They didn't choose Reznick lol. She was assigned to the team after Dr. Quall was reassigned due to accusations of harassment. I doubt they would have chosen her if given the choice lol
Reznik has other sides to her. Yes, she's arrogant, irritating, and ruthlessly competitive, but she also does have a moral core. She's dedicated and willing to risk and sacrifice for her patients and friends. Along with Park she's also probably the least naive, which means she doesn't get taken advantage of. Maybe Hooper would have shown another part of himself, but I think the point of the show is that there really isn't that much else there. (Most people in real life do, and Hooper is definitely a stereotype. But this is essentially a soap opera.)
@@BloggerMusicMan the point of will hooper was to have a straight white male that the show could shit on and display it's annoying leftist feminist ideology. The beginning of this season is making me want to drop the show.
I liked parts of this episode. Seeing the residents being senior residents training interns is a good plot line. It shows different sides of them. I particularly liked the scene where Andrews and Lim were talking about how each of them would be as leaders. It tells us a lot of what we already know, but it's interesting to hear it come from their mouths. I didn't like the degree to which identity politics was brought into it. That's not new -- racial, gender and disability issues have always been a part of this show, mostly done tastefully -- but I thought this episode was far too aggressive in pushing these issues. On a somewhat related note, I thought the new interns could have been much more interesting characters than they ended up being. This is especially true of Hooper, who was clearly designed to be a stereotype and someone who could not do anything right.
I feel the same way, when they started throwing words around like mansplaining and having Dr Brown and Morgan be unusually aggressive towards that one Jr. Resident felt really unnatural and out of character just to try and push an ideology. It was really annoying and made me have second thoughts about continuing the show.
@@heshreds4049I couldn’t agree more. The way they treated him was very unprofessional and unfair purely based on prejudice. They said Hopper was obnoxious, full of himself, sexist and so on... And that's why he wasn't picked. But what i think is that he wasn't picked because he is white and he's a man. If you keep going down this road, this show will be ruined. It's like a completely new show. Everything was fine. We want a good show, an entertainment, not political agendas or diversity and clearly the newbies were very well diverse picked except for a white man. Stop being so obvious about this, it's dumb.
ikr. They kept getting mad at him when he was just trying to help out or point out something. It seemed like every time he talked they said he was mansplaining, which is already an infuriating double standard, but it’s also ungrateful and rude.
