk. Larry may be the Butts, but he *is* a loyal friend, a hard worker, and a VERY sweet, doting romantic. He's still awful and annoying, but at least his heart's in the right place.
First game Larry would be an easy marry despite all his... quirks, but later games Larry is definitely strikes me as a "greener pastures" kind of guy

I’ve got a brain that needs other brains to synchronise to in order to get stuff done. Sal is a writer, as I desire to be, and I’m sure I’ll become nose blind to him eventually. Winston gets banged by default on account of my needing Hotti to cease all activities, up to and including metabolic.

The original GBA Japanese only version of this game was first released in October 2002. The Two Towers was first released exactly 2 months later.
And since no version of this game for either GBA or DS made it to the US until 2006/7 that was definitely intentional, at least on the part of the localizers.

I think Ini is Mimi’s younger fraternal twin sister. After all, twins can have such a strong bond that any pain or injury one twin has is felt by the other twin? (My twin aunts are like that, even though they live on different continents!) Ini and/or Mimi could’ve used hair dye.

By the logic of the key and the scrap of cloth ending up in the incinerator, the costume Maya was originally wearing was destroyed.
But one of the key factors in the first half of the trial is that Maya's costume had a bullet hole in it but the costume the murderer was wearing did not.
...is this a plot hole?
Yeah this is the one thing I never understood in this case. I remember struggling with this conversation with Mia because I honestly don’t follow the line of logic or this apparent plot hole lol
Having never played the game, it might be, but remember something else that got revealed last episode?
The clothing box with spare outfits also had a bullet hole in it. So, it could be that the outfit Maya was redressed in had a bullet hole from that, with blood added to it by Morgan.
@@thomasfleming8131 That's the only explanation I could think of that even remotely makes sense, though that raises the question of why Morgan went through the trouble of changing her clothes in the first place instead of just adding the blood to the clothes she was already wearing.
